Apply to be in the Dawnguard 360 Beta - Thread #4 [merged si

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 1:33 pm

id assume Bethesda has some very strict requirments that they are hiding from the public and only those that fall under them will get the pass

I highly doubt the people with low tear 360's would get the pass as i also doubt people with the best stuff ever would too

also any one else notice you couldnt select a 160 gig hardrive on that 1 question (i had to select 250 gig hardrive because mine larger than 120 gigs .-.)

also some poeple have questioned how they will stop people posting spoilers

ima say that since i think was requirment you have an account of bethesda forums (here) that if you post spoilers you will get banned and be booted from the beta as well but at same time how will they stop people posting spoilers over on Gamefaqs or other gaming forum ?

I don't think they use public beta testers. I think it's all internal.

Im on Xbox, and i cant imagine why anyone would choose to beta-test. When i play Dawnguard for the first time i want to focus on playing the game, not bug-testing. They are not one and the same.

I bet they give it to loads of people. To increase the hype for it so everyone tells their friends how great it is. Marketing!

The vampire option was sort of a give away, hey.. atleast I already have two.
I'd like to believe your level of cosole has nothing to do with it, I haven't upgraded because I still have 24gbs on my 60 (along with numerous Memory sticks) and a 4 yr old pro that runs fine.

And whoa!? Did you guys see you can only select 3 characters? I have 5! MADNESS!

I would hope its random. You'd want see how different quests, and playstyles work with the expansion. Just choosing a certain type of player ruins that.

They can't stop you from posting spoilers on other forums, unfortunately. There's just nothing they can do, unless you use the same name / have your GT linked, or something like that. Hopefully though, everyone who gets picked has the decency to let the rest of us see it for ourselves.

They'll probably try to pick a fairly even number from all possible option blocks, to increase the chance of people finding bugs. So what you put in probably makes very little difference, as they'll pick a fairly even number from each hardware field, playing style, race, etc.

I would think that they would want some testers from all the various options. I have one of the old 360s and I would assume they would want some people who have those (and my sad 20 gig hard drive) to make sure it runs properly.

I hope.

If you post spoilers you'll probably get sued or something, they'll make you sign something to say you won't.

Really is kinda up to the personality of the person if they could beta test, as for me I love trying to break games within the normal operating peramiters of the game design. If your looking to just play and enjoy prolly isn't for you. If you keep a bazillion saves because your always trying to do things in a way you shouldn't, you would like beta testing.

They didn't ask these questions because there looking for certain people that have certain things, it because they what as many different people particpating in the beta as possible so the can cover all the different playstyles were bugs can occur. So there not going to be looking for just werewolves, or vampires characters or high level players. There going to want as many different types of players they can get because bugs can occur with any type of characters or systems.

No. There is a reason we had to fill in what criteria we fall under.

I doubt it as they are giving it for free. It will be a few hundred people I guess.

Seriously it isn't like that. That is what the internal testers usually do. Beta testing is just getting all the different play styles and completed missions and see how they affect the game. People saying they are good beta testers doesn't mean they're any more likely to be picked.

I just Applied. I also think that they will choose a large number of people and maybe even want people to spread the word about what the DLC is like. Anyway, I would be sooo pumped to get it.
