Bethesda, you earned my respect in Patch 1.6.

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 12:37 am

Would you prefer that content not to be included at all, "altered code" or not?

Personally, I'm grateful Bethesda cares about their game and adds features, even if they were the ones incompleted. I've seen tons of games and gaming companies which wouldn't bother even to do that.

No, I never said that. I just stated a fact which other people also brought up before and after me about the tone of the thread started by Phybar.

So we shouldn't thank them for not jumping on the current bandwagon of actually charging for altering code on the disc? It's apathetic attitudes like that which gave rise to the barefaced cheek shown by other companies.

Do excuse the rest of us whilst we voice our opinions and thanks towards a welcome break from the incessant fleecing of consumers which is on the rise in the rest of the industry. Or are you happy with day 1 paid DLC, and the strangling out of the used games Market?

Believe me, Bethesda just doesn't want to be under fan's [censored]storm like Bioware was regarding their 1st day DLC. It it weren't for that, Bethesda was charging all of us for this content (if you can call a small feature like this content, BTW) right now, so quit talking like they are doing us a favor, they just thinking about themselves like any other business company out there in the world. (yeah, there is a world out there besides Skyrim.)

Oh please shut up.
Not happy with this thread? Don't post on it troll.

And here comes the OP... telling me to shut up. Very mature of you. BTW, I never said I was unhappy with the thread, it fact, it amuses me seeing all this ... It's fun, you know. And I was merely offering my opinion on a public forum own by Bethesda, it's not your place to tell me to shut up. So, know your place and do continue the "boot-lick-ing"

At the end I'm going to quote some of the posts in this topic which shows that Phyber's voice (with this "boot-lick-ing" tone of voice, I might add) is not the voice of the community:

The updates are nice, but it would also be nice if Bethesda were as prompt as the modders at fixing the game's bugs and similar issues.

I don't plan to spend too much time on horseback, and the killcams are just eye candy. Those updates are better than nothing, but they're nothing major.

If you say "giving away for free" one more time they probably wont do it anymore... and some of us wont be happy...

I DON LIKE MOUNTED COMBAT SO THIS PATCH svckS !!!!!11!

WHY DOESN'T IT BENEFIT ME BETHESDA?!

There are more, but I don't have time to quote them all.

Totally agree  people should be more appreciative that Bethesda cares enough to alter/add features. It seems that no matter what Bethesda do - there is always a section of people that complain :stare:

So, you're saying you're "stating a fact" while not agreeing on it? yeah, right...

Anyways, I'm not in the mood to discuss about such petty things.

You obviously have problem understanding English...

Indeed it's petty, like what this 'patch 1.6' is going to introduce to the game petty.

I was only joking with my post, i am in fact massively looking forward to the next patch and think adding features to the game for free is a great thing, i don't know how anyone can think otherwise.

I certainly hope what you heard is indeed true  a new playable race is something I have longed for.It would be a dream come true if we got that along with spears, crossbows and several new skill trees  so here`s hoping.

The latest outrage being the ME3 one. An extra squadmate belonging to a species everyone though was extinct, with part of it contained on the disc, that could be accessed with a little ini editing.

I wouldn't go "This is an outrage!" over it, but it does deserve a  and none of my money :)

This is not altruism, it is not betraying your fans. Respect should be better deserved than for the addition of clunky horse combat.

ooh, nice condescending tone there. It would help massively if you actually acknowledged the fact that profit margins aren't the sole factor which businesses base their practices on. Consumer feedback, shockingly, is one of them. And yes, they are doing us a favour, as has been said they could easily have bundled this into the upcoming DLC, or made it the 'horse armour' of Skyrim. But they didn't did they, they gave it to us for free and people appreciate it. Sure its a small thing, but so was Horse Armour, we had to pay for that. It was moaned about and mocked, something they have obviously paid attention to, and adjusted their approach accordingly; giving where they could conceivably charge.

Oh yeah, FYI, you quoted a sarcastic post to back up your 'point'.

Well, in a way they've included something "major"...the fix for the navmesh and LOD bug :)

Betsheda is the only game developer whose updates make me happy, not some gibberish that don't fix anything.

I understand that Skyrim is a very anti-magic place but I am getting annoyed with the lack of attention it is getting in this game. It's like all the Dev's suddenly turned into the ignorent Nords of Skyrim who all turn their noses up at magic. Lets see the timeline.

Skyrim Release:

No Spell Making.

[censored] Enchating Rules > Can't place certain enchantments on certain armor/clothing.

No Magic Kill Cams

Lack of Unenchanted Mage Clothes > All the good stuff is either already enchanted badley or cant be gotten without console commands. *Psijic Order Outfit*

Hardley Any New Spells > eg. Muffle.... ( Whooo :I )

Removal of Previous Useful Spells > 1/2 of Conjured Creatures gone! Water Walking Gone!

Patches:

6 Months Later > Magic Kill Cames

Mounted Combat - Melee & Ranged...... BUT NOT MAGIC!

I'm guessing 6 months from now they'll get around to it......

No, a beta version is available through Steam if you play the PC version, but the official patch will not be released on any platform until they finish testing it.

Don't people understand that spell-making was never intended to be part of skyrim?... They're never gonna add it so stop your griping.

Clearly sir you don't get that magic in Skyrim is x10 better then it was in Oblivion. Spell Making was pointless in Oblivion all you could do is make something overpowered. I prefer the distinct spells in this game, its much much better. Instead of spell making, i want new spells, POWERFULL spells in the DLC. Two or Three powerful spells would be nice with each DLC.

But something they may add is Spell Combinations, that would be cool, and it would kinda be like making your own spell.

Mounted combat. What is not to like about more options. I just want to see 'enemies' doing it as well. We need more diverse enemies. Mounted imperials/stormcloaks/thalmor could make the civil war more interesting, and who wouldn't like a mounted knight in heavy plate charging them with a spear.

Please oh please... can 1.6 fix the rather irritating very easy to fix bug where spell absorption absorbs your conjuration spells?

Hi there Jnicholass! How you doin'?

Don't people understand that spell-making was never intended to be part of skyrim?... They're never gonna add it so stop your griping.

The above is not accurate. Todd did say they messed around with it, tried but eventually failed to implement it on schedule. It is plausible the extra time has allowed them to re-introduce the feature. Still, plausible but unlikely, I would say.

@NoESM
Take a look at all the topics and posts that you have made since you created your account.
Every single one of them are there to troll. Why did you even buy the game then?

Seriously if you do not like this thread, then don't post on it. Walk away. You don't have to create an account just to crap on people.
Im surprised the moderators have not given you a warning yet.

I stand by my opinion that kudos must be given to Bethesda for releasing Mounted Combat (that was shown on the Game Jam)
as a free DLC instead of taking the easy way of putting it on Dawnguard and charging us for it.

Anyway Bethesda,
My wallet is ready. Just say the word. Once Dawnguard is released for the PC, i will be one of the first in line to buy it on Day 1.
TAKE MY MONEY PLEASE!!!!!! :D
