Bethesda - Buff Werewolves. This is not a suggestion, this i

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 6:29 am

Title.

Stats: Nord Warrior type character, has put all points into HP and some into stamina. Level 24, 240 HP, Adept difficulty. I get 3 shot by most regular bandits as a wolf.

Absurd? Absolutely. Werewolf form is a suicide act for me. I can WRECK these bandits when not a Werewolf, but when I activate Beast Form, I die. I just..die.

Working as intended? I surely hope not, as this is simply unacceptable.

Necessary to gameplay if you're a werewolf, yes.

Since Vampires are getting some love, I'm sure the pups will too.

A pretty bold statement considering it's not true in the slightest. Nowhere has anyone that works for Bethesda confirmed that Werewolves are getting their own perk tree. It was in the gamejam video, end of story. That does not confirm anything.

And yes, quite obviously I'm speaking about werewolf gameplay. What else would I be talking about? Smh.

On the gamejam clips it shows a werewolf perk tree and it allready looked finished on there. I REALLY doubt they would withhold it for future dlc since this is their supernaturel themed dlc.

Just because you can't smith a werewolf to 1000 damage doesn't make them weak. Try using your speed, shouts, and power attacks. Standing in one place is an easy way to get destroyed fast.

You seem to misunderstand the point of the Gamejam video. It was not showing things they were definitely putting in the game; they just had fun and messed around for 1 weeks time and added what they wanted with no strings attached. That is not a confirmation.

Gameplay is not wholly about being a werewolf, therefore buffing lycanthropy is not a necessity.

I can agree with you that werewolves are underpowered if your example is indeed an accurate account of things. Considering the fact that you're level 24 and only put 14 of those levels towards health (240 - 100 = 140, divide by 10 = 14) you haven't put all of your points into health and only some into stamina. More like half and half. In other words, you're squishier than you think. A lot squishier. Is Adept higher than Expert? I play on master and I get one or two-shotted by anything that is the trash mob version of an enemy. Hell, even mudcrabs kill me fully buffed.

Anyway, in the off chance I'm wrong and you actually do have a valid point, yes, it appears that werewolves are quite impotent as is. I believe the intent behind werewolves is to have them be beefy powerhouses of murderous slaughter capable of tanking dragon breath and going tooth and nail against the giant lizards, not puny little whelps that get killed by every bandit or mudcrab who wanders along. Why the lack of beefiness?

The gamejam video isn't a blueprint for what's to come, sure a few things have made their way into the game but that's hardly confirmation of anything.

This...except if your damage and armor are so horrendously sub-par it doesn't matter how fast you are or how many power attacks you use if all the good it does is chip at a dragon's health and get you killed less slowly.

The vampire lord was unfinished in the game jam. The perk tree was basically finished from the looks of the footage, We are going to get a perk tree, Stop wasting forum space.

The Perk Tree looks finished itself, but we have no idea if all the perks work as intended, or if those are the finalized perks. A perk that lets you transform more than once a day is literally useless, considering another item you can get in the game.

Someone explain me this, for all you trolliosis people out tonight:

Why in the world would bethesda want to create werewolves so underpowered that doing so is a DISadvantage to gameplay with no advantages at ALL except mere speed?

-I die faster
-I do less damage
-I lose the ability to block
-I lose the ability to shout or cast magicka

+I'm rlly fastlol

Yeah, that's balanced. Oh,wait.

Werewolves are not meant to be tanks, Your meant to use agile combat, Use leap attacks, The fear or summoning wolves howl to help. Use tactics, If you want to have a were form that can tank wait for the Werebear in the gamejam.

My mage dies in about 6 hits.

Dying in 3 hits does not make you "not a tank", it makes you absurdly underpowered. Please educate yourself. Good grief.

Then you're playing a different game than everyone else, because I'm not the first to make a thread about how stupid fast werewolves die at higher levels.

You know the first fort you clear after contracting the disease during the Companions questline? The Silver Hand fort? With Aela? Yeah, I died literally 8 times in a row because two mages shot fireballs at me at the same time on Adept. Adept. Balanced.
