I, for one, am really worried about the future of gaming for serious gamers who can't afford/don't enjoy PC gaming. Whilst the games are cheaper, it's still a higher initial investment. Some people also just like the ease of popping a disc into a machine and it playing, without download times or driver installation or OS incompatibility. There is also something nice about being able to kick back with friends on the sofa and play some split-screen Halo. This is something PC doesn't offer. However, for me at least, all of the next-generation consoles seem extremely lackluster. The Wii U is under-powered and, because its Nintendo and their third-party relations are poor, it won't get great support. The Xbox One seems too focused on multimedia, and I hate the idea of not being able to play second-hand games or play games from other consoles within your household. Microsoft talked about taking Halo round to your friends and playing as a memorable moment, but this will stop that! Then, there's the PS4, and I simply hate their controllers.
