Post » Mon Nov 05, 2012 9:42 pm

If it wasnt a DLC they should have released it on the same day on all platforms.

^ this. Will be funny to read their next statment regarding this issue.
There will not be any statement.
Bethesda doesn't like talking.
They will release Dragonborn for PC on January 10th, saying "hey, look what we've got for you here!" and act like nothing ever happened.
PS3 will probably never be mentioned again.

Bethesda CAN'T say anything regarding the exclusivity deal regarding Dragonborn, it'd be a breach of contract.

When Dawnguard and Hearthfire were given release dates thay mentioned it being delayed 30 days for PC due to the exclusivity.

Hearthfire IS a DLC, but it is a micro-DLC.

Microsoft would not make an exclusivity deal with Bethesda (Paying Bethesda $$$) for a piddly little 5$ micro-DLC. The contract between Beth and Microsoft probably states it has to be 20$ DLC.

So yes, HF was DLC, but it wasn't the DLC that MS and Beth agreed to.

I am not defending platform exclusivity, but this is just common sense when you consider the business side of it.

If Hearthfire wasn't part of the exclusivity deal, then explain the 30 day exclusivity on it.

This does svck, but the lack of date for the PC may also simply be the result of not yet having a specific date and price for the Steam upload yet. Heck, there may even be a new deal that simply says that Beth makes more of the xbox release than the PC, but still releases them at the same time. I've seen that before, massive hype for a console release of a DLC and the PC version just sorta sneaks out the same day with no fanfare.

Don't spread misinformation. Back it up with fact or don't post it at all.

Fact: I WAITED A MONTH FOR HEARTHFIRE.
So why the hell is that when it does not count? :swear:

2 things.

Either

1: Nobody has any hard fact on this yet, so it is all speculation, ergo, misinformation by your logic.

or

2: He wasn't spreading misinformation at all, to do that would be to pass off baseless opinions as hard fact. He wasn't doing that, he was supplying a likely scenario based on the information at hand, a hypothesis. Since when did hypothesis = someone making stuff up then passing it off as fact?

Take your pick, either way, you're wrong to call him on it.

.....If hearthfire is only a micro-DLC... Ok, but why have exclusivity like 20$ DLC?

No, they did not. They didn't even confirm Dawnguard was coming for PC until it got released.

Bethesda stated before hand to the people that the first 2 dlc would be exclusive. if they change it now after the people already bought the game that would be a breach too.
Maybe this is not against the law in the US but in Europe this is illegal.

1. No PC or PS3(lol) release date. No comment by Bethesda about the lack of it.

2. Dude passed off a guess as concrete fact.

You're wrong, sorry.

I'm slightly sceptical.

Both Dawnguard and Hearthfire had the "Exclusively for Xbox 360" tagline, and had the Xbox live logo at the end. Dragonborn does not have either of these things, just a lack of release date.

Burn contract, find CEO responsible, scoop eyeballs out with a rusty spoon and feed them to him. May you be damned.

Dragomborn also mentions being a "game add-on" like Hearthfire did.

Wait, PC users are complaining cause they have to wait a month? That's funny, I'm on PS3 over here and I've seen absolutely no DLC. And probably never will. At least you get the DLC.

The only way to combat this exclusivity is for us to start a charity that gives console gamers our old PCs. The hardware in an Xbox is just modified versions of hardwrae I had in a PC I retired back in 2003.

If you seen someone playing a console would you turn and walk away? When you donate your old pc to a console gamer we will send you a photo of them playing it for the first time and you can see their faces after they realize that every thing doesn't have to blocky and and you can have more than 4 npcs on screen at a time. Make a difference in the life of a console gamer donate your old pc today even if its 8 years old its still newer hardware.

I to am puzzled why Hearthfire would be delayed a month as though it was part of the exclusivity deal, even when it really wasn't. From a business standpoint, I fail to see what could be gained by such a move, unless all Skyrim DLC is under this exclusivity banner and the whole "first two" business was either inaccurate, or it reflected an earlier version of a contract that is no longer in effect. This is particularly unusual in that PC users wont get access to the content until -after- the Holidays. Even when it comes to agreements of this type, the timing doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Well, I suppose we'll never know the reality of it so not worth speculating really.
