Weapons, Mods and Ammo Mega-Thread #7

Post » Fri Feb 04, 2011 10:22 am

New Thread. Gotta do a little research and count up all the confirmed weapons and compare them to the FO3 list to see if we're at "more than twice as many" yet. Be right back with the numbers.

Well here's the numbers as close as I can figure:

FO3 vanilla non-uniques
Unarmed - 4
Melee - 15
Small Guns - 15
Big Guns - 6
Energy - 6
Explosives - 8
TOTAL - 54

FONV confirmed (I'll even include the speculated .223)
Unarmed - 5
Melee - 30 (includes unnamed long sword)
Guns - 27 (plus 3 new unnamed weapons minimum)
Energy - 13
Explosives - 9
TOTAL - 84

Must be gettin close. Almost double. And we're still got another weapon in three of these four calibers coming: .45-70, .50MG, 12.7 and BB.

Just for the hell of it, here's a list of FO3 weapons available for inclusion (ie: models already made and easy to include) with my prediction of likelyhood of inclusion (High chance, decent chance, poor chance)

Spiked Knuckles
Deathclaw Gauntlet
Pool Que
Rolling pin
Police Baton (Wait. I've seen one of these. It's in.)
Switchblade (same with this. I remember confirming this a long time ago from pip-boy shots in the e3 trailer)
Combat knife (this also)
Lead Pipe
Chinese Officer's Sword
Ripper
Steel Saw
Auto Saw

Shovel
Axe

Shock Baton
Chinese Pistol
.32 Pistol
Silenced 10mm Pistol
BB Gun
Dart Gun
Scoped .44 Magnum

Assualt Rifle
Chinese Assault Rifle

Infiltrator
Lever-Action Rifle

Railway Rifle
Sawed-off Shotgun

Combat Shotgun
Double Barrel Shotgun
Alien Blaster
Mesmatron
Tesla Cannon
Alien Atomizer
Alien Disintegrator

Rock-it Launcher
Heavy Incinerator
Drone Cannon

Pulse Grenade
Pulse Mine
Plasma Grenade
Plasma Mine
Frag Mine
Bottlecap Mine

Nuka-Grenade
Cryo-Grenade
Cryo-mine

That's a total of 46 more weapons that the models are already made and just waiting for inclusion. There are some that would make no sense to include, ie: Nuka Grenade, the Alien weapons, maybe the Henry styled Lever-Actions, but I bet a whole bunch of these will end up in the game. I mean, why not? The hard work's already done. All they would have to do was knock a few numbers around in the geck to balalnce them a little better. Right?

Righto. Well here's the numbers as close as I can figure:

FO3 vanilla non-uniques

Big Guns - 6
Energy - 6
Explosives - 8
TOTAL - 44

FONV confirmed (I'll even include the speculated .223)
Unarmed - 5
Melee - 24
Guns - 26
Energy - 13
Explosives - 8
TOTAL - 76

Must be gettin close. Almost double. And we're still got another weapon in three of these four calibers coming: .45-70, .50MG, 12.7 and BB.

Edit: the wiki still doesn't have the Knife, so 24 melee.

Yes. I did include craftable weapons from FO3.

Edit: Oops. Forgot the CyberCattle WackerThingieProd. Also, for your viewing ease, I've pasted the numbers to the top of the thread.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure I got most of them. Nope. Just remembered the CyberChainSaw Thingie. That's not on the wiki either.

Thats what people think is the cattle prod, wether its unlimited like the shock baton or runs on energy cells like 1 & 2 is unknown.

Or it could just be the police baton or a wooden club as you said.

We're on our 7th thread good job guys!

Also in the newest Dev Diary the M1 Garand looked even more badass, I have a feeling its going to be my most used weapon until I find something better that also has some WWII history behind it. :tops:

They might've taken out some of the weapons in FO3, so we might be getting even much more than revealed thus far.

Hi guys this is the first time I checked out one of these threads, very cool. I am happy to see that the number of vanilla weapons has increased substantially. But explosives are the same or do they have some new ones and let old ones go?............since the number still stands at 8.

We have time bombs that are a new craftable explosive from dynamite and duct tape and some kind of oven timer.

I'm not counting any FO3 weapons that haven't been confirmed yet. Only solid confirmed FONV weapons.

Crap. Time bombs. OK, editing the top to add. Forgot them too. Also, most of the grenades and mines from FO3 have not been confimed, but I'm rather certain they'll be in, so that would add 7 more explosives right there.

Keep 'em coming. If i'ts not http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_weapons and you remember it from somewhere post it. My memory's mush tonight.

Check the preview mega thread for the first official trailer. The PC throws an incindiary grenade at some Lakelurks. Maybe you can freeze it and see it there.

Well being that it's an incendiary grenade it might look different anyway.

EDIT: Hey Enduring Protectron I found some info that shows hollow points can be jammed with cyanide to kill people
so I'm not counting it out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbionese_Liberation_Army#Murder_of_Marcus_Foster.

Yeah I know how those look but I meant the frag grenade. Will it still have that yellow look with the suitcase lock thing on it.

I hope it looks like the http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/20/MkII_07.JPG used by American Forces in WWII. (I honestly can't remember using Grenades at all in FO3 so I really don't know what they look like, hopefully not like the MkII.) :tops:

A new look for the frag seems like ones of those things that will either be changed because its easily enough done or because its a pretty small detail it won't be. Obsidian strikes me as a company who appreciates the fine details so here's hoping!
