Apply to be in the Dawnguard 360 Beta - Thread #4 [merged si

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:32 am

I'm hoping I get chosen...

I've been part of the BETA's for Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and a couple of others, and I actually did what a BETA was meant for; making the devs aware of bugs/glitches/issues through the course of playing the new IP's.

I'd love to have the opportunity to do so again but with the Elder Scrolls series this time. I love this series so much, it would actually be an honor to do this for Bethesda.

If that is true than you would be a great condidate for the Beta.. Better than me I wont deny.

Ive done only a few bug testings for various reasons... Mostly for PC mods but when i got my 360 I posted on sites for discussions.. I wasnt much help but nonetheless I had encountered bugs that some didnt know existed.

I do wish for more experience along the lines of testing. My routine is start the first quest and use both my existing profiles as both Vampire but on both I am able to join The Circle (in the case that I want to go beast on Skyrim instead of stealth).. My method is more Use certain Enchantments along with newer perks to determine buffs.. I will (if i am accepted and most likely even if I am not) use various weapon and spell combos (which ever is available in Vampire Lord form) The main bug ive seen is missing areas in patch 1.3. also its nice to see if Quests can break because of certain things... Become Ethereal can definitely cause issues in Instances youre suppose to turn or die. So even if I do not become accepted try to do a good job if YOU are

Hmm, I just signed up for the Beta, and I hope I get picked...but this is my first time Beta'ing and the Agreement was a little scary, what with the NDA and such.

However, I am just wondering, how will Beta'ing work? Where are we going to be sending out Bugs/Glitches/Etc info to?

Man, I am such a noob right now.

I wonder how large the test size will be, also if being in Australia is going to hinder my chances >.< but regardless I'm sure Dawnguard will be well worth the wait and the price if we don't get in.

Did you use this one? *link*

I did but that wasn't the problem. I actually just figured it out (at least for my comp). For anyone else having trouble turning off Protected Mode in internet options while you fill out the form seems to work.

They haven't decided yet. I would venture a guess to say a thousand people.

Chances are it's not so much of a feedback testing kind of thing, as simply a way to reach out to the fans. I'm sure there will be some way to submit any bugs, glitches, or general comments to Bethesda -- maybe a subform on the message board. But honestly I think the DLC is already more or less ready to go, so I doubt the beta testers will really be needed to find critical bugs or anything like that.

A thousand sounded better to me, I have more of a chance if they need a thousand, I would have no chance with just hundreds.

I don't think being new to these forums should have much say. I may not post here, but I post a lot on the Xbox Forum for Skyrim. I actually had to apply twice because I didn't realize that I needed an account here. But I thought, if I have it, I might as well use it. And lord and behold, I am no longer a Layman. Woot Woot.

Uh no. The DLC is finished but it needs to have bugs removed from it. They have a team working on it i'm sure but about a 1000 Beta testers is more effective then a room with a dozen people in it if they do their job and find bugs. If it was just for fans they would have made it for all consoles and it wouldn't be the full game. This is a Beta. Not a demo, Bethesda expects us to do our job and find bugs wherever they may hide so that the DLC will work right for everyone else. If you're not gonna bother to bug test then you don't deserve a Beta code.

Just remember that each tester they choose is $20 less dollars for them or Microsoft. 1,000 testers is $20,000 which may not be that big of a deal for Bethesda, but is certainly enough to defeat "the more the merrier" philosophy.
