If it will be half as fun as AvP2 was, I'm buying it on the release day.

Also it should be called AVP 3.

I'll probably check it out, never played the originals. It looks pretty good though, even if the trailer I saw seemed like it had unnecessary amounts of violence (not that I mind violence, when used well).

As for the movies, AVP and Requiem were awful. Just terrible, terrible movies. Sort of like Doom.

Anyone here getting the game? comes out 2/16/2010 I think. And has anyone seen the movie? I've seen parts of the Aliens movies but they seem so boring, and I saw Predator 1 but I haven't seen Predator 2. So is the movie any good(without saying any spoilers)

You need a slap. Alien 1-3 (Aliens in particular) are excellent movies. Some of the best sci-fi movies around.

Also, the game is not based on the AvP movie franchise, but rather takes inspiration from the best movies in the respective series (i.e. Alien, Aliens and Predator). From what I've seen, it looks excellent. I'm a big fan of both the Alien franchise and the Predator franchise, and I can't wait to jump into the 3 way multiplayer.

The reason why I said that is because the parts that I've seen are just talking..... and talking.. and talking.

They have http://store.steampowered.com/app/3730/ on Steam now for only $5. No multiplayer yet but there is supposedly a patch in the works.

Downloading now, looks like fun :D The new one looks like it has potential. I've never played an AVP game, so what do I know? :P

After what Rebellion did with Rogue Warrior I'm never touching any of their games, this included.

It's also based off of the comics! I'm going to wait and read reviews before I pick it up, but all of the previews are saying it's awesome so I'm not worried about it being poor. But just in case.. ;)

I'm not getting my hopes too high. Rebellion has been behind some [censored] games lately. If it does turn out to be good, awesome. Otherwise I didn't get my hopes up.

The preview videos look pretty good. Besides the graphics, the AI also looks pretty good and some of the things you can do as the predator are more fleshed out than in AvP2. Jumping around as a predator looks a little quirky. There's this thing where you can see an icon that specifically shows where you'll land when you jump onto or off of a ledge. Not necessarily a bad thing but it's a lot different than what you might be used to in an FPS.

I haven't even bothered looking for stuff on it, I'm avoiding it at all costs. If it gets good reviews then that's great, but until then it's just another Rebellion game to avoid like the plague.

Well.. No pc requirements have been released and so i don't know if i will be getting it or not... doubtful since the game looks like it will require extreme high end computers.

This

That, and they haven't shown much gameplay. It's easy to just slap a trailer with the few good working parts together. I am just not getting my hopes up high for this one. Just too much time has passed since the last one. Although who knows, it might surprise us all.

Have they? I'll go take a look and chime in with an updated opinion then.

When I say "they" I mean some people with a camcorder

 They allowed some Gaming journalists to play a multiplayer match a while ago, it was pretty cool but they only released a screener (not official)
