Bethesda, you earned my respect in Patch 1.6.

As any fans of the Elder Scrolls series would know, it is the MODs that add to the longevity of the game.
It has been nearly 10 years since Morrowind released and until now, there are still MODS coming out for it, and people are STILL enjoying them (me included).

yes they are great games but many don't play on pc you know.

Not trying to showoff as a "PC Master Race" or something. But seriously, mods really enhance the game alot.
Give it a try, who knows you might actually start to enjoy modding the game and really appreciate how its being built rather then just sitting on a couch holding a controller.

I spend time on mmo's when on computer as there is far more life in those as compared to Skyrim. You can easily dump 1000's of hours into one of those games.

Fable is nowhere near as interactable or large as Skyrim, you can't have discussions with over a hundered NPC's each with unique dialogue, I've spent 300 hours in Skyrim, I haven't completed the Main Quest or even started any of the Guild questlines. There's so many secrets I know I've yet to discover within it (even though I've discovered a lot). I've not become a vampire or a werewolf yet. I'd say I'm roughly 40-50% through the game with 300 hours of playtime. Not to mention there's the repeatable bounty quests and various other repeatable quests for guilds. Some players may find it tedious after a while but I don't. If they can just fix the major bugs within the game it would be absolutely perfect for me (not talking about minor glitches and miscellaneous quest bugs I mean respawning and freezing).

I honestly could spend hours simply chopping wood in Riverwood just listening to that soundtrack and watching the river flow in the background.

Nope not really. MMOs are just gear up, raid, gear up, raid somemore. Oh cool you killed the lich king, guess what? You get to kill him again next week. :P
Anyway i think we're getting a lil off topic already, and i don't feel like discussing about MMOs on this forum. (I have my fix in the ESO forum lol)

FABLE IS SO STUPID!!!!!! Its like an RPG made for [censored] people. They should just put a bullet in the franchise and lay it to rest.

Peter Molyneux, once the father of such cool games like Populous and Dungeon Keeper, now reduced to a joke.
Check out AngryJoe's 32 reasons why Fable 3 svcks lol

I liked Fable:TLC and Fable II. But they almost killed that franchise for me with Fable III, it was a rushed pile of [censored].. Also full of bugs despite only containing roughly 30 hours playtime max.

Yea this is going off topic but don't forget the interaction part in mmo's that add indefinite life to the game. You can stand around for hours just chatting with people. Can't really compare those to single player rpg's. Now if they made a TES mmo that would probably be the best game ever.

I don't know about ESO.. I'm not much of an online player, if it was like Warcraft where you could basically play the game yourself I'd give it a try but I've heard the focus is really on teaming up..

Well I will definitely buy it as well as the continuing single player series as well. Thanks for the heads up.

Few developers also release such buggy games that need so much fixed. I'd say its sort of a mixed bag there.

Right. There are no other games on the market jam packed with as much content as a TES game. I wouldn't say it's a mixed bag, but more a necessary evil. Each TES game has a 5 year development cycle...you'd be looking at 8 years if they devoted more time to polish them.

To be fair, the console versions are [censored]. Modders can fix whatever Bethesda missed from the start on the PC version. While console players tend to just get stuck with what they've got, and hope a fix comes later.

I got the 360 version on launch because I'm impatient. But, I also knew what I was getting into. There are some hiccups occasionally, but I certainly don't constantly [censored] about it. Bethesda has my money because I happily threw it at them, and they'll get more once I get the upgrades I desperately need for my PC, so that I can play skyrim the way it was meant to be played.

I think it's dumb to respect companies in my opinion. You can certainly appreciate good practices they follow, and indeed, I appreciate Bethesda's active involvement with the community and nonstop support since release, especially considering they've got an expansion pack on the way that they could totally be blowing everyone off to focus on. Yeah, Bethesda games tend to be pretty buggy on release, but which of their games hasn't? It's pretty much the norm at this point although admittedly they have been getting better with each release. Bethesda catches a lot of unnecessary flak, I think, but they've always been super chill and patient about it, which is made even more impressive by the fact they have one of the spergiest communities.

well they do not really care much about magic in skyrim.... as we can see since day one.

I'm really hoping for an improvement to destruction magic, and I think Bethesda does care. The animations and visual effects have gotten a lot of love but some mechanics just don't pan out as well as they ought to. The issue just seems to be either an oversight or overzealous balancing of a free-form single player-RPG.

Patch 1.6 releases Mounted Combat, a feature that im sure long time players have been waiting for a very long time.
They could have intergrated it into Dawnguard as a paid DLC, but they gave it away for free instead.

In the current world where we have Day 1 paid DLC (IM LOOKING AT YOU BIOWARE)
This is a very refreshing and very welcome move.

Now my problem is...if mounted combat can be offered for free, what goodies can we expect from Dawnguard which is a Paid DLC??
Im getting too hyped up for this, and deep in my heart i know i really shouldn't cause it'll probably cause disappointment.

But should i be hyped up? lol Please bethesda, please tell me if i should be hyped up for Dawnguard lol!!

Seriously tho, thanks very much for giving it away for free. Very much appreciated!
Compare Bethesda's free releases of new features to Capcom making their customers pay for content that is already on the disk...

I imagine that dawnguard will blow us all away - the yellow eyes in the poster make me think we've got some lycanthrope things happening and maybe they'll finish an underdone aspect of the game. I stopped using beast mode at level 20 since my character was a better hero as a man. We'll see if things change now...

That's why he mentioned Bioware, because what EA did with ME3 is no different than what Capcom does in their games, since it was already on the ME3 disc. I would consider the first day DLC bs with ME3 a lot worse than the verses mode in RE 5, since it reveals a huge mystery in the storyline that can only be told through buying the DLC, than some crappy mode online. Though, it's still bad and unjustified on both sides.

I wonder what we will get as "additional content" in the next patch ? God please spears *fingers crossed* Anyway, Bethesda are doing fine job with patches (if only they could fix Esbern's Potion quest or ridiculous sometimes ratio of CTD).

I say let the hype-machine run wild. E3 is less than 2 weeks away.

Indeed. E3 is pretty fun, but it's the marketing machine on stereoids.

There are better conventions for pure gaming goodness, like the game dev one.

The support we've received from you guys on Skyrim has been unbelievable, and we've wanted to do anything we can to improve the experience. Seriously, thank you!

Not too long until you be hearing about Dawnguard. There's some exciting details.
