The Legion wins. They would still have their mole in the NCR intel unit and would be able to know all their troop movements and positioning. Don't kid yourselves, the NCR was getting their ass handed to them by the Legion up until the courier helped out, because of the mole. NCR supply lines were being ambushed and posts like Forlon Hope and Bitter Springs were in dire need of ammunition and supplies because of this. Also the NCR is spread entirely too thin, so most of their tactically advantageous posts would be easy pickings for the Legion.

If I was forced into the legion after they killed/enclaved my family I would turn on a dime!. NCR battles a group of legion. Kill everyone but me. I throw down my weapons and kiss their feet. They say we have a job for you. Also In New Vegas I can walk into Legion bases. I doubt that the Legion has the names and faces of every one working for the NCR. Its very possible someone working as a Merchant can get in. Someone becoming a turncoat. Many gangs and mob families throughout history thought the cops would never get them but there is always a rat/informant someone like Silus that will not kill themselves for a mad man like Caesar.

Its not as simple as you make it out to be, eventually the tribesmen they brought into service realized they would be far more powerful as one. This is exactly what happened with the real Roman empire, and is why they were so incredibly effective.

I am not saying it would be easy but it is not impossible as others have said.

The Romans were incredibly brilliant with this strategy. Their past was forgotten and they all fought for something more than they could ever be, they fought for Rome. Very few still were in opposition once recruited, and they generally didn't live very long.

I believe they never expanded in to the northern wastes. New Reno is not a state and Vault City was said to be independent.

Agreed I just wish that the BoS didnt retreat during most of their battles with NCR. I mean they didnt have to they have both superior training and tech. A stupid call on the BoS' part.

No, Thats called smart, While they had advanced weapons and training, That did'nt stop them from dying.

They did'nt want to lose more then 60% of their Chapter.

Doesn't matter that the Brotherhood has better tech: they lack in tactics, numbers, and experience enought that all their shiny toys hardly matter.

The followers wouldn't even stand a chance against one Ranger Vet. Much less the whole NCR. Its not bias, just look at the history. With no courier involvement the NCR has beaten just about every faction in the Mojave. They're as strong as ever, why would they lose again to every other faction? They were smart enough to lure the Legion into a booby trapped Boulder City. They overwhelmed the BoS. A real fight would be against the Boomers. Since with no courier involvement, House doesn't have upgraded Bots or a Robot army. So its between the Boomers and the NCR and I think that the NCR would overwhelm them just like they did to the BoS.

Vault City was independent and New Reno was not a state but NCR did take them over at some point. FO2 NCR was nothing but a much more improved Shady sandsv (areas around it).Chosen One helped them become the NCR we see in New Vegas. New Vegas makes it clear that NCR will annex or invade anything they want. "The expanding Republic considered Vault City a fantastic candidate for inclusion into its growing organism, however, offers of joining were repeatedly declined, with Vault City preferring to stay independent. With no progress being made on the diplomatic side, the NCR Congress approved a secret initiative intended to force Vault City to join."

It seems very likely that they did. All the towns and farms in the North. NCR sends troops East across the Mojave all the way to Hoover Dam but they don't think to go north along well established trading routes?

Edit by "nothing but Shady Sands" I mean on the FO2 map. NCR had taken over eveything south of them that is not on the map. FO1 locations like LA and the Hub.

He got the platinum chip and is privy to House's plans. All he needed was more time to plan away to get access to upgrade the securitrons. All he had to do was wait until after the hoover dam battle and use the securitrons to mop up the victors.

I agree 100%. The NCR take the cake on this one.
