Werebears and Spears... maybe next DLC? #2

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 1:53 am

Werebears are featured in many rpg's like Diablo 2 and tabletop rpg's like Dungeons & Dragons. They're also in Native American mythology, Norse sagas(Hrolfs saga Kraka) and novels like "The Hobbit". So why not Skyrim, Daggerfall had two lycanthropes. Plus werebears are in the lore.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1394261-werebears-and-spears-maybe-next-dlc/

An example by Littlewing on how werebears and werewolves can be balanced.

Just imagine, werebears playing more like a slow heavy armored warriors and having the ability to sprint and knock down people like the gamejam. Also when werebears sprint they should gobble up stamina(an idea from REL_Dovahkin), so you would have to be tactical on when you should sprint. They would also be all around slower then werewolves, so it may take awhile to get to your enemies, but when you do it would be a massacre.

As for werewolves, they would be more like light armored assassins and would basically have the same health and attack they do now with the perk tree. But by adding sneak, it would complement for them for having no defence and there would be a 5x multiplier for assassinations. So as a werewolf, you could enter a fort kill most bandits by sneaking and if you're caught you could either summon spectral werewolves and use them for distraction as you creep back into the darkness or you could join the spectral werewolves and use your speed to kill the bandits.

Here's some pictures of how werebears could look like.

As for spears I'd like Iron to Daedric with Artifacts too like Hircine's http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Bloodmoon:Spear_of_the_Hunter from Bloodmoon included.

Haha you used my profile pic! You have some good points, like bringing up Hrolf's saga Kraka.

Skyrim's steel weapons have nordic symbols on them, so if bethesda adds steel spears I assume they will too.

the usual iron to daedric weapons system is boring. We need new types and unique weapons.

Beth isn't going to add new wepon types Iron- Daedric is all we'll get. So people need to stop asking.

It isn't to far fetched to add new materials for weapons, like how beth added the dragon bone weapons for example.

Since when did I ask for guns in new type of weapons? of course they would never add guns to elder scrolls.

If Werebears are part of the next DLC, I hope it's as a "hey, this isn't the focus but it's cool" addition, kinda like the Dragonbone weapons and arrow/bolt smithing in Dawnguard. They could just use the same perk tree as werewolves.

I would love spears though. I didn't jump into the Elder Scrolls until Oblivion so I missed out on them completely.

Looking at the pictures you have listed, I like the Tamriel Rebuilt concept art the most.

I never said "werewolf_fan188" asked for guns. If I did I would have quoted you or said you specifically. I'm just saying in general people asking for dumb things like guns.

I don't want it to be the focous either. Maybe a side quest to Hircine's grounds to get his spear and contract the disease there or something?

I agree, I'm no asking for an expansion focusing only on werebears either, but as I said in earlier theads, beth could add them in a sidequest(like lost to the ages in Dawnguard) or wild werebears so we can get infected be them.

I used spears a little in Morrowind and I was not very impressed so not a weapon of my choice, however, I am completely in support of werebears. :D
