I'm in favor of anything that potentially could piss off the over zealous right wing suburban soccer mom house wives. So yes.

All the non smoking health freaks are gonna rain down on this topic now and bash it to oblivion, when they could relax with a good pipe :tongue:

Just because you aren't seeing anyone using non-orally taken drugs doesn't mean those are the only drugs done in the TES universe.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the story etc. The company would get a lot of controversy etc. Thus it has not been included and probably won't be in future games. Although, i do see where you are coming from.

Well in reality it makes no sense to do something that has 0 benefits and deadly side-effects, while in-game that is literally the worst animation they could add. Eating or drinking is needed to survive, warming your hands over a fire to keep warm, or perhaps sitting on the ground for a rest...these things serve purpose while smoking is just another reason for the government to ban video games

Neither does nicotine exist in middle earth yet Gandalf and everyone else still smoked a pipe. Just because you smoke it doesn't make it like tobacco, pot has no nicotine in it and yet surprise,surprise you smoke it don't you :biggrin:

I think there are worse things to worry about in Skyrim when it comes to your health. Dragons, Vampires and Civil War, just to name a few. I'm fairly confident the average Skyrim inhabitant does not succumb to smoking related diseases =)

seriously. If the game hasn't been banned for references to crack use, use of alcohol, being able to kill someone then strip em of all clothing etc...etc... then I cannot see it being banned for smoking a pipe that may or may not be used to smoke tobacco. Hell you could smoke nirnroot if you chose to, your logic is not sticking other then the fact that as a " health nut " your opposed to it. :biggrin:

I wouldn't mind smoking, though I doubt the actual developers will spend time creating it. There will undoubtedly be a mod for it, I remember there is one for Oblivion. Loved it.

i am not a health nut, i just have common sense. Killing is the PURPOSE of the game, skooma is a part of the culture of TES as well as Mead and Wine but smoking is not in there nor should it be

Could be cool. And do something in the process. You smoke in Bioshock 1 and 2, and it raises your EVE/mana and lowers your health.
In the system on skyrim, it would probabely add stamina or something.

Not like it'd hurt anyone having smoking in.
Even if it's just for fun, it would be cool.

Pardon me but LOTR is the grand daddy to many of the fantasy games out there, along with many stories, respect your elders! Secondly, it was written in a totally different time and place where a lot of what people think of as bad these days was common place in those times. Besides that, like I have said and I'm sure was said before me, just about all fantasy stories have some sort of pipe smoking in it. Why not this fantasy story?

I've never found the action of 'Smoking' to be cool. It just screams "Hey look, I'm destroying my body and I don't want you to come near me because my lungs are black."

But aside from my elementary school service cop speech, You do have moon sugar, which is typically smoked. Morrowind even has smoke pipes.

Killing is not the purpose of the game, if that's what you think then your playing a different game then me because you can play the game without killing anything if you choose to. But smoking was in there it jut got left out, how many more time do you need to be told that pipes where in morrowind? Besides that how do they use the moon sugar? Two ways..... crush it up and snort it or you smoke it, I have my doubts that it was injected due to lack of needles. Anyway, from a rational point of view, I see no harm in including such animations in game other then pissing off a bunch of health nuts, will they ever do it ? Moe then likely not, unless a mod has been made by someone else.
