Are you still playing Skyrim?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 11:33 pm

I got three characters: Warrior, Mage and Rogue up to level 30ish. Finished the main quest on the Warrior and Mage. Did all the Companion, Mages Guild, Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests with the appropriate classes. Got all the daedric artifacts. Did the civil war as an Imperial supporter, Stormcloak supporter, and stayed neutral.

As far as I’m concerned, I did everything.

Pretty similar boat, except I am still playing. I haven't found all of the artifacts or dragon masks, and still find new things to do when/where I least expect it.

Killer bugs have played a part in my many different characters and restarts - I'll play a character for a while to explore a build or storyline, and eventually some glitch slows me down (cough, important NPC randomly dies, etc). Despite all that the immersion and depth of play experience keeps me entertained. Even with the bugs, it is still probably the best fantasy RPG since the introduction of the graphical MUD.

Still playing it... thought life is keeping it to less than 10 hours a week. I plan on playing this game for a long time. Just like Oblivion. Maybe even more so.

Took some time off to play the highly overated Arkham City (Newest PC gamer gave it a realistic score on the PC-- 79%-- and,BTW, gave Skyrim 94%). Just waiting for 1.4 final to get back into it.
Still pee'd off on the one quest to get fragments of some amulet and when I get to the last location--you have have some higher mage spell to open the cave. Just stupid that I can get all the other pieces as a warrior and then can't complete the quest because of some ridiculous skill demand from out of nowhere..

im done now with Skyrim. Its a very beautiful game, abit on the too easy side in certain areas of gameplay even on master difficulty running even with non enchanted items. But still a very immersive and awesome world to explore defintately.

The CK does nothing for us Xbox360 and PS3 users, but im happy for the ppl that have been patiently waiting for the CK.

1.4? i donno.... from the notes on it here on the board it looks great but it took me quite a long while and many chars of trial and error to learn where most if not prob all the quest bugs n glitches are for an Xbox360. 1.4 might bring on a whole new set of bugged quests or glitches.

Even purchased the hardbound CE Skyrim guide to see if there was anything i missed, and nope nothing left to do but repeatables that have become boring. And I really dont want to have to carefully plan my adventurers all over again to sidestep the glitches and quest bugs on what would be char number 8.

Many of the quests are connected to one another or lead to another quest. And if one is broken it in the chain its not only frustrating to try to get it to work properly but breaks the flow and enjoyment of the quests story.

Whenever a DLC comes for Skyrim i might come back if the DLC is worth it.

Very Beautiful game Skyrim and I can purchase it for my PC but i just dont want to. PC is where Bethesda should have suggested ppl to purchase the game because that is where the true freedom to play Skyrim is.

Only reason why i purchased the Xbox360 version was because i had seen the many videos of Todd H. showing Skyrim being demo'd from the Xbox many many times. So i thought well, if the man is promoting it that the Xbox is the way to go? then ok ill get the CE Xbox Skyrim!

I can careless that Xbox is getting the DLC before the other platforms, I would just like the games quests to acctually work, without having to dodge the glitches to get from A to B.

If i had to choose between more armor n weapons, new stories and lore, more n better mara companion options, more cities, more creatures and new wildlife, more player housing options and locations, improved txt from NPCs, ability to upgrade your ingame spouses gear without having to pickpocket them to get them to use the items, hirelings and house carls that perma wear whatever you give them and not fall back on thier default armor after zoneing, .....and quests that worked properly?

i would choose quests that functioned properly over all the other stuff.
...........or a way to at least cancel the quest to start over if the quest is bugged (Xbox360)

Ill prob just play darksouls for a while till the new gw comes out or maybe just try the starwars mmo for a while since diablo3 was set back further.

While I did fast travel everywhere, I did it because traveling wasn't as exciting as I thought it was. The environment is too static for tedious walking to be enjoyable. Most of the time, I get from point A to point B without seeing anything interesting happening on the road. The only interesting things I see are some random animals that charge at me, but that is it, really...

It doesn't take long to see everything that there is to see in the game.

I do have to agree with you on that.

If your lucky, you might see a patrol of random Imperials transporting a prisoner, that's it.

You only get letters if you level up to a certain level, so they can keep you motivated in the game.

Yeah, but what's funny is how often I see those Imperial patrols inside of Stormcloak territory. Sometimes even right outside Windhelm.

I seem to have missed the tailored encounters that Radiant Story was suppose to give us.

I do as well of course, had Skyrim since it came out, and I am only level 29 believe it or not.
I am taking my time tremendously, trying not to miss anything.

But I do love the game, and I don't expect to stop playing it until around March or April.

I'm taking a break and focusing on Morrowind at the moment. I have been switching between the two which just makes me appreciate both games more.

Are you kidding me? I never fast travel and I always find interesting things to see. Besides the alchemy ingriedients I find along the way, there are the travelling bands of Khajiit that I can trade with or buy training in Speech or pick up an odd quest from, there are peddlers, there are random packs of bandits, Thalmor Justicators, farmers, Imperials, Stormcloaks, Giants, Dragons, etc. etc. Sure, some of the encounters seem a little stale after your third encounter with the same three Thalmor, for instance, but if you travel enough, you will see spawns of various things interacting with each other, and that is where the fun begins.

Last time I played I ran into a random Dragon who made the mistake of attacking a nearby giant. I watched and pot shotted the Dragon with a few arrows while the Dragon and giand battle it out. When it was over, I ran in to collect the soul and pick up the Dragon bones. Well, that overencumbered me, and I could not get away fast enough when the giant came after me. He came right up behind me and killed me with one swing of his big club.

I got really mad at that giant and when I reloaded, I started pot shotting the giant instead of the Dragon with arrows. The giant still won but he was a little weaker and I was not overencumbered when he came after me. It was a long battle and I had to reload a few times, but I finally slew that darn giant. In the process, however, the giant killed a poor farmer who wandered along and almost killed some Khajiit caravaners. After the battle, I trained Speechcraft from one of the Khajiit and it was enough to level up, so I picked stamina and had just enough increase in carry capacity to pick up all the dragon bones and the giant toe and still not be overencumbered (second spawn on that Dragon dropped fewer bones). Well, I hotfooted it back to Windhelm post haste.

These are the types of random encounters that you don't get if you fast travel everywhere. In all honesty, I much prefer these types of encounters to any of the scripted quests.

I saw a group of Stormcloaks fighting imperials the other day, that was a first.

Stormcloaks won. Hail Ulfric!

Exactly right <<< Sarcasm....
I am a true TES fan because I can admit that the series IMHO is just getting too watered down for many reasons and I have stopped playing for now, So I wouldn't burn out on the game. I will buy the PC version later with the CK probably along with the DLC. I have played the TES series for the last 10 years.
