Why join imperials? : V

I can't understand why, in a recent poll, sooo many people favoured the imperials over the stormcloaks.
The imperials captured you, and we about to execute you for no reason, and you were not even on the list to be executed. Is this a group of people you want to work for? lol

i started out thinking i would help the nords but the more i learned about both sides the more i liked the legion and hated the stormcloaks. Ulfric is a racist biggot.

I chose the Imperials, I think of Stormcloaks as Idealists, besides I am a Wood Elf Nord's and Elf's don't have a good history do they?

The only reason to join the Stormcloaks:
1. You're a nord and agree with or don't care about racism.
2. Because the Empire was going to execute you.

Other than that, the Empire is the far better choice. A unified Empire is a much stronger foe to the Thalmor than a broken Empire and an independent Skyrim. The Empire promotes large-scale commerce, interracial relations, and a better defense against the Third R-
Er.. the Thalmor.

Yup. There are two entrances to Helgen Keep, you can go with either Ralof or Hadvar.

My character's an elf seeking her fortune in Skyrim, she doesn't relate to the "Skyrim for Nords" philosophy. Politically she's neutral, but if faced with a choice she'd definitely go with the Empire.

The Empire has maintained balance for years, at least until the Septims were wiped out.
I'd say just unite and take out the Thalmor.

A united Empire has much more of a chance to win a war against the Thalmor then a independent Skyrim led by a man who doesn't actually care about the people, but just has an unquenchable thirst for power.

Oh, and the orders from one selfish Imperial Officer don't represent the entire faction. The Empire has managed to keep order for hundreds, if not thousands of years. They hate the Thalmor just as much as the Stormcloaks, they're just intelligent enough to realise that they can't beat them in a fight right now.

Are you sure you want to do that, the empire basically betrayed Hammerfell with the Gold Concordat and caused them to succede from the Empire.

No, but I wouldn't base my opinion of every other race in the world on that.

And Skyrim was never a country, it is a state of the Empire.

The cause of Ulfric and his Stormcloaks seems just and legitmate, even by our modern standards: Nord self-determination and struggle against rleigious intolerance.

I don't take refusing to treat Dunmer as equals and refusing Khajitt and Argonians the right to enter or live in their cities, and I don't see how calling the Nords racist is saying the Thalmor aren't???

Their main goal may be just (Talos worship) but Ulfric still wants to exile all other races based on the Empires behaviour, which is racist.
