What game lore do you find most interesting?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 10:53 am

Basically, what I am asking is what other lore from other games do you find compelling or interesting?

I like TES lore the most but I would rather not have this OP a tl;dr gush thread so disucuss!

I really liked Resistance's lore. The intel was really interesting, and it made you feel like a hero trying to save a dying world.

Wait, lore... From games that aren't TES? Madness and Heresy.

Fallout's lore.

World of Warcraft

Starcraft

Bioshock

TES's lore is a bit convoluted for me.

Probably AC and TES, but its leaning for to AC.

I love the whole idea of Pieces of Eden and the Templars etc...
I love how Templar and Assassins have been linked with all of the major events in history and how the pieces of eden tie into it all.

Fallout. Oddly enough Mass Effect, I was and still am a gigantic nerd on it. Hence why every little change can sadden me. Minor Star Wars and 40k lore nerd.

Warcraft III?

Oddly enough pre-WoW also includes WC 2 and 1. Weird right? And yes to all 3 games.

I didn't know what you meant by Pre-Wow, I am not a Warcraft guy.

My apologies.

Deus Ex's is pretty interesting, and Human Revolution expands on it nicely. It's cool that it's all based on real world conspiracies, too.

Fallout's lore is interesting, but the Pre-War lore fascinates me. The robots, the machines, the culture, etc.
Bioshock is a very lore rich game as well. I love so much about it, Rapture, the history behind it's conception, and the civil war.
I also liked Oblivions lore, I cant say I enjoy TES lore since I've only played Oblivion.

I like Assassins Creed, but I'm not to up-to-date on it. I know a lot of TES. I amaze some of my friends with the stuff I know in the games.

TES Lore is good. I actually really enjoy the "lore" of WoW, despite its lack of cohesion. The way they handled LK and the continent of Northrend and all the intertwining stories was pretty awesome....

One game that I tried to get as much info as I could has been the Batman games. Obviously it has more material to reference than just the games but I find it interesting how Rocksteady basically mashed all of the different eras and styles of Batman together to create a universe that includes a little bit of it all. You get the darker more serious version of the Riddler, next to the more animated and I guess more comic Joker( at least compared to Heath Ledgers take on the madman)
