So who is this Divayth Fyr?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 4:38 am

Mad as a marshrat, and absolutely brilliant. A 4000 year old Telvanni mage-wizard with strong interests in medical research. Unusually, this involves keeping his subjects happy and comfortable. One of the very few Telvanni sincerely liked by non-Dunmer. Actually *invites* would-be treasure hunters to explore his dungeons and take what they can get (of course surviving long enough to actually get anything is another issue, but such is the Telvanni sense of humor). The only NPC in all Morrowind to wear a nearly complete suit of Daedric armor, which he quite probably got by twisting a Dremora's arm until it burst into tears. Grew four female clones who are either his wives, daughters, or both. Fascinated by everything, fazed by nothing.

Divayth Fyr doesn't do what Divayth Fyr does for Divayth Fyr...
Divayth Fyr does what Divayth Fyr does, because Divayth Fyr IS...
Divayth Fyr.

He would never leave the Corprusarium. It is the results of his life's work, all 4000 years of it.

Besides, he could never get Yagrum to come along. Then who would he play checkers with?

He used to be a Psijic as well. So it's possible he just moved his tower over to Solsthiem. Considering Psijic's can move entire landmasses and make them disappear.

But I think the Wizard Lord is either Diyvath Fyr, Baladas Demnevanni or Master Aryon.

Three good guesses. I would lean towards either Master Aryon or Divayth Fyr. Baladas wanted to retire from the rest of the world more than anything else. If he made it out of Vvardenfell when the island was destroyed, I see him either going out on his own. Fyr probably would too, taking his Corprusarium with him, but he's too much of an interesting character for Bethesda too ignore. Master Aryon was the most personable Telvanni, and fashioned himself a leader. I can see him leading the Dunmer to Solstheim and watching over them in his own way. It would be kind of funny if he took over Fort Frostmoth like he did the one at Tel Vos.

He's one of the most badass people in all of Tamriel's history. 4000+ year old reclusive Telvanni counselor, collector of Daedric artifacts (Scourge, Daedric Cresent Blade, Cuirass of the Savior's Hide), owner of Morrowind's only complete set of Daedric armor (outside of helm/shield), cared for and befriended the only living Dwemer in existence (at least he was around during Morrowind), ran a corprusarium, literally grew a bunch of "daughters" to live with him, and allowed thieves to freely try to plunder his possessions for entertainment. If they succeeded, they could walk away freely, as the Nerevarine does. Oh yeah, it's also possible he's explored several planes of Oblivion on his own accord. If he is in Dragonborn, I bet he's the one who figures out how to travel to Hermaeus Mora's realm.

You blew my mind, how awesome if he was the Dragonborn... I'd gain some faith back. Thats for sure!!

VVardenfell is the whole island, and Dagoth Ur was the complex which the self-made god figure of the same name resided in.

Really? The last name of my character is Aryon too. Fhynrood Aryon . But I didn′t choose it for Master Aryon, also there are many Aryons in the game. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Aryon_Ancestral_Tomb#Family_Members

I liked Master Aryon. But I prefeer to see Diyvath Fyr. If one survived the cataclysm was he. Unless he just went out of Tamriel′s realm.

He liked collecting dwemer artifacts. The table is full of them. First of all, honest question, was there anyone else who collceted dwemer artifacts? Like other towers? villages etc

Yes, Baladas Demnevanni in Arvs-Drelen, Gnisis.

Divayth Fyr is a thousand-year-old Telvanni Sorcerer-Battlemage living within a magically grown (Literally, the Telvanni Wzards grow those towers with magic) mushroom tower. He maintains a dungeon, of sorts, called the Corprusarium in which the afflicted of Tamriel's most dreaded disease reside, if they were fortunate enough to arrive before going insane from the disease.

Divayth Fyr is also a sporting man. Hidden in his tower and corprusarium, were many, many items of legend, He openly invites theives to steal them with no ramifications from the law. He only insists that you neither harm his Daughters, or the Afflicted within the corprusarium. Among his treasures were the Legendary Mace, Scourge (Shown in the new Dragonborn Trailer), The Savior's Hide, Volendrung, and a mysterious pendent that lead to a pocket-void of Oblivion, where the user could obtain the last existing Daedric Crescent Blade.

Divayth Fyr is also notable for owning the only full suit of Daedric armor (Minus the helmet) in all of Morrowind, before Bloodmoon and Tribunal. (You needed both to complete a set without killing him)

Divayth?
He would never abandon his friends.
Surviving for longer than most races though, after some time not-dying becomes a habit.

Divayth?
He would teleport his entire island to safety, or perhaps levitate it away.

Remember that Baladas is a Morag Tong target, and Aryon is killed in the Mages Guild questline. I'd hedge all my bets on Fyr.

Too bad 'twas Magus's Will that levitation stop working. Then again, Divayth is a bad-ass. So much so, that I can't imagine the architect for the mortal plane standing in his way.

To sum up Divayth Fyr in a nutshell;

All the men want to be like him, all the women want to be with him. He's just that awesome.

You know I played Morrowind for 8 years, and never knew killing Aryon was apart of the Mages Guild questline. Damn, there's still so many things to discover in that game, after all these years. :)

What?
No.
Nothing prohibits levitation but a hand-wave in Oblivion, a single line stating that the Mages Guild outlawed it.
The Mages Guild is defunct.
A Telvanni wouldnt care about a guild edict anyway.

College of Winterhold isn't associated with the Mages guild, they don't levitate.

Will of Magnus, just like the crappy enchanting.

Its only a part of the questline if you choose to follow mad Trebonius to the end.
If you follow the Argonian at Sadrith Mora you get a contract to kill Trebonius before all that.
