The ability to place bear traps, and have bear traps actually keep their victim restrained for a few seconds while they work free, damaging health each second the victim is struggling to free itself. (To simulate further damage being caused while attempting to escape.) People, having hands and being somewhat intelligent would suffer less damage per second than a beast would because the beast would simply tear and rip until it got free whereas a person would use their hands to pry the jaws apart enough to get out.
Better companion AI. Really...
A player-governed settlement/town. Not a major city but a small settlement. Perhaps a farming community, mining outpost, or a trading post. Maybe a restored fort or something similar. The player should have complete (relatively) creative control over its development. Player pays for defenses to be built. Guards hired. Crops if a farming settlement, etc. etc. There would of course need to be specific areas where the settlement could be built, but only one may be built. There should also be limits on how much improvement the player can commission. Walls as an example, can go from lvl 0 nothing, to lvl 1 fences, to lvl 2 wooden walls, to lvl 3 stone walls. The player should be able to set a small tax payable by all (if any) shop keepers in his settlement. The higher the tax, the less likely shopkeepers are to stick around. The players tax income would be determined of course by it's percentage, 5, 10, 15, or 20% and also by how prosperous the settlement is. If there are many residents then logically the shopkeepers will do more business. I really could elaborate on this idea all day. In fact I think I'll make a special topic for it since I lack the knowledge to do something this ambitious myself.
A blacksmithing and smelter recipe overhaul. Some of the recipes just seem to me the be off. I would also like to be able to make my own arrows. And also all pieces of dwemer metal should be usable at the smelter, and all of the existing recipes should be tweaked so that all dwarven artifacts give a uniform weight to ingot ratio. 2 to 1 as an example. Every 2 pounds of dwemer metal artifact junk results in one ingot. In the case of items with an odd weight, such as 3 or 5 or 25. The last pound is returned as a Dwarven Metal Chunk that weighs 1 pound. 2 of these chunks could then be converted into a single ingot. Also, ingots that require 2 ore to make a single ingot should then weigh two pounds, not one. - I could probably do this mod myself, once the CK is released.
And lastly, I would like to see a mod that allows the player to make notes about specific locations on their map. Like for example, if I find a mine with an abundance of a specific rare ore, I would like to be able to note that so I always remember where to go for that ore.
