Why is Serana so nice?

More than your spelling, I suppose.

It is "sense" nor "sence" . Just a little grammar correction for you.

Hence the quoatations around the word "teenager".

She's still a young person in body and in mind. Look at Babette, she may be a little girl in body, but her mind is obviously mature throughout the centuries. Serana? She was imprisoned when she was young. She might be thousands of years old, but she never had the chance to fully mature and develop, as obvious by her attitude and ranting about her parents and her being locked up.

It is the same as a young girl who was put to sleep for centuries upon centuries upon centuries. It would feel like a day or two passed in her slepe, but when she wakes up her mind would still function the same way.

Your statement contradicts itself. You say that Babette was young in body but mature in mind, yet serana is still young in hers? As to her going to sleep while she was still young, it is evident through her dialogue that she was still at least a couple hundred years old before she got put in that tomb. So she'd be just as mature if not more so than Babette.

He means Serana missed 4000+ years when she was put in the tomb which hindered her experience in life..er..unlife which would have made her more mature.

Babette was turned as a child and has experienced countless years without interruption.

She had time to mature in her mind before then, because she obviously wasnt put in as soon as she was turned. I knew what he meant, but she was alive a few centuries at least before this whole tomb thing went down, plenty of time to mature. Nothing about her personality is immature at all.

I agree. It is more of a teasing and slightly care-free attitude than actual immaturity, or at least that is how I interpret it.

We don't know exactly when she was turned but I would assume it wasn't long til she was put in the tomb since she doesn't know Cyrodil is the seat of an Empire, from that I'd say she didn't have enough time to mature in personality as Babette has.

She was turned at the same time as her mother and she talks about her mothers garden being beautiful, saying something about what a masters tocuh over centuries can do. This implies she was alove for a few hundred before being burried away.

The dialogue with her shows that she wasnt. She was turned with her mother. Her mother was a vamp for centuries before the burial happened. Thats proof that Serana was a few centuries old before this happened. Woops, guy above me basically said the same thing. Oh well.

As stated earlier, your blood is the first blood she has had in 4000+ years so she instantly becomes infatuated with you and wants to turn you into a Vampire as her way of repaying you since to her its the greatest gift she and her father can give. (She knows full well what her father was gonna say to you when you first go to the Castle for saving her, if denied she later on forever gives you the option to become a vampire..even if you cure it and want it back several times over...)

And turning you probally is how she gets her kicks...

Well said!

Not to mention her infatuation can be seen if you idle too long. She'll start leaning on you and looking into your eyes.

She does that? Freaking awesome.

She herself tells that she was sealed away sometime after father found the prophecy. So she had time to mature. First her Dad has gone crazy over the prophecy which drove her mother away from him. and that didn't happen so fast after the ritual.
And Cyrodil the seat of empire? Was it the seat of empire since the begining of times? She's obviously was born long before Cyrodil came to power. She knows the freaking land in skyrim,so how would she not know about that then?

Sir, being an "ass" would be flaming him with the following words: "Your spelling svcks, man. You are atrocious!"

Since I didn't add a smiley face to add to the friendly correction, I must of came off as a jerk.

I'm of the impression that you don't like anything anybody does. Bethesda could have made the perfect game and you would still have something to complain about.

I'm not here to play cheerleader to Bethesda. There's more than enough people that would gladly do that job.
No, I'd rather remind them that yes, they do screw up, because I'd prefer to see improvement in the next titles, not more of the same.

That doesn't mean I hate everything though. For example the story of Dawnguard is definitely better quality than any of the factions within the base game, and decent enough that I could enjoy it without complaint. The characters though seem about the same, and some of the themes (vampire lords, Serana's personality) seem cliché. So no I'm not TRYING to find ways to hate everything, I just don't speak of those things I like because they're fine as-is, and compliments are as simple as "good job" whereas criticism requires more of an explanation as to WHY it's bad or sub-optimal.

And yes, Serana definitely feels like an appeal to angsty teens. I mean ffs, when she shows you her castle she says "I didn't mention it before because I didn't want you to think I'm one of THOSE girls, yknow?" Oh yeah, THOSE girls. The snobby rich ones, right? I know all about them from my time spent at Windhelm High, WINDHELM HIGH WOOOOOOO~ GO WINDHELM GRIZZLIES! BEST FOOTBALL TEAM EVER!!
Seriously, did she forget wtf the setting of this game is...?

Way to make me lolz, this was funny. Even if I dont agree. Daddy issues and not wanting to appear like a snob hardly falls into just the teen age list of problems.

Still, it is strange how she is nice when her entire family aren't so nice. I can just image Molag Bal in his domination status in that ritual. The look on his face when he saw Harkon.

Harkon: Those are my terms. A thousand souls to do whatever you wish in your realm...and plus, my wife and my daughter. After your done, will we become pureblooded vampire lords?

If anything, Serana is suppose to be a brooding, clenched fist female who has a vendetta against guys.

since when was hundreds of years old counted as a "teenager" ?
Since she was probally turned into a vampire when she was a teenager which will still make her one.

That is hilarious, awesome link. But I agree it would have made more sense if she was like that, but if she was she wouldn't be as attractive.

Just because she was turned as a teenager, which she wasn't there is no way she definitely looks like she is in her twenties, doesn't mean she would keep the mentality of a teenager. Look at Babette she was turned as a child, but she does not have the mentality of a child.
