Xbox360 exclusive...Why? its the third DLC

Post » Tue Nov 06, 2012 9:27 am

If people didn't complain because there are other people in more dire straights, NOTHING would ever change, because we would be paralyzed by that mindset.
There are people starving in the world, therefore nobody can complain about anything without first starving.
Yeah, no.
And did you pay for/build a PC to play Skyrim on? Did PC players pay the same amount as you for the game?

1) The PS3 has it worse than you. Simple as that. You can't complain about starving if you haven't eaten in 3 hours if there are people who haven't eaten in three days.
2) I did not, but I did pay for an Xbox 360, and had to pay for repairs
3) PC players did pay the same amount as I did, but Steam did not pay the same amount as Microsoft

Well, that is a bit rubbish. Not really happy with them picking favorites, was under impression that their contract was over.
PC users get mods, so get over it.
Not even the issue. People want to get it at the same time, not have to wait extra. The contract should be over.

Edit: Not to mention that when you pay for Xbox Live you are not paying Bethesda, but Microsoft.

Microsoft paid Rockstar 50 Million dollars for GTA4 exclusive DLC.

Now that was not 30-day exclusivity. But still, Microsoft and Sony both spend millions of dollars on exclusivity deals. That is why you have to consider how much Microsoft expected to make in profits. If it isn't profitable for Microsoft, then they wouldn't do it in the first place.

And look how that turned out for Rockstar? The game didn't even have a lead platform, but it had a timed-exclusive DLC and the sales were so bad once it was released on PSN that Rockstar has not done it since.

The way I see it, Xbox live users pay for bonuses.

It's not that big of a deal I am moving from the Xbox 360 version to PC version soon enough, so I won't be buying it for the 360 anyway.

I said no flaming here.

And many PC users dont use/like mods and only use official content I NEVER USED MODS IN ANY GAME AS LONG AS I LIVE.

And I want mods, we're paying Microsoft to get us good deals.
We got good deals like this, the contact is not over.

Waiting a month is hardly going to kill you, if you want this to change then ask Microsoft to stop charging for Xbox live.

Hearthfire was not a DLC , infact if you see the codenaming of it it is not DLC02 ... DLC01 is Dawnguard , DLC02 is Dragonborn .... Hearthfire was just a paid mod ...

I'm not buying that for one minute. DLC = Downloadable Content. What exactly is content? Anything that expands the game, even if it's some little mod that lets you build a house or put armor on a horse. Bethesda can try to play politics with the English language; but, it doesn't fool people who have their heads out of the clouds. Hearthfire was the second DLC case closed.

You have absolutely no idea if the contract is over or not, so don't speak like you do.

And like I mentioned, mods aren't there because of arbitrary limitations by Microsoft. You dislike this? Just like we dislike arbitrary set backs for release of content.

Same concept.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Hearthfire was released first on XBox, wasn't it marketed as a "beta" version, then marketed as "final" when released on PC?

The contract is over unless it hasn't been renewed already.
The difference is I'm not complaining about it, try it for once.

Because of exclusivity deal I waited on the sale for Dawnguard before buying it and I'm waiting until Hearthfire goes on sale. I refuse to pay full price for any DLC I'm forced to wait for. PC users can either be mad for a month or more with every DLC here on out, or they choose to wait the next few out and send the publisher a message so you won't have to deal with this year after year.

Yes, they do, and like I said, telling people they can't complain because there are worse situations is DUMB. It simply does not work.
If those costs exceed the cost of a PC capable of running Skyrim decently, then you should have used them to build/purchase a PC. If not, your point is invalid.
I'm talking about the players, not corporations. That is irrelevant.

Vexsis, Envy is thy name. You are actually hoping that this goes to Xbox first just because PC'ers have a feature that you don't? Pathetic man. I guess you can pass the next 30 days by re-reading your copy of "The Communist Manifesto"

I don't get this comment: So inequality is only justifiable when it benefits you?

But seriously, this exclusive crap is really stupid. When you develop for different consoles it should be done on equal terms. This i something Bethesda clearly doesn't agree with.

Btw: No news for Ps3 dlc, I strongly symphatize with you Ps3'ers. When it comes to the PC-owners who like to titulate them selves as the "Master-race" of gaming; not so much, but I definetely agree in principle.

Hah, i suspected Microsoft wouldn't accept Hearthfire as a "DLC". So much for "it was released only to screw MS out of the exclusivity contract" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rX7wtNOkuHo :P

all three say game add-on so

1.: if Hearthfire didn't count then why was it exclusive?

2.: if Hearthfire did count then why is Dragonborn exclusive?

3.: if they renewed the contract why didn't they announce it as they promised in the first announcement?

Please note that they announced the first two would be but never said the 3rd or 4th would not be. Perhaps they signed a deal for the rest of them after that to make all content 30 days exclusive for xbox. We don't know but regardless they never promised it would be only those first two. Just that it was already set that the first two would be.

That said, this has been turned into another console/platform flamefest and has already been cleaned out twice of such console/pc bashing. It seems we need some cool down time before we can discuss this without it being a console/platform flame festival so I'm leaving it closed for now. Maybe we can try this again later...much later.
