Anyone else have this bug in their game?

If you don't feel ripped off that is great, but those of us who do outnumber you.

Prove that statement.

Well there are like, three of them and only one of you...

Joking aside, nobody can prove who is the majority and minority and it's folly to try.

It was marketed as a continuation of a sandbox FPS/RPG. They knew what people thought they were pre-ordering, and it was not this. If there was even a drop of info released before the launch date to suggest other wise i would not have dropped over 100 dollars on it. They deserve a CALS and obsidian deserves to go out of business for knowingly releasing a a buggy POS, and ripping me off. I started this thread to let them know how others might feel a little less robbed.

If you referring to the no play after ending. Then yes they did several times before. Months i think it was.

Many people have problems? Sure. Most of them have problems? Impossible to say. Unless you get everyone who bought the game to give a statement about their experience with the game, you will never know if most players have problems or just many have problems.

Exactly.

@Baracous Dude, you are not that important. In fact, your inappropriate stance on this issue likely destroyed any credibility Bethesda would have given your statements.

Dude, you're totally tripping. Just go to the store where you purchased the game with the receipt and ask them polity for a refund or a different product of the same value. Most stores will have a refund policy. Obsidian/Bethesda have nothing to do with it. I feel happy about my purchase after researching these forums and reviews first because I switched platforms after a lot of trouble with FO3 GoTY on my PS3. I just returned it for another game, problem solved!

I knew what I was pre-ordering, and they were very public about there being a definitive ending. There was no mystery there. If anything, it was marketed as a continuation of the original series, which, in case you didn't know, didn't begin with Fallout 3. I've had problems with the game, but nothing that would make me create a thread that's nothing more than flamebait. There are quests I can't finish, but I've seen nothing wrong with the game balance. If anything, it's an improvement from Fallout 3 and more in line with the rest of the series. And, quite honestly, I think you're in the minority around here.

I second Mako Vlazkov's motion for a lock.

I disagree. Look at your poll buddy. 5:1 anybody? anyway, out of the 20 people I know who own this game not a single one would want to get rid of it. out of the 50 people I know who don't own it, but look around on this forum and have played it, 45 want to buy it. 40 of these are going to buy it. The reason it appears that the people who feel ripped off seem so abundant is that they are the ones that go off and make a thread about it. They are the ones that feel that they need to go to teh forums and complain. everyone else was activ eon the forums, but geusse what, tehy were just trying to keep themselves busy until the game came out. Now they're off playing the game. Because they don't feel ripped off.

Absolutely 100%

But I have to admit as innane as the OP's original premise is, this thread is getting more and more entertaining. Please MODs, don't lock it.

They are not accepting anymore FO:NV returns. :banghead:
The game was and still is being marketed as "Fallout: New Vegas, the follow-up to Fallout 3 – the 2008 Game of the Year "

It is that. And Fallout 3 had a definitive ending.

Yes, they made a DLC to continue it, but they had to do some weird things to make it work....even then Supermutant Overlords and Feral Ghoul Reavers were absurd things to introduce.

It's only being marketed as that on the TV, do some deeper digging and you see tat most intended it as an Omage to FO1&2 most places only ofer a 7 day return policy sooooooo.....shouldn't have waited 2 months.....

Nice poll options...

A: the OP rocks!

B: I'm an idiot!

Nah, no bias there...

They will be pressured by sony and microsoft to fix everything due to lagging game sales and returns.

The only thing Microsoft is pressuring them about is to keep giving them first-release DLC exclusives- that doesn't sound too much like an unhappy partner to me. "Hey, your game svcks so you'd better let our console get all the purchasable DLC first so we can soak up that add-on money!"

It is a follow up to Fallout 3, considering it is the latest game in the series and Fallout 3 is the game that came before it. Follow up does not mean that there aren't going to be tweaks and larger changes to balance and gameplay mechanics.

I only get a perk every other level, and grim reaper's spirit only gives me 20 AP in return when i kill something in vats.

All joking aside,
I can see from some of the threads that Bethesda is trying to think of a way to makeup for this stink hole that Obsidian turned their baby into.

I have thought of a few ways.
Give us our freaking perks back for every level we go up!
Fix Grim Reaper's Spirit.
The return of Almost Perfect.
Return all of the old perks maybe some with a new twist.
Allow us to mod the "named" guns (ps mods for .50 cal)

I personally pre-ordered this game. So I played through the main quest just to have the disappointment like in the original release of FO3 of all of my collecting being for nothing because the game just ends. Not allowing me to finish anymore side quests. It's like you guys didn't learn from the original round of [censored]ing that the game should keep going after you finish the main quest. So then I decided to do everything but the main quest. Collect all of the guns to modify, only to have the game delete the things i had collected, then glitch because it had deleted my pre-order DLC pack equipment. And this was after the patch which randomly locked doors for no reason and brought dead people back to life.

Bethesda I'm not mad, i have played your games for years. You have given me hours upon hours of enjoyment so i have always bought your games and every DLC you have released (yes, even horse armor). I know you can fix it.

Almost all of the things you said were taken out because they made you overpowered. Perks every lvl made you able to have so many things that it made the game straight out boring. Almost perfect was so stuiped. not only were you a god but yo were a god at everything. Grim reaper made it so you could use vats nonstop almost. A lot of the perks by themselves were OP. Over all i can see that all you care about is being a rampagig death machine so go find a game where you can cheat because this is not a game for you.

You miss the point of my original post. I was saying they released the game knowing it had tons of bugs. I said I have played through (just wandering the wasteland) it waiting for the patch but the bugs were so numerous even after the first patch (which made things worse) that i could not even do that. I can deal with a lack of an ending.

I have fallen out of the map by stepping in the wrong place. vault 34
No floor. Train tunnel
Fought invincible enemies, No health left but they just would not die. ghouls mostly. So i got beaten to death because breaking their legs didn't slow them down.
breaking limbs does not effect the AI's speed.
Had doors lock behind me with and tell me i need a key to exit (NCR missionary in freeside)
My room deletes my equipment.
Been stuck in endless death cycles because of rads+fasttravel

Is this about not being able to use some of the end-game items, like Lanius' armor and sword? Is that what all the complaints about not being able to continue are actually about? The "phat loot"? Because if it isn't then all you have to do is turn back before you get to the "point of no return". Then you can play till your eyes bleed. My one character is at 144 hours. It isn't about a lack of anything to do. I just don't continue the main quest until I'm ready for my character to retire.

There's nothing wrong with the game balance. Grim Reaper's Sprint was way too powerful in 3. Almost Perfect was a joke. My character is 27th level and just cleared out the Deathclaw Promontory without getting hit once. If anything she's too powerful. And I have no desire to go running around the Mojave Wasteland dressed like some Ordinator from Vvardenfell. I have Morrowind for all that.

Add: You didn't say any of that in your first post. Yeah, I agree, the game has more bugs, glitches and broken quests than it should. I've experienced them too. We're all waiting for the patch. But I think this game has the potential to be great. We have no choice but to be patient. I think that's why the patch is taking so long. I think they want it to be great too.

@OP Go play CoD or some other FPS, Fallout is an RPG with FPS elements, NOT vice versa. If you think there wasn't any pre-release info, you didn't do any pre-release research, as we were very well informed of changes that were made.

Where have side quests, including those with multiple endings, been acknowledged as canon events in the various protagonists' lives?
