Is anybody actually excited about Old World Blues?

OP I can t disargee with you more on DM and HH. They are both very good IMO. DM is almost tied with BS for the best dlc in fo3 or nv. The only reason I like BS more is because just about told me the canon ending of Fo3, and it added harder enemies throughout the game. As far as pure game play experience DM in HC mode is by far the best.

HH (though I am not done with it) IMO ranks higher than The Pitt,OA, and since it has followers it may rank above PL. Thats a hard call HH or PL.

Im not like a 7 year old waiting for Santa, but I can t wait for any additions to fo. DM and HH were well worth $9.99, Obsidian did a really good job with both. IMO

Take autosave off and the game will not be nearly as buggy.

PS3 I can almost shut it off, but it still autosaves and certain points. I just erase the auto save as soon as it starts getting choppy, or it takes me 15mins to trade equipment. If there are no auto saves the game works alot better everywhere.

I just hope they explain how Christine s voice changes. She had a voice at the end of DM, and Im pretty sure it was not that lady we see there. Its very easy for Christine s voice to change as long as it is explained.

Well at least we know 1 thing that is canon in fo nv Christine made it through DM.

Hence why her appearing as audio logs makes the most sense, given that Vera Keyes was voiced by someone who worked at Obsidian there's no real reason they couldn't have got her back.

Oh I was under the impression we would see her in OWB. Well pre OWB would have to be a different voice.

I guess that shoots something being canon all to hell.

Well back to HH for a couple hours.

I'm not saying Dead money wasn't an excellent DLC, it had some of the best story between both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, HH had some interesting encounters, but after the way it was advertised...it just didn't live up to my expectations at all. When the intro to the DLC is all about a certain character you kind of expect that DLC to sort of be about him a little bit. I don't know why you're comparing it to OA,everything ranks above OA, and why no love for the Pitt? The story telling in HH was crap compared to the rest of the game, I don't know if they just had interns do HH or what, but it was not up to snuff. I don't mind the bugs too much, I wasn't even complaining about the bugs. Sorry, this wasn't supposed to be a complaining thread :whistling: I promise, there are already too many of those, I just hope that OWB is better than HH and is as good as what I think it will be. :disguise:

are you trolling?

I had rather low expectations for Dead Money but they were more then met with a great back story to why the casino was made and such a flavorful cast of characters.

Honest Hearts I had crazy high expectations for and they were met 10 fold by just one line from Joshua Graham. The Survivalists story then proceeded to increase it by 5 fold and the fact that the mormon is

I'm actually not trolling... I try to refrain from that on this board, this isn't [censored] :liplick: The Survivalist's story was great though...but it couldn't make up for my crushed dreams

What exactly were your expectations?

A little bit? Honest Hearts was all about Graham, it at times felt like he was the only real character in the DLC. The conflict between the White Legs and the other tribes in Zion seemed like it was only present to tell the story of Graham and his destructive nature.

It wasn't as good as Dead Money's story telling, but I wouldn't say that it was crap.

i would be too, if it were more realistic. i mean what kidnapper would allow you to keep ALL your gear.

example: if i was kidnapped by the BoS because they needed my help to get into an old world armory of powerful energy weapons and power armor, if i have some stuff like that, there is no way they would let me keep it.

Just what were you expecting for $9.99? Christ the two dlcs are better than the damn game.

IMO OA is better than The Pitt. The Pitt was too short and too easy.

I can make HH last over 20hrs, but the Pitt I m lucky to get 8 out of.

OA was pre war war, plus I got to crush some bos Outcasts. OA way fun The Pitt was not IMO.

IMO to this point with all factors taken into account, it goes

1 BS
2 DM
3 MZ
4 HH
5 PL
6 OA
7 The Pitt

wow...I've never seen anybody put the Pitt at the bottom of the list :cryvaultboy: seriously breaking my heart right now....

meh, to each his own

What was I expecting for $9.99? Gee I don't know, when you talk about a character throughout the main game to such an extent, you kind of expect him to be a little BA. You can really only talk to Graham three times in the entire game if you pick crushing the white legs ending and you can kill him with three shots, pretty pathetic...THIS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A WHY I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN HONEST HEARTS THREAD!!! I've said this in a couple of other threads...it wasn't an awful DLC, but it wasn't great either....

Well op then what is a great dlc? I talked to the burned man several times. Learned a great deal about him and his entire life, learned his motives. I could do the ending now, but I have a few things I need to tie up first. I find it hard to believe the burned man dies in 3 shots. 3 shots of what an alien blaster? Not one human opponent has died in 3 shots with a brush gun. Maybe the first 3 guys.....

If I may ask what difficulty are you on?

The tone of your op sounds like you are not happy with DM and HH, so why would anyone be really excited about OWB.

I can t believe you rave about The Pitt, but don t see the absolute all around brilliance in DM. The Pitt was trash way too short way too easy. It was hard for about half way through the building in the yard and that was it.

Plus it trys to get all philosophical on you at the end, and as I ve said before game programs lose every time when they try to play philosophy with a human brain................. game flaws are uncovered.

After the last two DLC (one you could never return, and I personally wouldn't play again without much coaxing, the other a huge let down) is anybody actually excited about OWB? I'm thinking this might be the Pitt of Fallout New Vegas, but I'm a bit skeptical...I'm probably not even going to buy it the first day it's released :shocking: I was just wondering if anybody has been waiting on pins and needles for this DLC or if all of your anticipation was destroyed by the last two DLC. So much time was taken for the build up of Honest Hearts and it didn't seem like a near equal amount of time was spent promoting OWB. Am I wrong? :liplick:

Well, I really liked both DM and HH. So I'm actually very excited about OWB. Particularly since it sounds like we're going to be getting some high tech goodies. I'll be buying it as soon as FOSE updates to support the patch we'll surely get prior to OWB. :P

See, Obsidian DLCs have atmosphere, for good or bad. The Sierra Madre was a claustrophobic and decaying monument to prewar excess. Honest Hearts was a wide open and fantastically beautiful location that just screamed mystical tribalism, particularly with the rain and the Survivalist story.

OWB sounds like it's going to be a matter of "what has science done?!?!", which can be fun or lame depending on the execution.

As a player, I really like atmosphere in my DLCs.

OWB is supposed to be a dark comedy in its execution. sounds good to me. zaniest dlc we should get yet and they've promised some unique characters and weapons.

I've also enjoyed all the previous dlc for new vegas (have not yet bought the dlc for FO3) and enjoyed the uniqueness of each of the. The last two though are what I'm really looking forward to. OWB looks huge in the previews we've seen for it. The toaster is also awesome in concept.

I wasn't untill I saw the preview. Looks hilarious. Plus Ulysses will be there. Sounds like a fun time.

I can see how people were disappointed by Dead Money and especially Honest Hearts and go "meh" to this though.

I too was disappointed by Joshua Graham after waiting for him from Van Buren to Fallout New Vegas. And it wasn't that they changed him back from the cruel symbolism of true and utter darkness he was supposed to be. No. It was the lack of use from him plus the DLC(Where is New Canaan anyways? Heh)

It was a short DLC with the majority of it being fetch quests(Sawyer stated to avoid quests breaking down unlike the main quests they went with fetch quests and fewer options) and you barely got to speak with him. There was no real huge purpose of Joshua Graham. Hell you can't even mention seeing him to Caeser for gods sake(And yes I read Sawyer's answer to that too on his formspring)

I say sit Old World Blues out for reviews and thoughts on these forums. Then decide.

My character had high luck so maybe critical hit? I don't know, but I distinctly remember 3 shots with a magnum, don't remember which, it's been awhile. I was happy with DM, don't get me wrong, excellent DLC, it was just really really difficult for me and I wasn't expecting that....no need to get rude, no need to continue a stupid little fight with me, you want to pretend that you're smarter or better than me, take it to pm. Thanks :intergalactic:

Do we actually know that Ulysses or Christine will actually be there or do you guys think it's going to be holotapes or backflashes? I'm trying to figure out why Christine would come back to a place likes this if she had such horrible things happen to her. If I over think it, I'm going to ruin this DLC too :yucky:

1. BS
2. DM
3. HH (would be further down on the list if Joshua hadn't been in it)
4. PL
5. The Pitt
6. OA
7. MSZ

you kind of expect him to be a little BA.

I saw him pistol whip a White Leg's head clean off. He is more than a little BA.

I doubt we'll be seeing Christine physically, since, if she lives, her ending slide says she doesn't think of the Courier again until she hears about the Divide. It'll probably be an audio recording like somebody said, or maybe a hologram, since Elijah says the Big Empty is where he found them.

I must play this DLC again with Graham using "melee"

I was looking forward to seeing her in the flesh again, she's such a compelling character, but you're probably right :nerd:
