Wait so...... is Skyrim released?

I think thats only a holiday in Canada. It technically is a holiday in US too (vet's day) but nothing closes for that

Technically it's not a holiday everywhere in Canada. In some provinces it's a stat holiday and no-one works, in others it is not, in others it kinda-is but places are still open. Here in BC it is a stat holiday but stores are generally open at least for half the day.

well, the shields won't have an attack animation and offer decent defense, so dualwielding a shield seems a bit OP imho.
there seems to be a mechanic that if you attack at the same time you block, you can stagger an opponent (costs stamina), possibly leaving them open for a counterattack.
also, since it says you can block with a weapon, I dont see why a dualwielder wouldn't be able to block (it says nothing about that in the manual).
But maybe I'll start a different topic on manual content, this is a bit OT

Nah was more making lighthearted on the fact, i can't curl up into a ball with two shields :P

There's been so much tension on the forum today about whose got what first and all that surrounds, it, i was just having a laugh ;)

Even if there was dual shielding, i'd have gone the shield - sword/mace/dagger approach regardless

exaclty.
I don't like the 'have patience' remarks.
I dont think you fully understand what happened. If the game would be delayed another 3 months, I wouldn't complain and just wait, plenty of ohter good games out now.
It's a whole other thing when you actually paid good money for a game from a respected game store, you have the physical copy in your hands and you have just been told you can't install it yet.
that has to violate some consumer rights no ?
No not really.

Actually, what I'm wondering about, considering I got this thing for the PC I browsed in the files for a bit, the only thing I found was a Steam Installation setup...

Meaning, I need to download the entire file from Steam, and considering that everyone that has ever touched a videogame will be playing this, those servers will be pumping mad.
I have a bad feeling about what is to come...And with that Steam Forum hack what happened today...

Bad feeling I tell you...

I have a feeling the main reason for so many stores releasing it early is because, at least here, the normal release for new games is Tuesday and it's just habit.

I'm from Belgium and I bought the PC version today, still have to wait for 11.11.11 tho.

I think the reason the game is being sold prior to release date in country's like Belgium, Germany, Netherlands,.. is because the 11th november is a celebration day, meaning they would not be able to sell it here for the whole weekend,
figuring out it would sell weak selling it 1-day prior (10th) I think they (maybe Bethesda approved) decided to release the game 3-day's prior for decent europe sale numbers. Just my 2 cents..

A warning? I gave the guy a cigar! B)

I saw a huge pile of collector's editions when I picked mine up today. With all the other big releases in this period they probably need the storage space as the room looked terribly small.

We've waited 5 years, what's a few more days?
The last few days is just too agonizing for some than others.

Guess I'll go play some BF3 to pass time, and create a way to get the flu without it sounding fake.
Haha, I actually really have to flu, but still going to school...

Here's some light reading for those still waiting. This page will give you a good appreciation of why the 11th of November isn't such a good day to release a game.

It's awesome that the rest of us...Especially the PC crowd that's supported TES all these years...are just sitting around, twiddling our thumbs, waiting for an arbitrary date.

Interesting statement. I too am waiting for my Xbox 360 copy. But to touch on your 'PC players supporting TES' comment, I've been supporting gamesas for around 9 years now both with console purchases, as well as PC, granted I only came aboard with Morrowind. But I've purchased Morrowind on PC and Xbox, and I'm looking to buy MW on PC again to get the GOTY version. I've purchased Oblivion on Xbox 360 with all expansions and DLC (except horse armour), I've purchased Oblivion on PS3 as well and I'm looking to buy OB 5th anniversary ed. for PC once I get a better graphics card. I've pre-ordered the Skyrim CE for Xbox 360. At some point, I'll get GOTY for PS3 and when I get a much better PC (eventually) I'll get GOTY for PC as well. I plan on getting all DLC for the 360 once it comes out. I've purchased the CE Skyrim Strategy guide and we can add The Infernal City and soon to be purchased Lord of Souls as well as the official Skyrim soundtrack to the list. So, for all these years, I've been supporting TES with console purchases, as well as and if not more than, PC purchases.

I'm not trying to show off, because many of us on these forums have made multiple, multi-platform purchases of the games and supplemental items in the TES series. I can appreciate that PC players started things off with Arena and Daggerfall and the mobile games, but you can't discount other platforms because since MW came out, these hated console players you speak of have given their own hard-earned money to gamesas in support of TES, and based on current pre-order numbers, it looks to be even more so for Skyrim.

Regardless, we need to set aside our differences and stop attacking each other and realize that as a whole, all of us, PC users and console users are contributing to the continuation of the series and we should have virtual mead together in celebration of Skyrim's arrival this Friday and in anticipation of the arrival of TES VI.

/End Transmission
