Was just about to say something like that. The fact that people are getting excited over this is a bit ridiculous. God knows it'll be at least another week before the patch actually comes out.

"we'll let you know" really? its not the fact this developer has shipped a flawed game, its the point that they have deliberately left us in the dark since its release in OCTOBER. Sure there was a small patch, but that didn't fix anything for my experience. my arms keep dislocating above my head, still stuck in endless loop on veronica's mission. not to mention all the minor issues I've seen. i WAS excited when this game came out. i scraqed up my cash for this game, only to be disappointed by lack of news on fixing the flaws within. i cant believe what a let down this game was. I've already traded this game in. maybe ill pick it up again when its in the bargain bin at gamestop.

As soon as the update is released (I don't have an exact ETA), we'll have details ready that cover what it fixes. When I have more to share, I'll let you guys know.

I don't want to wait until the update is released. I want to know now.

What I want to know is what game changes have been made such as the damage threshold adjustment with energy weapons, or how much the sniper or Boone has been nerfed.

They announced new DLC on exact date. How they know that? Why they didn't told us "we'll let you know" and "DLC will be ready when it's ready"? I'm confused.
Game updates journal:
we are working on updates
after month: we are working on the final touches. we will let you know.
after another three weeks: we will let you know.

I understand (I'm upset too for the huge amount of time this patch required), but now they sent the patch to Microsoft and Sony, then they cannot do anything more. Any further delay will be due to the consoles networks.

^and how do you know thats exactly what they did.. they said final touches almost 2 months ago.. final touches could have meant sending it off soon. I still say maybe the week before the dlc. so that people start playing again and feel the need to add to their experience

Tell me why they should have closed a completed patch in a drawer for weeks, with thousands of pissed off people on the web waiting fot that patch. ;)
There's no reason. You can't create any hype making people wait for a patch.

How you know that? On updates information topic there is no info about they sent the patch to MS, Sony (and Valve?). They just submitted it. Submitted to whom? Maybe to own technical staff or to testers or to someone else. Who knows?

All correspondence from Gstaff regarding the patch has been deliberately vague. Much like the offhand way they downplay the bugs and glitches. I really, really hope this fiasco of a game release bites them on the ass, so they pick their act up and start releasing working software instead of using their paying customers as beta testers.

some users over on gamefaqs are reporting that their machines are downloading patches.

they may well be mistaken as others are saying theyve got nothing updating in their own games, but ive seen this trickle release system before with patches to stop live from overloading.

anyone else getting a new update or any update?

Well, obviously they finished the first DLC (and possibly others) before the game was released.

which is both welcome and slightly annoying - because the ps3 and pc, it seems, will be getting theirs far sooner

I think it's safe to assume they meant to the platform holders, and that's what's being reported on gaming sites.

I know that can be frustrating. We submitted all of the updates earlier in the week (as noted in tweets and here in the forums) -- but the timing for release from platform to platform isn't always the same.

We'll try to keep you as updated as possible.

Wouldn't it be funny if they all took a looong vacation after the game shipped and there is no update coming, they just told Gstaff to keep us busy as long as he could? He's doing a pretty nice job.

My take is that they pushed too aggresively their release date, hoping that they would have the patch for recorded bugs in a week or two. But this is the real world ™ and ended up rewriting a ton of the game (as well as requesting patches from 3rd party component devs)
