They're alright. I just hate the Stormcloaks though. A bunch of ignorant Nord-supremacists!

I love it. So many people act like Nords and the Thalmor are the only racist entities in all of Tamriel. All Tamrielic peoples are racist.

1) ONE NORD GUY. Yeah, I guess one person is now representing a race as a whole. Oh no, I forgot, there's more than one guy. Don't forget the two village idiots/town drunks in Windhelm. Sounds like someone else is the racist, making those kind of conclusions. His very kind and welcoming brother is also a Stormcloak.

2) As the Nords had a lot of trouble with Dunmer racism, especially in Morrowind. And Argonians are a beast race, they have 'racist' problems with all Men and Mer.

3) Of course he doesn't have any Argonian commanders. The Stormcloaks aren't part of the [censored] Empire and their cause is meant to appeal to Nords who are tired of being subjegated by the Empire.

Its funny everyone mentions those two drunks in whindhelm.. but no one mentions the other one in the warhero that wants you to help the elves... besides everyones battle cry sounds racist lol everyone has killed their cousins cat evidently...

Nords are an interesting people. They value honor and prowess in battle more than most things. I like how it is acceptable in their culture to settle a disagreement with a fist fight.

I like MOST Nords, some are "bad apples" but thats not enough to judge the entire race. Nords are alright but not my favorite race. I certainly don't love them but I don't hate them.

This might be asking to get flamed but I kind of like the Thalmor, I wish you could join them.

gotcha... (never played thro as empire never will tho) but they're both nords and both not racist.... i think the attitudes stem from no one helping the nords (stormcloaks) wouldn't you be mad if you had mixed race county and only one race fighting for it? I mean the stormcloaks let you join no matter what race you are right?

I dont like em. Not because of something lore-related or anything, but rather because they are boring. Id rather not play a generic human warrior when i have other options.

Nords to me are like how I think the Vikings type were in the 13th Warrior movie... They seem really scary, mean and aggressive, but as long as you`re not their enemy and are honourable, they turn out to be decent drinking buddies and perhaps one of the most loyal and honourable friends a person could have- And it won`t matter what part of the world you come from.

They`ll accept you for your qualities rather than for your titled status or class.

Nords are cool, but I don't like them as much in this game than in the previous ones (Maybe just being in their province I guess, after Morrowind most of my Dark Elves are evil or neutral in alignment, though Oblivion didn't change my preference towards Imperials). I made a few Nords in Morrowind and Oblivion, a monk, a berserker, a shaman, a paladin, etc. So far I've only made a barbarian in Skyrim and I'm not really keen on making any more, at least not right now.

This is all IMHO, but Nordic culture seems a little overbearing to me, with the hatred of magic and emphasis on being a warrior. Their version of honor is more like Viking honor, pride and valor in battle, but not really a chivalric sort of code which would be my preference.

Plus, Nordic traditions can be pretty wrong. Kill the High King and you get to become High King? That may work for small tribes, like in the Orc strongholds, but I'd say thats a foolish policy for leadership of an entire diverse nation.

Not a fan of Nordic treatment of other races in Skyrim either, the whole "true Nord" thing really rubs me the wrong way. Like you can't be honorable or worthy if you follow customs that aren't Nordic values.

Fortunately, not all Nords are like that and they're a pretty good lot overall.

Lets just say that Skryim's Nords have made me love Imperials all the more (and that started with Oblivion). Cyrodiils are the coolest, most modern race in the game.

I really believe that Nords are badly misunderstood when it comes to the race issue.

People are far too quick to kneejerk label people `racist` when it`s not like that.

But that`s how it is in the 21st century. Kneejerk labelling of anything you don`t like FTW!

J'rahzir does not think the slum for the Elves are too bad. This one knows the Nords do not allow his kind into their precious cities, but J'rahzir can not help but purr like a cub when he learns of Dunmer's fate. Serves their kind right for what Dunmer have done to Khajiit. *nod nod*

Aside from Imperials who are only a little racist every Race we know of is unbelievably racist. Nords are actually better than average.

As for Snow Elves, does anyone wonder why they didn’t migrate at all? Nords have an awful history with the Dunmer yet when Morrowind was first blown up and then invaded you end up seeing a lot of Dunmer in Skyrim. Nords never liked Dunmer…yet Snow Elves couldn’t move East, West, or South? They had to go underground? How awful were these mer? What the Dwemer did to them also seems really out of character for them, almost feels like pay back.

Snow Elves started the extermination game, hard to blame the Nords for being better at it.

Ignorant barbarians. Never made one in Morrowind nor Oblivion, don't intend to now. Also hate the viking theme.

People keep pointing out they swung first, or Dwemer are more responsible, but that doesn't excuse what they were made. In fact events of Skyrim have shown that if things had carried on peacefully Nords would have found an excuse to initiate, since the whole Stormcloak Rebellion stemmed from them being afraid of losing their Gods. This is just my personal observation and could be wrong, but no one deserves what happened to snow elves, no one.

nords are the personalization of epicness

I remember an Imperial stable worker in Bruma saying something about the Nords there - "They can't help it if they're ignorant barbarians".

I probably wouldn't have made a Nord character if ES5 wasn't in Skyrim, but I wanted to play as the native race, and it's been fun so far.

One could also argue the Nord's of today act the way they do because long ago they were all but killed off by the Snow Elves. They could have been more peaceful before the Night of Tears. It's hard to say now, what with the near double genocide leaving a stain on Skyrim's history. You can like the Snow Elves and argue for them all you want, but they don't exactly have a clean slate either. What happened to the Falmer is indeed sad, but you also can't claim that the Nede people acted on a whim or without reason. The only difference is that the Nede were able to sail away and return later, while the Snow Elves were forced to go underground.

Well I just hope one day Snow Elves are brought back some way or another, so we can hear their side of story, remember it's the victors who write the history.

I like them. Barbaric at the first glance, but on the whole civil and they are appearantly great craftsmen.

Out of curiosity, what do you expect their side of the story to be? The Nede's left the Eye of Magnus burried, so they probably didn't have any evil thoughts of using it against anyone. And even if they did, to what end? Ysgramor had flead from a civil war with his two sons and those who would follow him. Saarthal was their first actual city. Why would they already start a fight with the Snow Elves?

I absolutely abhor Nords. The "racist" types, any race that is racist meets the cold unforgiving edge of my blade deep inside them.

…but Nords remind me of Nazi Germany/Aryans so they don't get any love from me.
