Xbox360 exclusive...Why? its the third DLC

Post » Tue Nov 06, 2012 9:34 am

hello,

Why is this crap i use PC with Windows, Windows and xbox360 are both Microsoft so why don't PC users get the DLC at the same time as xbox360 users?

Discuss this exclusive crap here.

Xbox360 should get the first TWO DLC first. This is the THIRD.

Dawnguard
Hearthfire

This is from the Hearthfire trailer's description;

'Hearthfire, the next official game add-on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, will be available for download for 400 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE? on September 4.'

So hearthfire is an official add-on that counts towards this.

Because either Hearthfire didn't count as DLC for the purposes of the contract with Microsoft, or MS renewed the deal with Bethesda (more likely the former, though). And don't expect Bethesda to say a word about this because they probably can't as a part of the deal.

Its charity. They are playing on hardware we retired in 2002-2003. We just have to deal with it.

I had to wait a month for HF on the PC.
If it did not count, tell me: why had I to wait a [censored] month??

If bethesda stated that only the first 2 DLC would be xbox360 exclusive and then people buy the game and then the make a new contract and make the third also exclusive is not allowed this is fraud

Knowing Bethesda....

either no explanation

or

something like that they have technical issues with the DLC and that they use all their manpower to solve this problem
Next information regarding this issue follows after X-mas... also happy new year.

Did they say 30 day exclusive? no they simply haven't given a PC release date. Operating system has very little to do with it, for the most part its hardware. Every single 360 uses the same hardware, but you have half a dozen manufacturers PC hardware. They can easily do something that would make the game no longer compatable with certain PC's that it was compatable with before.

I understand that some people can't afford good gaming PCs. The recession has damned a lot of honest, hard working Americans. But PC users shouldn't be punished because of it.

I find it fortunate I have an xbox, but I do still think this is crap. Only thing I can think is because Hearthfire wasnt a "big" dlc?

Hearthfire was not a DLC , infact if you see the codenaming of it it is not DLC02 ... DLC01 is Dawnguard , DLC02 is Dragonborn .... Hearthfire was just a paid mod ...

But it was also a 30-day exclusive on XBox. Which is where all the confusion comes in. Because if it wasn't part of the exclusivity deal, then why the delay? And if it was part of the exclusivity deal, then why the delay on Dragonborn?

Doesn't add up. Also this is killing my nostalgia trip. And also maybe part of my soul.

Seriously, a true dike move Bethesda. I'm watching the trailer all excited and nerdgasming all over the place and then I see "available on Xbox 360 on blah blah for blah blah MS points" and then I'm all " screw you too, Bethesda". Serious buzz kill.

Platform exclusivity svcks and it is ANTI-consumer.

With that said, many people on these forums made the assumption that HF "counted" as the second exclusive DLC with Microsoft. No offense, but HF is a micro-DLC, I am not surprised that it does not count for the deal with Bethesda and Microsoft.

I even told people on this forum not to get their hopes up when everyone thought HF was the last Xbox exclusive and look, no one listened to me and everyone got their hopes up.

Hearthfire IS a DLC, but it is a micro-DLC.

Microsoft would not make an exclusivity deal with Bethesda (Paying Bethesda $$$) for a piddly little 5$ micro-DLC. The contract between Beth and Microsoft probably states it has to be 20$ DLC.

So yes, HF was DLC, but it wasn't the DLC that MS and Beth agreed to.

I am not defending platform exclusivity, but this is just common sense when you consider the business side of it.

Has it occurred to anybody that maybe Microsoft/Beth simply renewed their contract?

Let's be honest this is bethesda we're talking about they will say absolutely nothing about it because Microsoft has them wrapped around their little finger followed by a completely unanounced pc release sometime in January then the announcement that they can't get any dlcs to work with the ps3. Ever since oblivion its been painfully obvious bethesda favors the xbox.
