You can rotate Skyrim's map? Awesome, now I can actually figure out where I'm supposed to be going.

It took me until my second playthrough to figure out the map rotation.
72 hours in I was probably on my third. I never complete anything. In fact after 125 hours of playing, the only quest line I've completed has been the Thieves Guild. I have a problem with Bethesda games and starting new characters.
I can think of so many stupid actions on Dungeons of Dredmor. I've picked fights with demonic shopkeepers, drank from a fountain only to discover it was acid, to drinking hydrochloric acid thinking it was a health potion.

Ohh, I forgot all about Dungeons of Dredmor. I think my crowning moment of stupid was charging into a Monster Zoo swinging. I don't think I need to tell you how that one turned out.

and a further 10 hours to find out I could rotate the map.
Worse for me, I didnt find out about being able to hold the drink button to keep drinking until I had several playthroughs and saw it on the forum...
You can add those two to my list...

no.friggin'.kidding

this goes beyond anything remotely associated with idiot. This is in a completely different ballpark, league and even game than idiot. An idiot would be happily equated to a Stephen Hawkings compared to the utter level of brain imploding numbscullery I'm feeling right now. I need a drink.
 It made Moiras wasteland survival guide mission to get irradiated, quicker.
"Hmm, Old Olney. Let's see if there's anything good there"

*5 seconds later*

"ADFASDFAS;DFV;AkNADSSFFA"
"Deathclaws in quarry junction, but I see the strip ahead. Bah I can sneak, or just run past them, cant be that many".
"Ok so that way is out, I should head north, oh mutant butterflies, this will be easy".

Ah fallout was fun. I may play 3 again soon, I havent played in years, but hopefully I have forgotten most of it so its not too easy.

One that comes to mind is Skyrim.

A word of note: When attempting to use Unrelenting Force to throw an enemy over a cliff just behind him, it is a good idea to make sure it is actually Unrelenting Force you have tagged up to use.

Whirlwind Sprint does not have the intended effect.

Wait WHAT? I've had the game for two years and I had no idea you could do that..

Okay, I really needed to read those pesky instruction guides.

In Skyrim:
Spoiler
I saw a valve in Calcemo's laboratory. Turned it out of curiosity. Blew myself up. Laughed.

Playing NFL2k1 online in one of those sponsored cash tournaments and the other guy kicked it off to the end zone. Never touched the ball he picked it up in the end zone and got a free touchdown. I was really fried and remember saying the rest of the game "Damn I'm dumb". Needless to say I lost the game and my slim chance at the cash prize.

Why do you think their lineage died out?

Lol I have had quite a few. But that is spread across many different games.

Most recent was probably fighting some Bokoblins in Skyward sword and doing a spin attack near some bombflowers. I am not used to motion controls on the Wii. Pretty fun actually. But needless to say in my arrogance I decided I did not need to upgrade my shield, nor did I need healing potions in my mind. I did not even pay attention to the fairies that popped up and scoop them up. Nope low on life battling some Red Bokoblins near some bombflowers do a spin attack and get blown up right into the lava. Out of life, sad sad sad Linky.

Not knowing I can hold down the drink button in Fallout 3/NV.
Spending an hour in Deus Ex on Liberty Island trying to get to the top, never noticing the perfectly functioning staircase leading up there.
Trying to kill Lonesome Road Deathclaws with a flaregun.
Playing Skyrim for two hours wondering why everything was so [censored] hard, then finding out my game's difficulty was default on Master.
Playing FO2 without following the questline and heading straight to New Reno.

There is a lot more, but those are the ones that come to mind.

I remember i used to play oblivion more than any other game out there.
This one time (In real Life While not playing video games) I had to make a really tough decision.......and I attempted(For a Second) to pull up a menu and save my game.

You can rotate the map in skyrim apparently.. didn't know that lol.
I also didn't know about the other passage from the thieves guild in skyrim through the cemetery. I kept going through the ratway pretty much through the whole questline until I checkout out the ladder in the cistern and then facepalmed at my stupidity.

Not knowing about fast travel in Oblivion so I just put my character on autorun and left my PC alone. I used to come back and I was halfway there stuck behind some rock with a wolf eating me.

If you play a lot of games you are bound to have some triumphs of stupidity. I imagine most of us are pretty competent most of the time.
