What do you rename your items when enchanting?

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 1:56 am

Soulfire - fiery soul trap and fire enchant's - sword - ebony

Shock Shot - shock and magic damage - bow - daedric

Life Drain - absorb health stamina - greatsword - ebony

Firebrand - fire - mace - daedric

Zapper - shock and absorb magic - axe - daedric

Tinkle Death - Frost and shock - sword - glass (I couldn't resist, atleast I didn't use Brisingr, Ice, or Sting)

Weight Walkers - Fortify carry and stamina - boots - glass (hilarious to me for some reason)

Witch Fingers - Fortify magic and one handed - gauntlets - daedric

I have too many more to list but those above are some favourites. Does anyone have some really good sneaky thief names? I can never think of anything good for sneaky stuff.

I mostly give things boring names, but one point is that if I have two things that go together, like a necklace and ring of magic resistance, I start them with the same word so that they are next to each other in my inventory. Like "magic shield ring" & "magic shield necklace" or something.

I called my bow "The Knee". It allows me to put an arrow in The Knee each time I want to shoot one.

Somthing fitting and 'loreful'. I.e with a Nord I'd name a weapon in Old Norse.

I am a duel wielding thief/assassin that has enchantment to 100 but I don't wear any armor at all, only clothes, playing expert.

I have renamed my scimitars Curved Swords

Curved Sword of Life and Death (Absorb health, absorb souls)
Curved Sword of Frozen Shock (Ligthing and Frost Damage)

But I don't really use them anymore, they're retired. I use the Nightingale sword even though its damage level is lower and the Blade of Woe or Mehunes (sp.?) Razor. It looks better with my character and still inflicts massive damage.

The others are simpler:

Black dress of Health (Increase health, increase health reg.) This is the Mourner's Clothes. Looks nice for a female character wearing only clothes.

Black boots of Stamina (Increase stamina, increase stamina reg.)

Gloves of Shadowy Death (Increase stealth and one-handed damage)

Circlet of Magicka (Increase Magicka and magicka reg) - I use restoration as opposed to potions.

just off of the top of my head...ragnarok, armageddon, hati's fang+skoll's fang (twin daggers), black-birds-cry, shadow's embrace, the true melancholy (well, i have not made a demoralize weapon in skyrim yet, but it will get this name), soul ripper, to name a few

I've noticed something on here that I have to ask (its a bit off topic, but indulge me)

Many of you have two different effects on your weapons/gear... how do you do that?

I thought you could only pick one.

I don't care about the names of my armour, so to get them at the top of my inventory I name them
1. AAA
2.AAB
3.AAC
etc etc.

I called mine Soulbreaker & Soultaker. Soul Trap & Lightning Damage.

I'm thinking about doing the next ones with Life Steal & ??, but the steal life enchant effect, even at the highest level does not have enough charges, and makes Ebony Blade (infinite charge) a liittle more special.

Eh, if only they get to make Dragonbone weapons, I can make an Ebony War Axe and Dragonbone War Axe, named Ebony and Ivory respectively

Then, it's just a matter of naming my character Dante...

Called my daedric bow with fire damage and soul trap "Soul Scorcher".

And a set of dragonscale armour with magicka enchantments "Dragonmage Helmet/Armor/Boots/etc."

A friend of mine named a bow with soul trap "Yoink!" (bonus points if you get the Halo Reach reference)

Let's see... I've got a dagger called Soul Reaper which... you guessed it, soul traps. I've also got an ebony bow named Whipflame, because it fires flaming arrows. My original bow, with the same effect, was called Dagon's Wrath.

Perhaps not the best names ever conceived, but they suit the weapons, at least.

I try to name most of them descriptively, to make them easier to find in my inventory, or in a container.

So, Crafting Ring, Crafitng Apron, etc. for the items I wear to craft in; Destruction Ring for a ring that has fortify destruction and health regen, etc. I did go a bit lame for my bracers and boots- I just called them "Fighting" bracers and Silent boots (they have the muffle enchant).

I did get a litte creative with weapons. I have a bow that I named, "The Barrett" (like the .50 BMG sniper rifle)- I know, not very role-playish, but I don't really RP on that particular character, anyway). I also have a sword I called "Reaper".
