I know the wiki has had this up for a while, but this is the first concrete info I've seen for the Single (barrel) Shotgun:
Our short-barreled shotguns still have pretty bad spread, but the long-barreled shotguns generally do not. For example, you can be reasonably accurate with the Single Shotgun even at moderate distances.

PS for those of you that don't know, Ropekid is Josh's username at SA. So somebody that knows how should shoot over to the wiki and change the name to the proper one Josh used above. Also, it's nice to see the camofluaged rifle finally died an ignominious death. One down, one cyber-punk cowboy SMG to go. So many agendas, so little time.

Yeah, just what is that thing, a 12.7mm SMG?

If someone was holding it to my head and I had to make a guess, that's what I'd bet.

Well you had better hope you weren't right if they pull the trigger, heh.

But yeah, it just seems to me it isn't really based on any real gun designs, besides that vague comparison to the Vector, just like the 12.7mm Handgun.

It looks like it could play the part.

While is doesn't have the angular look the TDI has, it does have a very heavy reciever forward of the pistol grip. It is much larger than neccessary for any SMG magazine (maybe it's a .50MG SMG :hubbahubba: ) so the only reasonable explaination is that it is loosely modeled on a vector-type, with the asymmetrical recoil action. This would be very useful if it were chambered in 12.7mm.

Agreed, plus the way it's obliterating that mutant's head in the screen shot just gives it that feel of power.

Actually, you could pretty easily make a WWII themed character with the NCR uniform and MP helmet. It resembles WWI outfits and british WWII desert uniforms.
Then you could have your garand, your grease gun, and the Hi-power, which is similar to the 1911.
Maybe pack a flamer for fun too.
I just hope you can slap a scope on that garand.

Thank god for that. If only we could figure out what the CCSMG is so it could finally die.

Here's hoping most of the guns can be fitted with a suppressor.

Only two weapons in F3 having suppressors on them made my stealth character weep.

Off the top of my head, only the Silenced .22 Pistol and the Silenced .22 SMG are surpressed/silenced/muffled. Another Vault error, the Silenced .22 is always silenced since the name appears that way in the Pip-boy. Since I have now seen the 10mm pistol with my own eyes, I would expect the silenced version, either vanilla or modded, to be available also, but we've ween hide not hare of the R91, so the Infiltrater may not be around. Why they would take out a pre-existing model is beyond me, but it's their game, so they get to make the decisions.

guess there is a upper limit to how many guns the game can juggle before it starts to slip and bug out.

Nope. 20th Century Guns (mod for FO3) adds around 2000 new weapons, and it works fine.

To be honest that was what I was planning on doing the NCR Uniforms were based off the Australian WWII http://www.privateletters.net/images/equipment/UNIFORMS/Australia_1941_May_Tobruk_Private_9th_Division.jpg, The NCR standard helmet looks like the old Brodie Helmet from WWI/WWII and I noticed that the MP Helmet looked a little like an M1 Helmet. (Although the MP Helmet looking like the M1 may be wishful thinking on my part.) :tops:

I sure wish you'd try, son. I got my shotgun full of 16 thin dimes. Enough to spread you out like a crazy woman's quilt.

Considering Josh is a fan of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Kris Kristofferson is in the game and money has been used as a weapon in previous Fallout games (Bottle Cap Mine), I'm wondering if we'll be able to custom load a shotgun shell with http://www.tcm.com/mediaroom/index.jsp?cid=138593.

I don't know if it's so much that or that they've put in quite a few other 5.56mm rifles. There's at least 4 (Varmint Rifle, Assualt Carbine, Marksman Carbine and Service Rifle).

*shrugs* guess they think there should only be a limited amount of guns per caliber.

again I rather think it′s the deadline that made them focus on adding new guns rather then pushing in the old. With the new gameplay changes it′s obvius they couldn′t just lift the guns from Fallout 3 without any effort.

Someone on the wiki mentioned that the service rifle could be in 5mm, like the AK-112. I think that's plausible. It might not be 5.56 after all.

That is not inconsistant with Josh's declaration that the round it fires would not be considered a full sized battle round. That would also move us closer to realizing which caliber is the red-haired step-child. Candidates remaining: .50MG, .45-70, 12.7mm, 5mm, BB & .44 magnum.

Nope, we know there's a .44 Mag Revolver. Josh has mentioned it before, I believe.

I'm starting to think it's actually the BB, because unless there's a BB pistol as well, what else would fire it?

Also, I think http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1112926-weapons-mods-and-ammo-mega-thread/page__view__findpost__p__16327240 post suggests there will be an 1886 lever action in .45-70.

I remember when Josh posted that, It was when we were all guessing what the .45-70 firearm could be. I guessed the good ol' Winchester 1886 Lever-Action would be the weapon, who knows maybe its in? :tops:
