Who is that dragon!

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 11:45 pm

I just got done watching the new footage and it shows a spiky dragon that looks like Alduin but he has blue eyes instead of red like Alduin. Maybe this dragon at the beginning isn't Alduin.

The dragon at the beginning definitely has red eyes.

how the hell could you even tell? The video was in crappy resolution and all stretched out. I couldn't make out a lot of things because of that. I don't think you really saw it's eyes well enough.

Why would someone hold off the execution of the ONE person who can stop you in achieving your only future goal?

my do cats play with their foot?

why is the oblivion main char in that cell @ that time?
more or less he was saved by the attack of the enemy
I don't think they wanted to save you.

maybe the elder scrolls are written by sheogorath .P (he is the most powerful daedric prince)

I dunno but I thought all the Dragons were Jills, well except Alduin cause he's a god who chooses to come in the form of a Dragon.

The dragon at the start is Mirmulnir, I can now say that with absolute certainty.

Because I've seen it with my own eyes. I don't think I'm allowed to say more than that.

Or alternatively seen it be played long enough to confirm such a thing.

Well, I was pretty sure it was Alduin, from the concept art, but hey, if you've seen it, I'll believe it intill I get the game myself. That makes more sense considering Alduin is suppose to be gathering strength right now. Guessing he sent his minion to go mess you up/do something to you. Maybe they want your soul as much as you want theirs? Who knows! (maybe you do)

I understand where you're coming from completely. Mirmulnir just happens to look a lot like that concept art too.

Make sense that the dragons that actually follow him kind of look like him. Most dragons in the game are apperently just peeved souls Alduin brought with him reaking havok cause thats all they really have a drive for, only the Jills (who apparently look like him) are specifically pro Alduin.

To answer the oblivion question; the mythic dawn couldn't know YOU, the future hero of everything, would be in that cell. The imperial guards know, but that was not the problem. It could've been another random prisoner for all they knew. A mess up with the guards, remember?

I have a feeling the entity that is destined to destroy all we have ever known knew the last of the dragonborn was there. And if he did, he could've executed his plan and destroyed everything, by simply chilling out 10-15 seconds longer before appearing.
Now, I'll have to crush him due to him letting me survive. It's just not logical.

Alduin has NOT yet come into the world. This is just the beginning of the game.

Heck, the developers have already described Alduin in detail. We know what to look for...

http://www.elderscrolls.com/community/completely-blue-sky-concept-skyrim/

Meteorite Pitting, Endless Gulfs of Time, Massive....

Look and compare..

As long as you acknowledge you do not know and you are speculating...

I just watched it again and yes, when the dragon attacks through the tower you are in if you pause it at the right moment you can see very clearly it has red eyes. I am starting to think this really is Alduin again. I know I keep bouncing back and forth but that means I am not choosing a side based on bias. I am trying to make logical connections.

People will see what they want to see. No one can help that...

even if you point out that unlike the beginning dragon, the very tips of Alduins spikes in the statue are light colored

Let the game come out

i think, a rescure plan from the rebels was on it's way,
so if not the dragon, the rebels would have rescued you probably

This is still going one?
Again...Why would they show the main boss at the very start of the game, literally.

Remember in all of those previews when they mentioned a dragon attacking Helgen? I'd imagine if it was Alduin, they would specifically say it was Alduin that attacked Helgen.

Apparently Alduin can eat the whole of Nirn. If it was Alduin, I'm sure Helgen would be wiped off the map in a few seconds.

That would ruin the ending atmosphere as well, If this dragon is just an ordinary dragon, people will be building up hype to finally see the World Eater himself.

If it was Alduin, the ending wouldn't be very special, would it?

I Don't see how this dragon looks like http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:Alduin_Collector_Edition.PNG

So I just noticed a little "blink and you'll miss it" moment which may well debunk the the-dragons-know-who-you-are-and-are-sent-to-kill/save-you-at-Helgen theories that seem to be floating about.

Major spoilers though, so tags to save you; you've been warned.

Spoiler
The dragons can talk. Upon Mirmulnir being defeated when his soul starts to be absorbed he says:

"Dovahkiin! No!!"

It certainly gives me the impression that he (who attacked Helgen) had no idea that you were Dragonborn until that point.

On an unrelated note he also at some point says during the battle itself "Thurri du hin sille ko Sovngarde!", but I can only speculate on what that might mean.

Saw a screenshot of the intro with the subtitles on. It listed his fire shout and had a name in front of it.

It's Alduin.

Well hin is 'your' and 'ko' is in. Sovngarde is the Nordic hall of valor for soul when they die. I imagine then its a taunt along the lines of "I shall rest you soul in Sovngarde"
