Anyone give a real assessment of the length of the dlc? Maybe compare it to other dlcs.

If you take your time, and explore all the caves, and do the side quest the DLC is quite long. Also depends on your level. My level 30 OP character did it in 7 hours taking my time. My hardcoe, very hard mode, level 15 character however...... stupid bears.....QQ

I honestly think that it was kinda short i found all the caves all the places talked to everyone it only took me like 4 hours thats with me on here as well talking explaining answer questions and playing at the same time.
On the other hand i did enjoy it plus i love the new pistol tho i never found the survivalist and i dont like Daniel all that much after seeing good endings for him...
Also dont like how at the end
Spoiler
you get all the good for no reason at all

My friend told me about that spoiler, and i have to agree with him it kinda makes the ability to return seem pointless.

I think the only reason youd return would be to find places you missed and grind enemies if they keep respawning

Ya i must admit.. i heard those "guys" saying.. "AH HECK took me 30 hours to finish New Vegas.."
and then there is me.. 140 hours and still finding new things.
I am enjoying the expansion.. i played 4 hours tonight and put a dent in it maybe.
I like it and the story line and characters are really good.. again imo
its not a race.. and noone thinks your cool if you beat the keyboard speed record for beating a game..lol
you really beat yourself by skipping tons of entertainment value.
and on the second play though and a different build even more and more is opening up that didnt the first way i played it.

i liked the dlc, i'm about half way thru...or 3/4, it keeps crashing after me and bear hand girl fast travel. Considering that eating at dariy queen after work costs about 10 dollars (with a shake instead of a soda) i would say that this dlc is worth the money. Also how cool is it to see the rain!!!

I agree with him. If you guys don't, well it's not my place to say but maybe you need to play through it first before flaming this guy.

agreed, and yet..still playing, and having a ton of fun exploring the area :o, even as an explosive build character, im still having sh*ts and giggles (and jumps) from the enemies of the wildlife, the characters, the exploration, and the hilarious spawn points (a White Leg out of nowhere just appeared before me, and in 2 seconds, died to me screaming WHAT THE [censored]?! while blasting away with This Machine...that and when his mongrel came out, i used the avenger on it..poor guy >.>)

Fine by me if you agree with him, but, like you said, I made it a playthtough, and I have a reason to talk to the OP and say that he rushed the game, its impossible to complete in 30 minutes, 3 or 7 hour yes, but 30 minutes? also, not all of us felt like we ripped off, I just want to say this,

Well, I am enjoying it. I've been doing a lot of long range sniping and rocket launching, sneaking around and exploring, and a lot of talking. Not quite as interesting as Point Lookout, but significantly better then Dead Money in terms of my default playstyle. I'm near the end and there are a few places i've missed, i think, so I will likely replay it a time or two. However, this DLC shares the same basic issue I have with FO:NV, in that the map is a lot smaller than it could be, and the story is sufficiently railroaded that i don't feel the need to replay due to story. That said, I enjoyed the story, and especially like the Legion background material and the "terminal story".

I'll be looking forward to the next DLC which, hopefully, will be a bit more sandbox.

So, I recommend this DLC. I can see how players interested in more of a FPS are going to be disappointed, but if you like to explore, or if you like to sneak and snipe, you will likely enjoy it.

i would like to see more of the map , and less linear game play , thats the problem .

I doubt he completed it in 30 minutes and believe it was posted there was a time misunderstanding. Btw I finished it all in about four hours. If you didn't feel ripped off good, I'll leave it at that.

Obsidian developed the DLC, Bethesda are the publishers, so far the only thing that you can blame Bethesda is the huge delay

Not quite. You can blame Obsidian for having to spend so much time on a patch to fix problems in the vanilla game.
