Don't think I saw this one on the list:
I tried using Turbo and the CZ57 Avenger (without VATS) and it locks up after trying to shoot. I'm assuming it does the same with the Minigun and the Gatling Laser but I haven't done any research into it, I'll try to check it out soon. I'll also try to see what happens if I use VATS, Turbo, and those 3 weapons.

EDIT: Well, I just tried looking into this some more and nothing irregular happens, so I guess what I found was a rare bug. There is another thing I found out when testing those guns though. When the ammo runs out and you keep holding down the trigger they keep replaying the animation (minus the ammo shooting out of the barrel and the muzzle flash), seeing as though they were all full auto weapons, I tested out the Assault Carbine, 10mm SMG, 9mm SMG, Light Machinegun, Grenade Machinegun, and Mercy. They mostly all do the same thing, all the non-explosive automatics shake the screen, and the explosive automatics' barrels just go back and forth. I didn't get to test all automatic weapons but think they will all do the same.

Two more bugs that do just that (bug me).

1/ After completing come fly with me quest (sabotaging rockets) when i go back to chris to be congratulated (as it was his idea), he has amnesia and says im terrible and becomes hostile.

2/ My MALE charachter being called buttercup and other such phrases obviously intended for a female charachter. Also get the above mentioned female voice when taking damage, ruins the immersion and respect for my charachter :)

I'm vilified by the Legion (shows up on the map and the general tab of the status screen), but they are friendly rather than hostile. Even walked straight in and released the prisoners in Booted without so much as a batted eyelid.

I have no Legion armour equipped and I'm carrying the Liberator that I got for killing Dead Sea.

The only Legion quest I've done is Cold, Cold Heart and I'm idolised by the NCR.

In Vault 34 if you save in the Armory or the Overseers office it will corrupt your save.

I'm not certain how Obsidian scripted this encounter, but it was daylight when I went to the McBride's farm, and the nightkin was just standing there; uncloaked. They're normally very aggressive, but this one didn't attack me. I could steal from it, even though no indicator would show that I could do so when I went into a crouch position.

A very strange encounter which I don't think was meant to go this way as I have described.



I understand but I was just trying to clarify to others that the Nightkin is supposed to be there and is probably bugged. When I encountered him he was cloaked and if you do the quest associated with him you would understand that he isn't supposed to be hostile toward you, just the Brahmin. At least until you attack him. :)

Quest

One bug I ran into happened while I was killing The Deathclaws in the Quarry Junction area. When I was finished I went to the Great Khan Encampment and accepted the quest Don't Make a Beggar of Me. When the quest asked me to retrieve an Item from Chomps Lewis in Sloan I headed straight there. When I arrived I found that he had been killed and I was now Vilified with the NCR. I fast traveled so I'm not sure what happened but I was previously Liked or higher status. Luckily he had a note on him detailing where to go from there but it seems something either around Sloan or the quest itself is bugged.

The quest Boulder City Showdown gives an option of either a Diplomatic, Sneak or Assault choice before entering the ruins. I chose Diplomatic and was told to talk with the leader there. When I entered the ruins and walked up to the building that held the prisoners and Great Khan I was immediately attacked. I tried the same option but proceeded to sneak around the Great Khans before they saw me. I made it into the building without being spotted and was attacked by the leader there. The quest also changed from talking to the Great Khan leader to kill all Great Khans.

Landscape?

In the Quarry Junction area there is a large crane in the eastern part I believe. I know it's strange but I tried to jump on the crane to kill some Deathclaws. I made it and was able to climb the crane but halfway or so up I fell through and became stuck inside. Not a big deal but more of a warning to those curious enough to attempt it.

I just came across a very bad bug/quest conflict. If you work with Mr. House or Yes Man and complete the "You'll Know It When it Happens Quest", you won't be able to finish "For the Republic, Part 2" because...

...you will have already protected the president, and speaking to Grant will not restart the protection events.


This screws up my game pretty bad because I wanted to finish the game on the NCR's side--assuming you pick a side in the end.

Heres a strange one i havent seen posted anywhere else yet.
I have at least 10 catseyes on me all the time but at one stage every time my companion got close to me (Boone in this case) indoor or outdoor catseyes were automatically activated but not taken out of my stock of 10.
My only soloution was to sell them all and thankfully it stopped, no way was i restarting again. Boone get your own gear :)

PS: Good work on the list, hopefully it will help them get the patch right and they would want to pay you something for doing some of their work for them :)

Right so theres defo a problem with reputations because im neutral with the ncr but they attack me at boulder city. Plus on my second play through ghost is nowhere to be found

Unless I have reached the stage where I can upload Yes Man into the Luck 38 system, I never have the option to ask a follower to wait at the Lucky 38. For example, if I choose to support Mr. House, Caesar, or the NCR and not upload Yes Man as part of the Wild Card: Change in Management quest, then followers cannot be asked to wait at Lucky 38; they will return to where ever you met them (except for Raul who will go to his shack). This is contrary to what Vic said when you arrive at the casino: to wit, the Penthouse Suite can become a sort of clubhouse for all your followers.

Now if I do not go rogue and so proceed along a faction quest line, should I attempt to initiate the Wild Card: Change in Management quest, then I appear to loose the option to continue with the desired faction quest line. For example, I am working the For the Republic, Part 2 quest. The Courier has saved President Kimball from assassination but the Courier has not yet reported to Col. Moore. I return to New Vegas and have Yes Man carry on to the Lucky 38. This initiates the Don't Tread on the Bear quest. When the Courier meet Yes Man at the Lucky 38 Penthouse he will upload himself. This action, for good reason, causes For the Republic and Don't Tread on the Bear quests to fail.

So what is a user to do? I never, never saw the option to cause a follower to wait at the Lucky 38. And to get that option, contrary to what Vic said when the Courier arrives at the Lucky 38, I have to commit to the wild card quest line. I do not understand the logic of this, so I believe it is a defect and that it is worth fixing.

Nice post. I forgot to post this one but glad you did first as I did not get as far as you. As soon as I received access to the Penthouse Suite I immediately tried to send my companions there. I did not however get the option to do so with any of them.

a few more i found over the weekend
im now 94 hours in:

- due to bug where ncr attack me on sight i have to carry an ncr outfit with me at all time, i decided to give to ed-e to carry (i now know it cant carry but i tried)
i was standing on steps of lucky 38, opened up the screen that allows me to give items to a companion.
handed over the ncr bandolier armour and the message "you are no longer dressed as ncr" popped up, but i instead of giving focus on this message, focus remained on the inventory, so basically i could not click the message away!! only hand items back and forth. the only way to get out of this was to bring up the save/load menu and re-load from last save. i attempted this a few times and it happened everytime

- there is a location east water pump plant (the one nearest to vault 34) that will not show as visited on my map, i have been inside and it will still not trigger the visted location message on screen. i have visted on numerous occasions and still cannot get it show.

- within vault 34 there are tons of ghouls, when the glowing ones would do there radiation attack it would blow ed-e through the scenery, wasnt dead as i still had the perk, just could not find ed-e again, it was easier to just re-load the game that mess about trying to find it.

- as mentioned earlier, ncr now attack on sight for no reason, so i disguise myself when around them to complete quests, but occasionally the odd person still attacks: the crimson caravan guard outside camp macarran and the lt haggerty outside helios one. they are only ones that will attack and so long as your companion kills without hitting anyone else, you wont loose reputation and no-one else standing about will attack!!

these were all after i installed onto my hard drive, the crashing, corrupted save games and slow loading screens still occurs

OH i've had some blasted glitches,all of them explained in this glitch list! Just thought i would keep this post at the top of the page where it should be,i don't see bethesda or obsidian producing a post like this and i'm glad cos if they did,it would probably be riddled with effin glitches!

Nothing game stopping but still annoying. 12 gauge bean bag rounds don't work, they do a huge amount of damage and don't knock out npc's

No problem, I just want them to fix the game too. I really want to enjoy this game, I love the Fallout franchise, but encountering all these bugs just svcks all the fun out of it.

1) Raul will not repair weapons unless dismissed from party
2) Arcade Gunner follows during attack on Hoover dam but will not accept companion wheel functions. Only regular dialog.
3) Hoover dam scenes are very jagged (assassination of kimbal and attack on Hoover dam) leading to frequent freeze ups
4) companions disappearing after "wait" saves
5) companions taking a long run when not attacking enemies. They randomly will run away for about 100 yards then run back.
6) frequently stuck in or near environmental items (inside boomer hanger, quarry junction)
7) fisto can be picpocketed (after six, at least) without penalty even when caught
8) Enemy DMG meter doest display accurate DMG frequently and especially in vats [______________]
9) Enemies untargetable in VATS (enemy to left will not be targeted, but remaining companions or other enemies to right can be regardless of toggling).
10) freeze up during loading screens
11) NCR attack at monorail regardless of faction status or apparel
12) Sarah at vault 21 suggests she wants leather apparel, doesn't offer dialog when brought boomer suits or kings apparel
13) legion army relootable when backtracking from drawbridge to cottonwood (their naked but still have full inventory when looted)
14) Eratic NCR radio companion behavior (easily hurt during AOE attacks on enemies turning hostile and lowering faction status with NCR) being killed and returning immediately and not the suggested 24 hours, sekuritron guards at north gate will randomly attack and kill NCR companion when exiting north gate > freeside. {for the record, where the he'll IS the NCR operational radius?}
15) stealing from enemies footlockers, fridges, shelves, etc lowers karma (good karma to kill them, bad karma to steal from them)
16) cass wearing power helmet caused NCR attack at Mohave outpost (helmets are not supposed to affect hostility)
17) Legion soldier doing push ups in the fort will not attack when clearing camp, and Rex attacks push up legionist (different playthrough) when friendly with camp.
18) Mohave outpost NCR repairman offers to return caps after speech check for repair, doesn't return caps.
19) fiend dogs continue to spawn at camp when returning
20) boomer flight simulator inaccessible (though hinted on forums for future dlc) confusing to currently have active
21) Helios one front door NCR hostile without activating Archmiddes and idolized in status regardless of apparel
22) Cobb refusing to discuss taking over goodsprings after asking to speak outside (this was before and after helping the ncrfc prisoners fully)
23) Killshot animations still active even when disabled
24) ed-e quests still active after completion

(Spoilers) Come Fly With Me seems to have been the trigger for my problems, so here we go...

I completed Come Fly With Me quite early on in my first playthrough of the game (straight after arriving in Novac? I headed for the Repconn Test Site, still quite green in terms of abilities, skills and perks). I had no issues whatsoever during this playthrough and managed through saving carefully to get two endings (Yes Man and Mr. House).

However...

On my second playthrough (which I have been LOVING - currently at Level 29 and boasting some incredible weapons and skill level 100 on Science, Speech, Lockpick and Energy Weapons with Cass and Rex), the game has started to freeze.

Now... after each freeze my game reloads to the last savepoint without an issue, but as? soon as I triggered something to drive the game forward - an enemy nearby being the serial offender - it froze. These crashes occurred post completion of Come Fly With Me, well over 30 hours into my second playthrough.

The differences in how I completed Come Fly With Me differed in the following ways: first playthrough I didn't have the sufficient Science skill to re-calculate the flight path of the rockets, therefore the lauch was activated without any tampering; whereas during the second playthrough I did alter the paths... whether or not this is a factor in causing the array of glitches related to that mission is uncertain.

The game froze in the following areas post-Come Fly With Me:

- Deathclaws in Quarry Junction are, like, so powerful that they RUIN YOUR GAME. I prevented freeze-ups by luring them up to the Great Khans Encampment by peppering them with sniper fire. This took around 10 crashes to achieve and proceed one tiny increment...

- From Quarry Junction I completed That Lucky Old Sun without a hitch and proceeded to attempt the Restoring Hope quest. When I approached the downed NCR GPS squad and collected the abandoned shipment for Camp? Forlorn Hope from the chest, it triggered a Legionaire soldier attack. The mere presence overawed the xbox 360 to system failure... 4 crashes later my pad was airborne and I had turned the air blue.

To conclude my rant: I am gutted to get to this point, especially after falling for this game in a big way, where I? feel so frustrated at such a preventable issue. I noticed during the credits after completing the game that Obsidian have 3 game testers and thought at the time, "explains the bugs fiasco somewhat". Jeez, UNO probably had more testers!

It is unacceptable. I don't think I have ever been so frustrated by a game in this regard, ever. The funny part is that I am unhappy and voicing it such BECAUSE I love the game.

If the impending patch does not allow me to continue from my save, I will have no choice but to cut ties.

I got this by accident. There are two buildings at this location and there is a narrow gap between them. You have to walk down this gap for it to trigger the message.

Heres another minor bug to add to the list, only happens rarely but it might aswell go on the list.

Sometimes in the middle of combat you will find that you cannot fire your weapon, aim down its sights or go into vats but you are able to do everything else. This lasts for a few seconds and then everything is ok again? Its not a framerate issue as i have said you can do everything else. (move about, loot bodies, pause, HIDE, etc)

NPC:

Idle chat, random NPCs will have the wrong voice. Females with male voice, children with advlt voices, etc.
