Warcraft before WoW ruined it. Diablo has some pretty good lore. Sadly, Starcraft's lore is pretty bad.

Also, the Marathon series has pretty good lore for a linear shooter.

Indie games interest me the most because I like seeing what new things people are coming up with.
Skyrims also been interesting lately.

I never noticed it said lore, so to fix that my favourites are: Fallout and resident Evil, been reading about them for ages now :)

I was always amazed how mutch lore Starwars seemed to have. I only know of the movies

That, I didn't know
Well, real world conspiracy theories. That's what I should've said. :P

Fallout's lore is interesting, but the Pre-War lore fascinates me. The robots, the machines, the culture, etc.
Indeed. I wish to find more about Europe. I belive it all merged into one superpower, then got into a war with the mid east over resources.

I would like to see more of them, maybe have a future fallout where you see other places sending scouts around, and a few have found America or something.
Maybe then if they brought back the enclave too it could put them in a good light, and crush any new civilistaions, leaving future games more post apocalyptic. Even Mr Avellone wants the NCR/Legion/vegas gone.

Diablo 1 & 2
Starcraft 1
Heretic/Hexen
Quest for Glory 1-5
Demons Crest
Act Raiser 1&2
Daggerfall (because the daedra are cooler than in any other TES game, & everything is more dynamic & political)
Portal 1 & 2
Witcher 1 & 2 (The lore, graphics and cinematics are the only good things about the 2nd one IMO)
BG/ID/PT & other D&D
Vampire: Masquerade Bloodlines
Splatterhouse 1, 2 & 3 (Not that new garbage)
Shinobi 3
Duke Nukem 1,2 & 3D
Commander Keen
1st C&C & 1st Red Alert (both with expansions)
Warcraft & Warcraft 2 + expansion
Smart Ball
Joe & Mac

And probably around 350 others that I won't go into.

Edit: But just for everyone's sake: Destroy All Humans!

I'd really rather they don't renuke it. That's a cop out ending of the worst kind. I think it's better to rebuild society in bits and pieces. We've only explore the Las Vegas corner of Nevada, California and parts of states north of it, Reno Nevada, DC, Point Lookout Maryland, and Chicago. (THE SERIES NEVER WENT TO TEXAS. NEVER EVER EVER. :stare: ) Still got a good 80% of the US to explore.

Well the Illuminati and the Knights Templar are two big names, and names like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majestic_12 also weren't made up by the devs. There are theories about how
Spoiler
a deliberately caused national emergency would allow FEMA to take control of the country, taking the power away from the government.
and that's exactly what happens in the game.

Star Wars lore is the one I'm the biggest nerd about. My other favourites are Starcraft, Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Star Wars lore

At the risk of sounding silly, where else did Star Wars lore come from other than movies and games?
