Weapons, Mods and Ammo Mega-Thread #7

Speaking of concealable weapons, has there been any word on punch-daggers? That'd a small, silent weapon. Also, a better knife for that sort of situation is the Fairbairn & Sykes Fighting knife, it's small and slim enough to simply slip up into a wrist sheath under your sleeve and long and slim enough to easily penetrate between ribs and slice throats.

I don't think so? The closet thing to punch knives would be the spiked knuckles probably. @.46ACP Did you count the shotgun glove thing sawyer talked about on here? ( I think it was sawyer? Someone quoted it)

Don't see how it could.
Only automatic energy weapons are flamer, incinerator and gatling laser.
Don't think that anyone has the resources or knowledge to create one.
Maybe with the exception of Shi (Who's not in this game) and Enclave (who's presence is fairly limited).

and another organization with very intelligent people that have schematics of Plasma weaponry / even a very, very ingenious scientist/gun maker that could make that weapon, if he/she has the schematic to build plasma weaponry, which is owned by the Enclave/ Shi, if he/she ever manged to steal/ get his/hands on them .......

I was just thinking that a mod where you could build a dune buggy type vehicle from scavenged parts would be cool. A tube picked up here and a tire there etc and they could be combined to make a buggy. Then have various parts you could add at a speed and handling penalty to have more armour or load carrying capacity. I wish i had the smarts to make something like that for the game.

A traveling gunsmith would be nice as well where you could buy more custom parts for your weapons. Kind of like the items Metro 2033 has. There is a basic pistol, basic with suppressor, basic with longer barrel, then from there you extend the barrel more and add a stock etc. Just little details like that made the game better and more personal. With the stalker series they had a similar deal but you just didnt get the custom feel i had with 2033.

All in all im really looking forward to all the custom features and will definaltly try to learn the GECK this time.

Also, "Love and Hate" which seems to be some kind of unique? unarmed weapon on both hands. It is either punch daggers or some kind of bladed or spiked knuckles. You can see the pip-boy entry when the player brings it up to switch to the Cattle Prod. Obviously a play on the "love" and "hate" tatoos many *folks* get on their knuckles. Probably spiked knuckles, I reckon.

I'd guess some sort of knuckles too, maybe the full show tonight will have more for you and this thread :) (I'm going to try to catch it online tomorrow morning if it isn't region locked like some streams)

I just looked at the vid again and it is definitely unarmed, skill min 50, min ST 0. The Vault-boy icon shows Love and Hate on both hands and they seem to have blades sticking out. So maybe these are a unique set of bladed gaunltets? The damage was pretty high, something like 87 or so.

Went over the vid again and your correct, although I see a ST requirement of 3.
I wanna say that vault boy display of the weapon is the same as the spiked knuckles, but I've searched and can't find a pic for comaparison

That's more likely. I left my eyeball enhancement devices (or as we used to call them in the Corps, my BCDs) in the truck. I cannot attest the to accuracy of my unaided observations. Crap, gettin' old svcks.

he he, I know what you mean, I've been wearing glasses since I was about 10, so that makes it 29 years or so lol.
And that's one of the reasons, if it's an option, I always hit the HD/HQ button on a stream, let it start, hit pause, go browse for a few minutes and come back and watch it once it's buffered the whole thing in HD goodness :)

I have two air rifles and both of them could definatly penetrate skin. I mean obviously they are not as powerful as real guns but someone with the intent could probably kill with 3-5 well placed shots.

Oh, you mean BCGs? That's what they call them in the Chair Force. :celebration:

They make air rifles that are capable of killing buffalo. I think that knocking someone out with one is not out of the question, nor is killing them.
I think that the "red ryder" style BB gun from Fallout 3 will need a high powered hop-up system before it can do that sort of damage though.

It could've been that. It didn't show the name and it didn't look like that. It was green and looked like a Repconn rocket. it had the posideon energy emblem on the back. You might be able to see it on G4's site.

@.46ACP you should add this and the hatchet to your weapons list.

Lewis and Clark wowed the native americans with an air rifle, one that they definitely hunted with. Maybe killed some buffalo. It's been a while since I read my Ambrose.

Are you going to share with the rest of the class, or just leave us envious and confused?

Yep, if you go to the X-play thread there's a link to it.

It looks more like a plasma pistol than a laser pistol, if only because of the green glow and the later shot where a gecko gets turned into goo, though that could be a different plasma weapon being used there.
