So now that the game has been out for almost two weeks, what is everyone's favourite map? My favourite is Caspian Border, it's the most "classic Battlefield" map, a big map with vehicles everywhere.

I have started getting the hang of the jets and helo's. I mostly get assists and things but I stall the jet to get tank kills and disables. I was on khrag island and was going after someone in the water with the jet with the guns, I pulled up out of the water just barely. In doing so I roadkilled the guy, I was laughing my ass off with that. Then I got on the aa tank on the canols map and got 45 to 2.

Im not really sure about favourite map yet. I quite like the Sienne map. Pretty intense fighting most of the time. I just wish it was a slight bit bigger and had a scout helicopter on it :\

Also, I only just noticed, On Caspian border CQ, They've changed the map a bit since beta?
There was a capture point at the antenna before, and you could climb up the antenna ?

I usually end up just ploughing into the tank or whatever im trying to hit. I forget to pull up or leave it too late :\

This is why I laugh at everyone who says Co-Op is pointless. You can unlock some pretty powerful guns in Co-op to use in multiplayer.

So yes I am serious. If your on the PC I'll play with you.

Had my best game so far on Seine Crossing Conquest. Went 41-15 and finished with 1115 points. By the time I was through with all the bonuses it ranked me up a full level. Also unlocked my first cool secondary dog tag, it's the rifle specialist one.

41-15 and only 1115 points? Isn't that a little low? Pretty sure one kill is 100 points with no other bonuses like headshot or anything.

I did 46 and 2 on the canols map, one game I unlocked 2 medals in one game once so I got over 20,000 points just from that.

My Battlefield 3 review.

Spoiler
So after a little more than a week I have been able to really get into the multiplayer aspect of Battlefield 3 and I wanted to take a deeper look at it than I did in my review. I felt Modern Warfare is the pinnacle of online FPSs’ and everything since has not been up to snuff. However Battlefield 3 blows by every COD from World at War on.

Call of Duty has long been hampered by glitches and unbalanced play and no body on the developing side seems to want to change that. Battlefield 3 suffers from neither of those things. In about a days worth of play so far I have yet to see someone run away with a game. Sure you see players end up with some good games but never the 50+ kills and zero deaths you’ll find in COD. Every thing in the game has a weakness whether your and infantry solider, helicopter gunner, or tank driver you never should be over-confident. The class or rather “Kit” system is perfectly set up so no cheap or overpowered classes can be made. Kits are restrictive but still allows players to choose from a diverse pool of weapons and gadgets. The few glitches I have run into are small enough that they don’t break the gameplay. Occasionally I have a hard time reviving someone even when I am directly over them. Then there is a sound glitch that causes the noise form a rocket too obnoxiously be played over and over again.

The highly detailed and beautifully designed levels are a blast to play in. There may only be 9 maps at the time but they are diverse enough so that you won’t get tired of them before the first map pack. I personally only dislike 2 maps and those would be Operation Metro and Damavand Peak which are rather straight forward with mostly head on fighting. The rest of the map are for the most part open and less linear and my two favorites would be Khrag Island and Caspian Border. As always with Battlefield multiplayer maps the world is highly destructible. You may think your safe and sound in some building until an enemy tank rolls up and brings the roof down on you.

While the servers suffered the first few days after release I haven’t had much trouble jumping into matches. The option to either join a quick match or browse from a myriad of servers provides for quick and easy match making. My one major and probably unfixable gripe about the match making is the amount of people who can be in your squad at the menus. A couple of times now me and my friends have not been able to easy get into matches together because there is more than 4 of us. Fortunately this is probably the biggest flaw of the online.

I’ve tried my hand all the game types but have found out that Conquest is the game for me. Rush while fun can be a bit linear and if you're trying to escape the campers of Call of Duty you won’t find solace here. Team Deathmatch is a nice addition for those who are trying to ease into the series. The map sizes are cut down quite a bit and the pace of the game is quickened. Conquest like I said is my personal favorite as it often becomes quite intense when me and my team mates are calling out orders and positions of enemies. The many matches I have played so far are tactically heavy requiring me to use all class types at some point in time. One thing that I have noticed however is the objective markers on-screen blocking my view. While in the vicinity of a position a large aggravating letter A,B,C, or D will be practically front and center on my screen. Now it's not cause me a ton of trouble but it is still a note worthy flaw to the game.

I really don’t have much in the way of negative things to say about the online in Battlefield 3. Even coming close to the first Modern Warfare was no easy task but it managed to do so. I have been left with something more to desire with every COD game after it and I was rooting for Battlefield 3 to fill that void. It has done so with flying colors and is reason enough to spend $60. Converting from COD to Battlefield may not be easy for some but if your one of those people who are willing to give it a shot I suggest you do so.

im really looking forward to this game. i even got a new graphics card just for BF3. could some beta testers assuage my fears though. ive read some random posts here and there by people saying that the game wasnt all that great in beta and this was just a couple of weeks ago. hopefully this is a small minority and/or they have addressed any problems. ive been waiting for a new BF game since 2142.

edit: just read the above review. thanks it sounds like its going good after all. the thing that drove me nuts about CoD was that you could snipe people across the maps with ak47s.

That's true, the game wasn't really all that good in beta, but it's vastly improved since then. I'm loving it now.

Yea it's difficult and to hit even with snipers at an extremely long range, the bullet trajectory goes down after a certain amount of distance.
