what a ripoff!

i was disappointed with the perks mostly. almost no real character development potential with those. it's like they didn't even try.

however, i like the new items, the new location, and some of the new crafting potential. though a lot of it feels like it should've been included to begin with. i like the dlc, but still feel like i was milked for money.

Yup, disappointingly short.

So, finished first run in about 5.5 hours, with "some" messing around. I'm well into my second run, and I'm doing a lot more exploring, and I have about 4 hours in and am about half way into the main quest. I say again: If you like exploring, it's going to take quite some time to see everything. if you want to beat the thing as quickly as possible, you can do that in a few hours, but IMO, if you are playing that way, you are probably playing the wrong franchise to start with.

The biggest issue I'm having now with it is there there isn't enough to shoot at, but this is similar to FO:NV in that respect. It would be more interesting, for example, to have some random patrols, snipers in the cliffs, etc. that respawn after a day or two. There are plenty points of interest, and I think Obsidian did a better job of making them a bit more interesting this time around.

The arms and armor was especially well done, I think. I particularly enjoy the Tommy gun in a spray-n-pray-sort of way. The sounds of the .45 and the Thompson are especially well done, I think. There's nothing like emptying a drum into a giant sport plant with the gun sounding off and the brass clinking all over.

The story is still somewhat linear for me, but part of that is that i only want to do the quest in one way for ethical reasons. Your mileage may vary here.

Overall, I like this better than Dead Money, and I like the trend of more open gameplay. I'll give it a 9/10, and I would encourage Obsidian to keep up the good work. With a little more practice, they might actually regain a bit more of my respect in their ability to create a sandbox (if not sandbox-ish) game.

It took me 6 hours both times through (so 12 hours total), and neither of those times did I actually *fully* explore Zion. I'm still missing a handful of landmarks and caves.

This DLC is definitely not a rip-off. Not for me, anyway. I loved it.

If your looking for things to shoot for xp then you dont need to worry you get so much xp from the quests thats its pretty much impossible not to be level well 39 when you leave i came in at leave 35 so if you start the game from scratch and you go in and do the quests your looking at like maybe 15 levels easy....

Is this a joke?

It took me 4,5 hours minimum during my first rush playthrough, and like 6 hours during the second, competionist one.

Operation Anchorage was by far the shortest of any FO3 DLCs. The Pitt was pretty short but there was still plenty to discover vs. OA where there was basically nothing to find aside from intel until the DLC was completely finished. I've personally played alot of games that costed $60 that took me that long or just slightly longer.

OA was harder. The Pitt was too short, too easy. I though it was the worst dlc. Seeing HH being compaired to it is bad IMO.

I ll still get it soon as ps store is back up. For $14.00 I can t go wrong.

The length of time between expansions built up expectations for this DLC.

I put in about 3-4 hours so far and have been entertained. I do not complete games quickly, so I figure I've got quite a bit left to do. Even if I complete it in about 10 hours (probably not), I figure that $1 per hour of entertainment isn't too bad. Plus, the guns will get some use beyond HH....as well as the increased level cap.

I don't understand why people don't like it. It has new weapons, perks, area, a place you can return, weather. FO3 is worse in my opinion because a totally different company made it. At least here NV was made by the company that made the first hundred or so games  if I'm not mistaken. The story makes sense because they knew the whole thing from the start. I love this DLC.

The DLC isn't short by any length...
However, it's obviously not perfect. My major complaints are I wish that there were more guns (.45 is a welcome improvement though) and I thought the story and the quests went by way to fast. I enjoyed the end quest greatly (killing the White Legs) and it felt a lot like the battle for Hoover dam, except you had Joshua Graham as your companion. I wish they would have developed Daniel's story a tad more before starting the end quest and I wish you could complete all options within a quest before completing it. Overall, it's a good DLC and I enjoyed it and will definitely play it again once I start a new character. Here's My Grading:

The Right Stuff:
Beautiful surroundings +1
Improved Graphics +1
Large Map/ Area +3 (30 locations+ overlook areas+Rain)
New Weapons/ New Perks +2
Joshua Graham +2
Two Endings +1
Cool Tribal Enemies+1
Lots of unique quests+1
Green Geckos and Yao Guai+1
It feels like a park +1
Cool Ambush in the Beginning+2
Total: 16

The Not So Good Stuff
Short Quests-1
Daniel's Character isn't developed (imo) -1
I wish you could have got know the members of caravan before they were wiped out-1
It feels like a fast story-1
Enemies are somewhat easy to kill at higher character levels-1
Wish there was more loot-1
Was released late-1
I don't believe you can side with the White Legs-1
Total: -8
Overall: 16-8= 8/10= Good DLC overall

I believe updates and patches can fix or improve some of my gripes with the DLC, so I hope Bethesda/Obsidian continues to patch the game

Not a bad listing...I agree with most of it. As far as getting to know the caravaners, you can talk up the three of them before you set out. The one with the vault suit was quite fun.

It was horrible. Way to short for my $10 and I didn't rush through it. I feel ripped off not because of the short amount game play time with this, I feel ripped off because of the lack of character development.

I'm not sure what happened, but on my way to get the bad guy everyone became hostile to me and I had to kill everyone. :/ Is that a glitch or did I shoot someone I shouldn't have? Everyone I shot was red on me.

The most important part of the game to me is story line. I can play black ops for my shootum-up and I do, but Fallout always has a story to tell. That's why I have played them since before it was fallout and called "Wasteland".

Don't get me wrong, its a must have. It tells part of the story and I would wonder if I hadn't gotten it. (I didn't get "The Pit" and I really wish I had.) My point is that I think that the story didn't develop very well.

Things I would have like to have seen...

More critters.
More about "Happy Trails".
More costume variation between factions.

I can't just blow in a gripe without telling you what would have made me happier. Thanks for the effort Bethesda. Your grade is a solid C.

i downloaded at 6am , took a nap from 10 am to 1pm , completed the dlc at 1:30. how can they put out dlc that should have been in the game , and charge 10 bucks ? come on !!!! fallout 3 was better ! more content would have been nice . all it is is the rest of Caesar's legion story and enough with the hints , it builds excitement , like i had for this dlc and then you get a mediocre dlc at best . shame on you Bethesda , SHAME !!

Dude don't blame bethesda they have enough complaints about glitches and stuff so if your going to blame someone blame obsidian it should have ben there responsibility in the first place

Only played about an hour, but I've really enjoyed it so far. The new bad guys, sights, guns. I really like the .45 auto. Nice gun! I didn't kill the wrong guy, but I almost did. I haven't completed any missions yet really, so I haven't gone very far and it's already taken me an hour... It lacks the urgency of Dead Money, but I really enjoyed DM and don't get why so many people hated it. That said, I've enjoyed ALL the FO DLC from 3 and NV... so... good job everyone?

I've got to be honest(excuse the pun), I was disappointed with Honest Hearts. When I see a new DLC for Fallout I get it for two reasons, story and exploring. Maybe I was spoiled with the expansions for Fallout 3, I don't know. As of so far New Vegas has had two releases and in my opinion both are sub par and not memorable at all. Before you ask, yes I've explored everywhere, and finished the quests. Like I said, maybe Fallout 3 spoiled me and I've come to expect better things. Or maybe Fallout 3's packs were overachieving and now we're seeing what the future holds. Either way it's getting difficult to shell out 800 points for something that seems unfinished and uninspired. Take it for what you will, as I said it's merely my opinion.

I was dissapointed with the length as well: and I found 6/6 caches and located every location in zion park, as well as completing both endings. It seemed even shorter than Dead Money and Dead Money seemed shorter than any fallout 3 DLC.

Dead Money was more larger then O:A and Pitt, you really cannot rush that DLC without getting killed by collars

Yes you're right it was more length, but it was a lot less content. quicksave/quickload try again doesn't really mean content.

It had less quests, less items and less side content. In fact there was no side content. At least the Pitt had optional side quests and exploration.

No most reviews say 4-5 hours if you just rushing through the main story and don't do anything else, so if you explore you should be able to easily double that time if not more.

Good point. But remove the collars and you've got an expansion pack that would take a lunch hour to get through at most.
