Oh [censored] off, no one cares what you think about this game since all your opinions of it are based on your groundless assumption that every modern game is terrible.
i did not say every modern game is terrible? most are though. and you can [censored] off. [censored]

And this thread has gone to hell in a hand basket.

Let's attempt to get it back on track yeah. Who's your favorite Bat. I gotta give it up to Adam West, when I watch the old shows they are just so unintentionally hilarious I can't help but love em.

Mine is the voice actor from the animated seris whom's name I can never remember (I want to say Michael Keaton, but I believe he was the one in the Tim Burton films correct?). To me, that has become the eternal voice of Batman forever, the one that when I read the comics, I translate the words with.

Funny enough, I have a completely opposite view for The Joker. When it comes to him, my favorite is a mix of Heath Ledger and the one from Batman: Under the Red Hood (which is basically just Heath Ledger's in a cartoon). Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have never read a Batman comic yet, so those two Jokers are the only ones that I have seen to be made out as the insane psychotic killers that The Joker should be. The Jack Nicholson Joker is great, but.... I don't know, something about him just seems lacking.

He's to fat.

So, is the Dark Knight Rises going to be the last reboot trilogy film?

I hope it isn't, they are doing a great job of taking all those B-Grade comedy villains from the TV Show and making them serious.

I imagine what will happen after the Nolan franchise is finished is that we will enter a five-seven year time where there exist no Batman Films, and then, one of two things will happen.

A. Some idiot takes reigns over Batman and makes a series of terrible filsm that completely crushes the image that Nolan has spent a entire decade to help build for Batman.

B. Some genius realizes that people really loved the storylines of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, and will make a movie that leans more toward that style of Batman.

Maybe we will finally get a Batman Beyond movie?

I invisioned the Adam West in Family Guy playing the role of Batman
I never really saw much of Batman since I never watched the cartoons much to know the actors names, so from the movies I've seen I'd say Christian Bale

Interested to see what Batman fans think of these branches in the Batverse.

http://www.cracked.com/article_19537_the-7-stupidest-attempts-to-reinvent-batman.html
I got no problem with them. I can see right away the guy who wrote the article doesn't get the concept of DC's "Elseworlds" stories, where they take a well-known character and basically give it a speculative "what-if'" treatment. What if Kal-el's rocket had landed in a field In the USSR instead of Kansas, what if the childless Waynes had adopted an orphaned Kal-el, what if Abin-Sur had given the ring to Bruce Wayne, what if Bruce Wayne was a government agent during the Civil war with a Native American sidekick named Redbird? Fun stuff.

I really wish this wasn't the end of Nolan's Batman. I was hoping that he would make Robin awesome.

Hopefully he decamps some other superheros.

Probably the Micheal Keaton from the film with the Prince soundtrack, he is so unlikely that it is actually plausible he could keep it entierly secret he's the Bat.
Despite the awful film/dialogue/costumes I didn't think George Clooney was terrible either, if he got the role in the Nolan films I think he could've been quite good.

Kevin Conroy has to be my favorite voice for Batman and Christian Bale does a great Bruce Wayne. Hmm, Keaton does a good Batman as well, but I can't forget Adam West... Do I have to choose one? :(

The Joker from Under th Red Hood is
John DiMaggio he also voices Bender in Futurama. He did a great job, but Mark Hamill is the best voice for Joker, that laugh is the best!

Am I taking the wrong approach with Arkham City?

I picked this one up during the recent Steam sale. I did the tutorial and Two Face / Catwoman quest, and then I've been mostly wandering around the game world, trying to get my gliding shockwave attack to work properly (I'm supposed to glide, hold the activate key and then press the mouse3 button, but it doesn't seem to work.)

Wandering around and fighting random thugs has begun to grow a bit repetitive, and I can't find any doors that I can enter in order to explore new areas. I found a couple of places where it looks like I can use something to break the wood, but I'm not sure how to do this. Should I be approaching this more like a linear game, or am I just not finding the right buildings that can be entered?

To break wood, take out your gel and spray some on there and then blow it up. I've only played them on Xbox so I don't know how to do that on PC or help you otherwise, you might want to look at the controls or look at a few walkthroughs or something on the net, sorry I couldn't help more :/

If you follow the main storyline it will take you across parts of the city that will open side quests, which in turn can lead to finding more side quests. Just continue the story and bounce across roof tops and use the detective mode to find accessible doors (big, orange, hard to miss)
The wood needs to be broken with the explosive gel sprayed directly on it. Another method I founf recently is the Zip(line) Gun if you aim and fire at the wall you will zipline through it all heroic like
EDIT: There are Riddler Challenge rooms which you need to break the wall to enter, these wall/doors just need to be "activated" in order to break them down, they don't show up blue with a crack though but rather with a Riddler question mark on them.

I just found an infinite experience points level up glitch on Arkham City a week or so ago.
Spoiler
You need the grapnel boost upgrade and the shockwave upgrade. Before the Riddler kidnaps the security team from the church over by the Jokers Area of the city there is a trophy you need to grapnel boost off some chimneys glide over and land/dive bomb on the pad with enough force(shockwave helps) to unlock it but it wont unlock the riddler trophy for collection at that point in the game so if you exit and re-enter the area you can keep doing it and get a nice chunk of xp for hitting it hard enough even though you don't get the trophy.

A necromancer wanders the land! We must purge it!

Though I suppose now is a very good time to discuss the upcoming movie. Who else here saw the Airplane Clip that they let out? It was on Youtube for a small amount of time, and can probably be found on a wide variety of other websites.

I hate a thread like this because I love Batman, and there is just too much to say for me to type it all up. He is the most badass hero ever because he has no powers, and a lot of his villians do have powers and he still beats them, you don't get any cooler than that. I hate when people say Superman is better, I say [censored] superman he is a wimp, especially in the Justice League. I loved watching the Batman Animated series it was so cool, and the last week HUB has been available and they have been showing it so I am the happiest person in the world. I don't care what anyone says, but the Batman movie The Mask of the Phantasm is the BEST Batman movie ever made!

So that's where it originated from...

I don't suppose this would be the thread to discuss shows like The Justice League or Young Justice? Perhaps we should just make a "DC Universe" thread come to think of it.

If we do that then i'd have to start explaining in detail why The Flash is the most powerful and what not.

But on the subject of Batman he is my joint favourite Superhero and the new film looks amazing.

Batman is my favorite hero, though I am not sure why. Could be his lack of powers.

My favorite villian is the Joker, and the Ledger Joker is my favorite one.

My favorite Batman film is The Dark Knight though I hope that changes when I get to see the Dark Knight Rises.

I haven't played any of the Batman games, so I have no favorite there.
