Because Capes are very dangerous. Dammit people didnt yal see the movie Incredibles? I believe they explained it perfectly well.

You can only obtain the Redguard Garb by

Spoiler
Destroying the Dark Brotherhood and taking the clothes from Nazir.
Not true you can get the Redguard Garb from any of the Akir warriors, not sure if that is how you spell it, but the Redguards that are looking for the Redguard woman.

Because they couldn't do real cloth animation and it would svck. Anything to do with animation with Bethesda usually takes a LOT of time or looks meh.

As others have said, they look like crap without proper physics which doesn't seem to be possible in this game.

In color. The Redguard Hood is red instead of blue, as are the arms, and I think maybe the cape. It's Nazir's unique clothing. The Hammerfell Garb is what you see everyone else where.

It's kind of like how Ulfric's clothes are a recoloring of the clothes Raven-Crone wears.

Oh okay, but I remember seeing some Reguards questioning a random Redguard woman, and they had two different colors on.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can wear realistic, moving cloaks over my armor and clothes with a toggle for the hood. Yes, I want animiation for that toggle too. I want to see my character pull it down/over his head.

I've been using the Cloaks of Skyrim mod for a while and have noticed much less clipping with the latest version. Looks great!

Also, I really must apologise to console users. I'm deeply sorry - it must awful for you.

Screw Capes. Where are the Piwafwis? Fashioned from Giant Spider Silk with an Adamantium mesh, they would be capable of stopping and catching arrows, crossbow bolts and thrown weapons. Actually, in RL, they've been attempting to manufacture spider silk in large enough quantities, considering how strong yet light weight it is. Spider Silk is so strong, that a pencil thick strand of it could stop a jet. Clothing made from artificial spider silk would likely be bullet proof.

Cloaks made from Mammoth Fur would grant 20% Frost Resist, while Cloaks made from Werewolf Fur would grant 10% Frost Resist and 10% Disease Resist. Maybe have a Cloak made from the membranous tissue of a Dragon's Wings that grants 20% Fire Resist when worn.
