as i play this game i cant help thinking F3 is better,i could play F3 for hours no problem but with NV in about a hour i get bored,i find F3 a much more enjoyable game and has much better gameplay,sure theyve made some improvements but theres also alot of disapointments in New Vegas

Personally I don't know, since the game was the last straw for my xbox elite (the constant freezes RROD) and all the other bugs and glitches kinda make it hard to like it even remotely. I start to play and not more then 10 min in I just lose interest.

If it would of been semi bug free(not completely) I might be playing it more, but the bugs killed it for me.

Agreed! While I like the improvements that Vegas brought I still prefer Fallout 3 I've listed several times already what I like and didn't like so no real need to do so again Lets Hope FO4 includes Obs improvements but is more like FO3 in size and plenty of underground stuff and a massive map that feels big I think FO4 will bring the best of both worlds together into what I hope will be an absolutely stonking game! Beths World and detail with Obs Writing is sure to make it so

I did enjoy Fo3 but in the end felt it was a one trick pony you could ride to extinction, or until you fell off.

NV is a ranch with hundreds of ponies and each has its own little tricks

I don't know that I have the perspective to make an accurate judgement on which is "better".

You see, I just bought FO3 a year ago.........the GOTY edition. I never played an unpatched vanilla version of that game.

Here are the things I DO like/prefer about FONV: More dialogue choices, your actions actually have CONSEQUENCES in the game, hard core mode, staggering from impact, less skill points and perks so the game isn't ridiculously easy and most of all an absence of dozens of hour long dungeon crawls through cut and paste office buildings.

There are obvious issues with FONV (though not deal breakers for me) but I'm reserving final judgement until it's fully patched and all the DLC's are out.

I'm sure some people do.

I mean, I'm sure some people prefer Batman and Robin to The Dark Knight. :wink_smile:

mmm i like both game since they are dif... in Fallout 3 at the end you where like God nothing can stop you.... in fallout new vegas i still have problems with some stuff on the game that can kill me more if you play on Hard-core when you get crit and you get kill some times with 1 shoot that svck

OMG I SO AGREE WITH YOU. i been playing Fallout New Vegas since it's release & i love a few things in the game but sadly i love Fallout3 alot more & what's worse is I know there's going 2 be add ons but playing Fallout New Vegas as it is now, it really makes me upset thinking i'd have 2 buy the add-ons to get my interest back in the game & i'm thinking i don't want to buy them at all. Fallout New Vegas is just boring frustration with less enjoyment then Fallout3

For me, it is better by a landslide. I just love it.

The community is pretty divided. It just comes down to what you think contributes more to gameplay. I've seen more people say they like New Vegas better but it's impossible to know the actual numbers.

I prefer Vegas.

I just felt Vegas lacked the sense of Urgency that FO3 produced in me, it just wasn't as compelling (stated that a few times already sorry just the way I feel about the game). Not sure why though, was it the long build up until you actually left the Vault not sure.

Looking at some threads that wording is pretty mild.

Anyway, a lot of people seem to prefer Fallout 3 over New Vegas, mostly due to random exploring being the most prevalent aspect of the game (at least that's how it seems). A thing I don't completely understand, but I guess I'm not meant to.

My own preference goes for New Vegas, on all accounts - though I still think it is a bit too similiar to Fallout 3 in its general gameplay.

What then?

Fallout 3 endgame makes me want to kick puppies. But I won't explore the world once albino radscorps start popping up and deathclaws become common. Ceases to even pretend to be a fun game at that point.

I like the Enclave, though. I love me some faceless heavily armed and armored mooks.

I loved the End of FO3 going into combat with Optimus Prime, great stuff (I know)

Even though there were many improvements made to FO:NV I still don't get that feeling I got form traveling through the DC ruins. The dungeon style caves, buildings and metro system (which a lot of people say they didn't like but i loved) the first time seeing a large dark shadow that i didn't know what it was but it had a red marker and it was in the way and i was going to have to fight it. Just the whole post apocalyptic setting was more intriguing then the less dangerous desert setting of the Mojave. There was just more about FO3 that made me want to keep playing even though the missions were the same every play through the whole atmosphere made it more worth playing through them again.

This is definitely part of the great divide.

In NV your character can be someone or no one or something in-between, you may chase the bad guys or drift, the choice is entirely yours.

My first character was very fuzzy, a bullet to the brain can do that to a person, until a certain meeting with Benny at which point her entire character snapped into place. But was this character truly the person she once was or had she become nothing more than a victim of circumstance? One thing for sure, there was not a single member of the Legion left on the map to answer the question

I prefer New Vegas in pretty much every way. It would be cool if there were more random locations to find, but that's a pretty low priority for me compared to all of the other things that, in my mind, were improved-upon.

I love all fallout games! (only played 3 and vegas gunna pick up 1 and 2 this christmas see what the forums vets experianced) :fallout:

Well, I just finished playing Fallout3 goty JUST before Fallout New Vegas came out, and I like FNV way better.

The fps game play feels much tighter in New Vegas, and I like the quests and dialog better.

FNV feels more like a return to fallout1 and 2, so most fans of those games will likely prefer FNV.

BUT OMFG THE BUGS!!!!

Seriously though, fallout3 had them too. How long was it before that game was patched up well?

I know in my fallout 3 game, that I just finished, there were some turrets that stretched into the ground, and some other strange crap. A lot of my punches started missing as well later into the game. I think It might have gotten bugged somehow.

I am glad Bethesda brought fallout back from death. I hope they let the Obsidian guys work on all the future fallout games.
