Are you still playing Skyrim?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 4:56 am

I'm over 200 hours into it with my one and only (so far) character and still loving it. Been playing since day one (11.11.11).

Yes, I’m still playing, just not as much as when I first started. I’m in over 300 hours and 3 different characters, so I’ve pretty much done all the quests at least once with the exception of 2 or 3. Truthfully, I’ll admit I’m not as gung ho to play as I was in November and December, but you can get burned out on even the best things if you over do it. So, I’ve scaled back a little and I’m back working on some interior levels with the Boulder Dome modding team. This will get me back into the swing of working with the CK when it comes out. Probably in March or so there will be some incredible mods starting to hit the scene, so it will be time to get back into the game for a while. Then hopefully by late spring or early summer some official DLC will start to be released and some more large scale quest mods will also be out so that will be good for another run.

Yes. 280 hours or so, nearly finished my fourth character. Already have ideas for three more. Still two major quest lines not done. But PLEASE can we have the CK soon?

I only play on weekends. Too much to do during the week. I have three characters going, with ideas for a couple more and probably 250 hours total into the game. Still going strong!

How could you get bored of any TES game??
Cause they become repetitive?

Go down another draughr dungeon to meet yet more draughr deathlords which take forever to kill and aren't even a challenge anymore only to get crap loot as you've already learned most enchantments, have tons of soul gems and don't need money.

Do the civil war campaign and bombrush forts 60% of the story.

Meet yet more Forsworn or Falmer which never get better gear and have nothing worthwhile on them and just feel like annoying chores to kill.

Go down Dwemer ruins that are linear, stale, predictable and unrewarding.

Do quests in which you have to retrive/kill/explore X and return to said quest giver.

How could this not become boring?
It's repetitive as hell.

Everything leads to dungeon crawling, and dungeons can take up to hours to complete if you want to fully explore them.
And as the difficulty setting svcks you become either too powerful or the enemies become damage sponges.

How is any of this fun?

wow just saw... about 600! hours in the game. no wonder i don't want to play in the moment. stopped playing a few days ago. maybe play a bit here and there, but i guess i will mainly wait for the ck to come out. 600 hours on vanilla is already a proud amount of time compared to other games

Took a short break from playing the game but it just keeps drawing me back. I'll probably play it until SoulCalibur V comes out next week then I'll probably not play Skyrim for 3-4 months due to KOA Reckoning and New Vegas Ultimate Edition.

Despite my criticism of Skyrim's writing, companions, quests, etc. I am still playing the game. I stopped playing for a week or so, then picked it up again a few days ago. Stilll playing FO3 and New Vegas though, I'm splitting my time up a bit, so when I get sick of swords and boards but still want sanbox and exploration, I'll go with FO3. If I want good writing, quests, and good companions, as well as meaningful choices and consequences, then I'll play New Vegas. Seems to work pretty good for now...I just wish that Beth would hire better writers, cause the ones they have now totally blow.

Yes, I have 3 character and I haven't even beaten the main quest yet. Enjoy exploring, side quests, etc.

About to make another character (blood mage), but having trouble with the build.

I dunno how much time I've dedicated to this game, but its A LOT. Still playing often/occassionally, not as much as I did at first, but still having fun, finding new NPC's/quests.

Played my Bosmer assassin for 115 hrs up to level 63 then got bored because nothing could kill me.

Started an Altmer mage about 35-40 hrs in so far around level 25 and I'm having a blast with him.

I will be playing skyrim off and on until TES 6 comes out, just like I did with Oblivion and Morrowind before it.

I recently hit 100 hours with my second character, after retiring the first at about 130 hours. I'm still excited when I play and discover new points of interest.

If your on the console, go to your Saves, and underneath your most recent save, it will show something like this.

71.05.00 (Hours, minutes, seconds)

That is how much time you played in Skyrim

Been away for about 4-5 days? I'm getting a feeling CK's around the corner and I finally cracked and started using the Skyedit program, massive funs so far lul. all I've done was trail the bleeding edge of all the "Guilds" but never finished.....first time I've ever come so close to beating 90% content of a TES game so early.

Haven't played for about a week now. Not played much to be honest about 50 hours in total since release.

I'm waiting for patches to fix the game as frankly I'm worried about breaking quests and such.

I haven't played it in a few days, bin occupied by a few other games. I got a bit bored. But after I give it a brake it should be interesting again, always good to take a break from time to time.

Not really. I might play it in a bit to see if it's not boring to me anymore, but I doubt it. The quests are wayyy too shallow for me and for some reason I can't enjoy the game anymore when I'm in the twenties. I still check out the forums though, it might give me an idea for a new character or something, which I can enjoy.

Currently playing FO3 for the first time which is nice, and I might play Oblivion again later or pick up Morrowind.

I guess I'll come back to Skyrim when the CK is out and some awesome mods have been created and the DLCs have come out.

I played one character for about 76 hours and haven't played again since mid december,

I think a major reason so many are getting bored quickly with the game is the lack of real ranked guilds. Guilds were a HUGE part of all previous TES games, took a large chunk of your time in every playthrough with a different character and added a lot of replayability for each character . also lack of character stats (attributes, classes etc) gives an empty, bland, and unoriginal feel to any character type I try.

I'm on 600 hours now & settling down to play a new game to have a look at the beta build, That's really my only motivation left until either DLC is released or the modding community come up with something wonderful.
I can fully understand why people are bored & they raise some good points, It really is hard to defend the lack of substance in some area's & the multiple fetch quests & repetitive dungeon crawling wears hard on the motivation at times.

The key issue to the games current longevity is the roleplayers(imo), Their imaginations are a big part in fleshing out enjoyment in Skyrim & turn the repetitive & mundane into something fun & exciting, I don't have that talent & i cannot match their ability of being able to trasmute content via imagination.(no disrespect meant)

I'm still plodding on after 600 hours, doing my utmost to immerse myself into the game & search for every detail, However the shallowness of the guild quests(sans DB) & the incredibly annoying fact that radiant quests give me the same woman to kill 4 times for absolutely no return is starting to wear me down, Skyrim to me is like an ugly child, Yes you love it to death but every now and then you want to slap it;)

I can understand why people are bored & will not give them a hard time about it.

Not at all. About 150 hours in and I just can't take it anymore. Not getting rid of it though, hoping Beth releases some DLC or something with a better narrative.

No.... Unintaslled and shelved weeks ago.
Sugar coated garbage this is. I must say, the sugar coating (graphics) looks good after all, but Where is the incentive to play this? Where is the meat and potatoes? My bad for not researching this a little more before i bought it. I have had more fun on 15 year old turn based linear square games. I have no interest in loading this up again to kill yet more Bandits and loot more fur armor and a lockpick. The writing, the quests, the duengeons. The dialog, It's all garbage imo.

I had thought i would enjoy this after too many years of mmo's, but as far as i can tell this is nothing more than

another mmo without the mmo.

I have been toying with the idea of Morrorwind or FONV, but my 1st experence with Bethesda has been not so great to say the least, I'll go back outside and look at the scenery (irl) :)
