Name 5 games you can smoke in. I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find them.

All the metal gear games, (about 6 [previously stated]) gothics 1 2 and 3

Give the modders some time, OP. We already have several mods where you can make your character do certain animations like warming hands at the fire, leaning against the wall or even dancing. Someone will probably invent a smoking animation sooner or later with an added pipe texture. Probably after getting tired of pumping out six mods of course. :stare:

I would love this. I would also love animations for eating/reading a book. For all of you who say, "I would rather be out fighting dragons n' sh**." some of us like to have our characters take a break from that, and act as a regular human being would. We get really involved with our characters, and these little added touches go an extremely long way in adding to the experience.

I know that there was one mod made for Oblivion that allowed for this. Alas, my computer died and now am crippled by the lack of modding on the 360.

Why is every one against tobacco? I mean there is plenty of alcohol in the game, but people seem to have no problems with that.

Nords drink, smoking does not exist in TES, plus drinking has no animation

Can't we think of better Role playing aspects other than smoking?
your character doesn't even have an animation to Eat or Drink, Smoking is the last thing you need here ._.

Smoking has been present in almost every story/movie/myth that the Elder Scrolls games have drawn inspiration from. For those who say it would make kids want to start smoking, I disagree. A Mature rated game should include Mature content. It would be fun to be able to sit in your house and smoke some freshly picked pipe-weed. Opinions?

why not , you can steal and kill

Could be cool. And do something in the process. You smoke in Bioshock 1 and 2, and it raises your EVE/mana and lowers your health.
In the system on skyrim, it would probabely add stamina or something.

Not like it'd hurt anyone having smoking in.
Even if it's just for fun, it would be cool.

No, your toon can stop for a smoke as you go out for one
I can understand where OP is going with this, just about all fantasy stories have pipes of some sorts ( LOTR is a prime example ) and it's not like your being forced to smoke a pipe either, the choice of yay or nay is yours.
There where pipes in morrowind, tobacco was in oblivion as an alchemy ingredient, there's skoma and moon sugar in game already, there's crack kitties all over the place, there's a crack den in Rifton etc...etc... so I don't think Beth where to worried about controversy. From a fantasy RP perspective it makes sense to want to be able to stop for a puff of your pipe.

With that reasoning anything you do in Skyrim could be seen as pathetic. Riding a horse, eating, drinking, fighting...

Skooma does get smoked in the TES universe, though. Khajiit are known for using both skooma and moon sugar for everything, as well. Mentioning the pipes isn't saying, "It's a cig." Those things are used in the game universe for smoking moon sugar.

But that does not mean Tamriel smokes it or is even able to. Nicotine does not exist in TES either
