When I say that I would like a smart woman I mean a woman who knows that earth goes around the sun not the other way around, universe is 14 billion years old, who is the Queen of England, usual stuff everyone should know. Smartness also means good decision making and organization. And eyeglasses, because chicks with glasses is like 1 + 1 = 2.

How is the age of the world any more useful or relevant to daily life than knowing who invented the light bulb? I ask that as a completely serious question. By all means, fix my ignorance.

At least in Finland it's one of the basic things everyone learns in school. If you can't say any estimation to a big, vague question like the age of the universe it means you didn't listen at school and thus you don't really qualify as a smart person.

It is not relevant I know, and it's not the question I go asking people, I just made up a few vague questions that you are more likely to know than something as trivial as if Edison made the first light bulb or that - what - Scottish guy.

Not exactly. It could be a religious thing. Some people are religious to the view that a girl who's had pre-marital six is 'soiled' as marriage material. I've never met the type personally, but it does exist.

I agree, and most of the religious people I know are quite level headed. But in general, I think the 'Wholesome virgin girl' is still a strong social attitude. Guy sleeps with 100 girls=What a cool guy, girl sleeps boyfriend of 3 years= insta-[censored].
