Werebears and Spears... maybe next DLC? #2

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 1:59 am

I agree, playing as an argonian without spears is like playing as a nord without axes.
Idk why spears didnt make it into DG. Maybe they are making sure the animations and mechanics are 100%

Two DLCs about lycanthropes, shapeshifters or wolves is just plain redundant and boring . 80% of the people asking for all those werewolf and werebear additions are just werewolf fanatics with either the word "werewolf"in their pseudonym and/or picture ... I hope they won't add it because honestly ? You'd get bored after 5 minutes , it would be just too similar to werewolves

No they wouldn't. And it would be optional. I'm not asking for a DLC dedicated to just werebears, we just want them included.

LIke VideoGameMage said. We're not asking for a Were based DLC!! We just want them in Skyrim.

Yes they would , what other moves can you have apart from swipes and power charges ? + Check the gamejam, animations for running and attacking are the same... Werebear is just a skin

That's where they can get creative. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1400513-an-idea-of-how-vampires-and-werewolves-could-have-been-done-thread-5/.

You could say the same about people who want Dwemer and Falmer DLC and it's not like werebears are the only thing that I like in TES. I just feel like lycanthropes have got the short end of the stick since every game after daggerfall.

From what I've read of the OP, Calling a move "Roar" doesn't prevent it from being almost identical do "howl"... And I don't like the idea of calculating the damage based on Two-handed skill, it excludes 80 % of the rest of the DLC's potential buyers

Falmer and Dwemer are lorewise, questwise and anything else wise 100 times richer than werebears if not more
I disagree, the devs have made an effort for werewolves compared to Oblivion... And I'd love to see what a lycanthrope looks like in Daggerfall, heh

And I know werebears are very present in lore etcetera ... But you don't hear about them once in the game, if you want a reference to them you have to read books

I just think that if the devs didn't put werebears in the game, it's because there's a reason, they didn't just "forget them"

That's the point we already have loads of stuff about dwemer, why have more?

And the reason why Bethesda didn't add werebears to the game is most likely because of time constraints.

I disagree with that as well. They didn't put some things in skyrim, because they wanted to make sure it go out on the 11-11-11 release date. I still think there's a chance that werebears might be added.

That was just an example of what beth could do with werebears. And like I said I don't want DLC revolving around werebears I just want them included. It would be completely optional. No one would be forced to become one(unlike with werewolves).

Okay, but for the addition not to be gimmicky , you'd have to be introduced to this form through a questline, about the length of a guild, just like the other forms ... Which would end up being more or less the focus of the DLC... If it isn't done like that it'll just feel like it was thrown into the pack don't you think ?

Good point. I always thought it would be nice if it were a side quest involving Hircine.

We aren't asking for a "were" based DLC idk why people think that if they add werebears thats all it will be. We're asking for maybe a side quest or somthing...

If it's only a sidequest it will be unbalanced and gimmicky compared to the two other shapeshifting modes who each have a guild questline , people will complain about that in reviews and Bethesda did get mixed reviews from Dawnguard already I doubt they would take the risk of throwing it in

People will complain about anything though. And I don't think werebears would need a guild associated with it. I mean if bethesda did a huge DLC they could implement a guild for werebears without it being the main focus. But that would be wishful thinking. :sadvaultboy:

It doesn't have to be a side quest. (could be) but they could put them in the wild. Also making it a side quest wont make it the "focus" of the DLC. Take DG for example, your hunting down Vampires ( or becoming one) and oh whats that a farm thats destroyed. You find the farmer and he tells you that a "bear" did it hunt him down turns out its a werebear and you get infected. Trust me werebears don't have to be the "focus" of the next DLC!!

I'm saying that they won't for Skyrim. I would love expansion pack that large, but I dobut they will. There would be a better chance for that in TES 6 on the next console cycle. I'm sure there will be more DLC besides DG and Heart fire and there's a chane Heart Fire ( if thats is in fact the next DLC) could be the size of Shivering Isles, but I doubt Beth will make 2 that size.

I agree with you, but I'm just saying I don't see 2 expansions that big on the current consoles.
