Women, ladies, girls and females: A little guy question for

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 1:25 pm

no? fat people aren't usually attracted to fat people. maybe some just lower their expectations on what they think they can get, but in that case, they're being insincere

I don't think I've worded that very well. I didn't mean to say fat people were always attracted to fat people...? I read quite a few articles on people being attracted to those with similar features as themselves - hair colour, body shape and facial structure. Perhaps it's not true but I definitely have seen research on it that points to there being an element of truth to it.

no, you said that's a general rule. I said that's not a general rule.

Yeah, I've read similar articles.

It doesn't apply to me though; I know that much. I don't know about other folk.

At this point we seem to be arguing more about whether life is deterministic or not, rather than whether psychology is just biology.

I think you're right. Which means, as these conversations usually go, we'll just have to agree to disagree :foodndrink:

You're either attracted to people who are similar in appearance to you, because this usually indicates biological, social, psychological etc. compatibility; or you're attracted to people who differ in appearance from you, in order to diversify the gene pool and thereby advantage any possible future spawn.

I think you're right. Which means, as these conversations usually go, we'll just have to agree to disagree :foodndrink:

Not sure if your post has been addressed but you can't say 'girls like guys with abs'. Because it's false. Some girls like guys with abs.
Agreed.
For myself, I don't mind/can find attractive some mild ab definition, like http://abstoningbelt.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/brad-pitt-six-pack-abs.jpg
But http://www.muscle-fitness-tips.net/image-files/six-pack-abs.jpg (or even with less) would turn me off completely. I dunno, for me it looks almost gross. Makes me think of an crustacean, like a lobster tail or the trilobyte. haha. It's not only about physical preferences tho. For me it's also a 1st assumption of the personality and interest differences from myself that a guy with such a figure may imply.

And Magyaronny - I agree, bald looks great on you. Also, you're not an "old man."

It's true. Apparently we're attracted to others with a similar facial structure to our own, because they are familiar and make good mates.

Full head of nice hair trumps bald guy almost everytime. Your 1st link does not work btw.

- and ppl wonder why woman lie when they say looks aren't important

- and to think woman think they are more "spiritual" than men

- and my friends wonder why I don't try and date more.....when drinking is doens't care if you have a full head of hair or not.

Don't you find this argument logically useless?

You are either A or not A. Right.

I have no feeling of oriental women, no matter how pretty they are. I don't know, and it doesn't matter if the girl is pretty or not, the high nose of Caucassions attracts me a lot, not crooked nose tho. However when it comes to long term relationship, honestly look should not dictate.

Before I lost my hair, I had my fair share of girlfriends, flings and whatnot. I'm pretty sure I can tell the majority of the gender and/or when some woman "try and get around" a man not having hair.

As an example: I started playing poker with a group of ppl. In that group there was a chick. We flirted with eachother for a while. Another guy came into the group and she went after him. I asked her why she never went after me.....half joking/half serious toned. Her exact words were "blah blah blah....woman just think hair is sixy."

The guy used her for a place to stay and stole most of her money. She moved back to California after.

So, yeah, I would think hair on a guy in pretty important if a woman is going to stay with a guy like that over someoen who is bald and will treat them right.

It's a sob story I know....I want sympathy and all that.....anyway, it's true.

As much as I want to feel for you, I feel for that woman more, even though she was down to the point stupid. Yeah I'm weak like that :P

There are over 3 billion women in the world. Do you really think that your experiences with a few women is sufficient to generalize to all women?

If so, then I think the posts in this thread alone show that there is plenty of variation in how important men's hair is to women.
