A few of my friends who play WoW (I have as well) decided when they got skyrim to wait until there was a "talent tree calculator" available online to put their perk points in. Anyone else find this irritating or have friends who did the same thing?
its not a grind fest like wow (played wow a lot i know what I speak of )
actually the only thing I enjoyed in wow was leveling up with my buddy and that's it, once we hit level 85 we made a new character , then we just got bored.
Yes, people take WoW too seriously its no fun too play after the level cap. I don't see why some wow players can't have some original thought in choosing how to make a good character.
Would they understand if you said Skyrim is about going into a different world and doing stuff...just doing stuff...like talking to people and exploring? I've never played WoW.
There's only one type of charater per class in wow worth a damn to the community, and that is a powerleveled verision of that class. That's not Role Playing....
Though there was this guy that played exclusively around the pirate cove area and fished while spamming jokes he pulled off the internet to hurl at passing characters. And he had some pretty cool stories about turtles. very cool guy. kinda shady. definately not your normal WoW player.
I played WoW for 5 years, haven't touched it for nearly a year and have no intention of going back. WoW and TES games are entirely different animals...one is an MMORPG and the other is a single player epic fantasy rpg. I love the talent calculator for Skyrim but by no means do I consider it a necessity. It's just nice to be able to plan out my various characters so I know how to maximize their customization.
Perk calculators to me aren't about "min / maxing", they are about having a 50 level plan to organize the build for my character. That way I know what my character is, and what he's gonna become.
Coming from a hardcoe wow player, don't bash it cause ur bad, to the guy who said he got to 85 and was bored, maybe cause you never seen 2500+ pvp. These two games don't even need to get compared you play wow for a mom and to PWN noobs, skyrim you play to rp take in a story and scenery

actually I played wow for the RP and scenery and quests of course pvp and points and stuff never got interesting for me, that's why i usually just quit wow after leveling with my friend (did it several times each time they made a new exp)

So much fail in that post. Thanks for living up to the stereotype.
Back in time when there was only Warcraft 2 and 3 and no WoW... that series actually had an interesting world and story. Now it's all about min-maxing, grinding and other chores that have nothing to do with roleplaying.
If that's how someone chooses to enjoy the game, who are you to say otherwise?
I think you've missed the point of this thread. All over the forum are WoW players complaining about broken levelling, mages, etc. Yeah, they can play their way, but to moan about the problems their way causes is another matter. They grind skills and complain later that they can't level up, or their character is unbalanced (usually a mage). The reason for this is because they set themselves up with ridiculous rules to play by and expect them not to have problems and end up making their character unplayable for whatever reason... or maybe they're just butthurt from the [censored] they got from a group of bandits
