op guy, you're going to hate this

http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Argonian | http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Imga | http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit | http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Lilmothiit | http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Sload

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ beast races, sine there is 4 (lilmothiit are extinct) it is clear as water that they belong and fit in perfectly, not some freak accident that happend to appear in the game one day

http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Dragons | http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Ka_Po%27Tun | http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Kamal | http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Tang_Mo | http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Tsaesci

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ races from akavir with characteristics of beasts (kamal is an ice demon, so i dont think they would be beasts), in other words, akavir beast races

that is 8 living beast races (dragons included), that is much more prevelent than the living humans, so beasts clearly fit in better than the humans do, even without dragons the beasts are more prevelent and have a much lesser chance of being removed.

yoru argument has been killed, reserected and killed again!! many times in fact. thank you, have a nice day
I know you did beast races but these deserve an honorable mention.

Here is an ancient sentient tree,

Well then while I'm sure they add to the lore, I must admit I'm kind of glad they don't have the other beast races in the game...

Why? I'm just curious. I personally would've loved to see a Sload, but that's just me.

Thank you for all of that I just gave the Sload earlier, also there is unexplored areas of Nirn yet to be discovered.

so the race i want to see most could still exist, the lilmothiit (fox race ftw). squee! () but i have a question, the underwater half-human half-squid things, wouldnt they be considered a beast race? being part human and all, so, including kamal, 11 beast races (maybe more, i have not took into acount other less friendly races)

and the hist tree is awsome, everyone should love them

Well, hopefully the Aldmeri Dominion succeeds in their plan to kill all humans :P :bolt:

But how could you get rid of the khajiit? I mean Neveranine, Champion of Cyrodiil and the latest Dragonborn have all been khajiits. They save the world every era :teehee:

You basically invalidated your opinion when you admitted that you are not an expert at ES lore. If you're not an expert, then leave the lore to the experts, Bethesda. They include Argonians, Khajiits, and other beast races (like Sload)? It's canon.

Deal with it.
i don't "invalidate" my opinion just because i don't have absolute, unquestionable knowledge about something. that's why it's called an opinion... but come on, i think we both know there's more validity to what i'm touching on. i mean we could reduce this to a simple transfer of information between one another like two, wiki-induced automotons, but that's not really the point.

I'm sure I'd get used to them, but what they have going right now is incredibly fantastical, yet still has such a strong authenticity to it, it seems possible and dare I say 'realistic.' I guess it's more or less fear of breaking that feeling than the actual species itself. I know a game set in Akavir would be cool as hell.

What validity? All your saying is that you think they are ridiculous and don't fit in the world which you don't know very much about.

Yes they are a slug like beast race.

The Hist is awesome and the Argonians have some connection to them, sometimes depending on what the Hist can predict in the future its sap can change an Argonain child to meet whatever the tree has predicted.

I love the Hist they are ancient probably the oldest life form on Tamriel.

So just keep the same old, boring humans and elves?..........No thanks. Go play a LOTR game if you want a series more like Tolkiens work.

I thought Argonians and Khajiit in general were some of the oldest races as well? Ayleids apparently wrote about cat/lizard men, correct me if I'm wrong.

I am pretty sure of that as well, its really interesting they could survive so long its also been theorized that they have existed way back into the Merethic Era.

I know Argonians are supposed to be old, if I'm not mistaken the hist that created them (and all trees) is the oldest living thing in Nirn. I think Khajiit, who I'm pretty sure came from the ancestors of the Bosmer, are not quite as old.

They did write about that can anyone confirm if it was indeed the Argonian and Khajiit.

I do know they are not older than the Hist they existed way before the Ayleids.

It would make the world less Elder Scrolls if they was not in it. Recreating the Hobbit is a bit extreme. If you invested a lot of time into the series how do they feel out of place, how long have you been playing? That is why I voice my opinion on the series, that and I fully intend to invest thousands of hours into over the next several years.
i will admit, i can't quite put my finger on what it is precisely about these two races specifically. perhaps it's simply an inability on my part to suspend belief, but based on my experiences and studies i think the argument comes down to a jump in logic in terms of what one can accept, at least from an evolutionary standpoint. regardless of what has been written in the last few years, or last few decades, that's hardly an excuse for bad conceptualization.

That is just your own personal stereotype and opinion based on how you feel.

How are they a bad concept, see I just do not get how they are a flat out bad concept they are much loved and revered by the fans and the lore suffers without them: to utterly remove them would be farther butchery to my most beloved game series.

Why is it bad conceptualisation? FYI, Argonians and Khajiits didn't just "evolve" like that, in fact a lot of TES races have appeared independently or been transformed through magical means.

Have you truly played any of the other Elder Scrolls games? I can understand bad execution - perhaps the Argonians were a little more dragon-looking than I would've personally liked - but bad conceptualization implies that the concept in itself is bad. Basically, saying that is saying that Elder Scrolls lore since Daggerfall at least (not sure about Arena's lore) has bad conceptualization. The lore since that point has included Argonians, Khajiits, and other beast races in the origins of Tamriel's inhabitants and its culture.

I agree with this except the Argonians they look better now than ever before, the only thing is I would like to remove or change up the chin spikes.

Other than that they are not a bad design concept in the least.

these races are perfectly suited to their enviement (argonian's scales protect it from the dangers of the swamps in the same as a crocdil, and a khajiit's fur is not insulating, it helps to keep the heat off and protect their actual skin from sandstorms) so there is no logical falacy here, you sir, just want to play lord of the rings in sandbox mode

can i get a cookie for figuring it out?

i never implied anything to the contrary. but how i "feel" about it ultimately expresses my own creative values on the matter, which is what we're talking about anyway. yes, i'm being a bit obnoxious, but it's hard to be polite when you think someone else's taste stinks. i really don't know how to be polite about that, so i just run at it full bore.
