Dawnstar beta x)
Anyway i dont know how they will select the winners,Do they look at our forum accounts? Also if i get dawnguard beta i would nevr post spoilers,Do we get a section where we can report bugs and glitches?
I agree as much as I want to get selected. No matter what I like people to experience it for themselves. Plus I have no recording equipment at all :P I just hope I get picked. I can barely stand the wait till June 8th, or 9th!

I don't think they use public beta testers. I think it's all internal.

So I take it this is the first time they have offered some of the fans a chance to beta test? Seems strange they had previously only internally tested such massive games where so many things could unexpectedly go wrong.

They're taking an extra step of their own volition to make their fans happy.

Kudos to Bethesda for it too.

Lying will not improve your chances to be chosen as they will want a variety of people in order to find out if the DLC affects them in any ways.

Uh no. The DLC is finished but it needs to have bugs removed from it. They have a team working on it i'm sure but about a 1000 Beta testers is more effective then a room with a dozen people in it if they do their job and find bugs. If it was just for fans they would have made it for all consoles and it wouldn't be the full game. This is a Beta. Not a demo, Bethesda expects us to do our job and find bugs wherever they may hide so that the DLC will work right for everyone else. If you're not gonna bother to bug test then you don't deserve a Beta code.

You misunderstand me (and you're being rather presumptuous, don't you think?). Where in my post did I say that I wouldn't test it and/or submit feedback, or that I would recommend others to do the same? Oh, that's right -- I didn't say any such thing. If I am selected for the beta, I will give as much feedback as I possibly can, and I will be very grateful for the opportunities of both playing the DLC in advance, and contributing to its QA. But Bethesda does a lot of internal testing as well, and I think it's very reasonable to assume that they have ironed out most of the major problems with the DLC. The beta testers will be looking for more minor things, and I doubt there will be that many bugs/glitches for them to find, assuming my understanding of Bethesda's operations are accurate. I have participated in a few large scale public betas before, and each of them felt more like a way of reaching out to the players than a means of getting their feedback. That said, I will repeat myself before you make any further assumptions: if I am selected, I will be looking for bugs, I will give as much feedback as I possibly can, and I urge others to do the same.

On a separate note, I see a couple people have mentioned that filling in multiple applications will renew your application, rather than create new ones each time you submit. Can anyone confirm this (ideally with a link to an official Bethesda statement)? I'd like to update mine if possible; I've added another 6-8 hours to my Vampire character since I filled out my application, but I don't want to submit a new one unless I know it won't count as "cheating."

I don't think so. I think they'll only email you if you get selected, which should happen in a week or two I believe.

oh my! i love the elder scrolls and ive been playing since morrowind. skyrim is a fantastic game and i heard about the beta and decided to post here. but i have an honest question: why are they having a beta if people could possibly spoil it? i am just wondering. i signed up for the beta and think it would be cool to actually help make the game i love. i think a big factor of being allowed to beta test might be if you can keep it to yourself. i see this (for me at least) posing no big threat and im excited for the next skyrim expansion.

You must not have read the terms of the contract... By signing up for the beta, you agreed to enter a non-disclosure agreement upon selection. In other words, if you are selected, and you spoil the content, you may be subject to legal repercussions from Bethesda.

Is there any news on it being available internationally yet? Last I heard they didn't know if it would be a U.S. only test...

I don't think so. There aren't that many playstyles.

Well, for a true beta, they should be testing everything, different types of consoles, games that are downloaded on hard drives or not, how strong you are to see if the new content is balanced, etc.
