Batman. The thread...

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 6:15 pm

This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen written on this forum - in what way is Assassin's Creed not a game? Have you ever even played it? I don't know how you can possibly demand that any of those games be more complex, just because they're not Bethesda style spreadsheet-fests.

Cracked is a comedy site, not a gaming one

Assassins creed is once again simple and automated, not as bad as batman but still. look just get back to your batman disscussions i should have never have bothered...

Exactly. When i play a GAME the first thing i expect is GAMEplay, now its becoming all too popular for games to just be movies where you press a couple of buttons, very little skill involved. assassins creed, mass effect, cod halo and gears singleplayer modes.....makes me mad.
I don't think any of those games fall under "press buttons and stuff happens" especially first person shooters, unless I'm missing something. Press shoot button, and your guy automatically shoots all the people... nope thats now how it works. And assassin's creed doesn't have that either, I would even say not even close to just pressing buttons. Just because pressing one button to assassinate a guy is simplistic doesn't mean that one button controls the rest of the game. I can't speak for mass effect though, have never played it. If I were to say so, I think that you just randomly listed popular titles and said that without even thinking about it.

they are not as bad as batman, but bad enough. they may have complex graphics/stories but not gameplay or other things. but anyways simple games should have thier place in the industry, its just when they sell way more than complex games i get agitated.
. Now thanks to the incredible reception Catman:AC recieved we are gonna see even more games with simplistic and automated gameplay.
this is just speculation, but most likely will happen.

Well I would discount first-person shooters completely as it doesn't even compare to how others work, and the only automated things I can think of are those silly fighting scenes where you just press a button, or in Halo Reach during an assassination.

And I still don't see assassin's creed as one of them, maybe the last 2 with the continuing adding of gadgets, but I think the first two weren't really like that. I actually remember the combat being a little bit harder in the first two, not just stab everything that approaches me instantly.

Edit: Also I'm going to surely defend Halo, as I'm sure that you would defend deus ex if I said something. :)

nope i dont defend deus ex, deus ex defends itself. regarded as the greatest pc game of all time and won over 40 awards. and no its fine defend halo its cool.
for cod or halo- yes they are not automated- you can turn off aim assist. but the design of everything else except graphics is too simple. well halo AI is good, they have good things about them, just like batman. oh i give up i just dont like these new age games one bit, bore me to death.

1. I think a fan of Half-Life 2 would like to object that statement. :)

2. And Halo isn't like the others. You could call it a sandbox fps I guess. Unlike others like Call of Duty where its like take this grenade, throw it in the building, continue, now pick up this sniper and shoot this guy. Where halo you basically can go about solving any situation how you choose. I'm pretty sure there are some exceptions, but none come to mind except maybe some boss fights. But my example would be in Halo 3 on the third to last level The Covenant" you have to destroy two scarabs (giant death thingies :)) and a few ways to do it is fly your hornet in a circle and destroy it, blow its legs up with a scorpion and destory it, or land on it and destory it.

Now back to the main program. If you wish to continue you can message me.

Hmm, based on that I'd guess that City indeed still has most of the problems that turned me off with Asylum, so my money is better spend elsewhere.

I didn't get around to seeing it but it definitely looked good. Not sure what that has to do with Arkham City though. :P

"It's not DX1 or FNV so it svcks" :P

Also, DOB isn't a gamer and hasn't played games for years. He himself said that. Also, as I recall, he never played that game. He just saw his friend play a section of it.

Shut up about damn Deus Ex :pinch:
You've "gave up" twice now, so why not stop hitting post now that you've said your piece on how nothing beats your beloved Deus.

Oh [censored] off, no one cares what you think about this game since all your opinions of it are based on your groundless assumption that every modern game is terrible.
