A call to the wolfpack #2

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:14 am

Inside that grotto, it might look like it, but that was not the Bloodmoon. When the real bloodmoon occurs, Hircine will call only the greatest of hunters to compete with each other, after which the winner will face an aspect of Hircine. No such thing happened.
One of the hunters calls it the bloodmoon, the hunters game is always different, and in the end you still "face" an aspect of Hircine. Still whether it was the official hunt of the bloodmoon or not is irrelevant it was the bloodmoon of the 4th era.

Dovakhiin did not face an aspect of Hircine. Perhaps talked to him, sure. But there was no confrontation in any sense with Hircine. If you have played Bloodmoon (ES Morrowind expansion), which I assume you have, you'd know what a real Bloodmoon event is like. The hunter's game might variate at each event, but the outcome is always a fight/hunt to death with Hircine. All Bethesda has done is create a cool scenery for this specific deadric quest.

My tactics for Beast form is sprint attacking your prey before they can react ( Note: as a werewolf your padded feet give you a sneak however only a a certain extent ) Fear roaring archers is a good tactic and if you time it right you can side steep or jump away from an incoming arrow, also if you've got a group of people from 3-5 you can power attack them and knock them off there feet which allows for easy pickings when you narrow them down to 1-3.

I didn't take it as the true blood moon, I took it as a safe haven that Hircine created for Sinding to live in. Here home we have a " hunters " moon or a " blood " moon every couple of months, has something to do with the way light is passing around the earth and reflecting off of the moon, giving it a redish / orangeish hue to it. So I just took the look in that cave to be the same, just a red moon not actually the blood moon.

Try perking the " sneak " tree it carries over to the werewolf form allowing you to sneak up on your prey much easier. Also casting muffle before changing also boosts your ability to get the drop on your prey, and if you have that magic school perked out you can cast the muffle spell for 180 seconds( I think ) giving extra time for sneaking around.

We've only a hand full of things confirmed about our soon to come swelling of power. Enhanced damage, more health, more effecient feedings, the ability to call in our pack and increase the terror of our prey. Would any care to hazard guesses as to the rest of the perks? I'm asuming that totem of the ice brothers improves the brotherhood howl, totem of the predator boosts our life sight, and that Savage Feeding will grant healing for deathblows.

I think the totem of the ice brothers is either an improvement on the brotherhood totem, or it's a totally different totem all together giving two different totems for calling in the pack. Savage feeding I'm hoping will grant more healing from feeding, and / or allow you to feed off of other creatures( the last part seems very unlikely, seeing how we're supposed to feed from humanoids ). But for the most part you and I seem to be on the same page, what we are thing is the same.

Oh I understand all that, I could probably have worded it better. I'm just curious to know what others have found to be effective. I honestly like both types but haven't gotten very far into either tree even though I play a bunch. I was thinking though that if I'm gonna use sneak too then light may be best, too bad it isn't useful while in werewolf form as others have said. Only reason I was thinking of heavy is 1. the whole big hulky warrior aspect and 2. more protection while using a two hander.

As of patch 1.3 or 1.4 the light armor tree no longer carries over to werewolf form, but mage armor still carries over. So really it's up to you what type of armor your toon will wear.
My Orc is a true warrior, he's skilled in both the one-handed tree, two-handed, he has the archery tree perked as well. He is skilled in the heavy armor tree but only wears daedric gauntlets and boots, and Ulfrics robes with the nightingale hood. This is http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj500/Justin_Peddle/100_6339.jpg , the daedric gauntlets give the appearance of a werewolf type of forearm along with claws, the boots give the same feeling to his lower leg( still kinda looks like a werewolves ). Ulfric's robes give the look of a main of fur around the upper body and the chainmail under the fur looks like the grey skin of a werewolf, the nightingale hood just adds an extra creepy effect where as you cannot see his face, other then two spots of light reflecting off of his eyes. All in all, he's a very sinister looking individual which matches his personality, he embraces the hunt in both Orc form and wolf form, which leads him to view all as potential prey to feed on :drag:

This thread is all about the collective knowledge of the pack, feel free to add your knowledge to the whole, share you back story of your wolf or share a story of you night out hunting.

ALL HAIL THE PACK!! :drag:

First thread :
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1369690-a-call-to-the-wolfpack/

Last two comments :

Im not sure if the 1h Tree helps with the claws....but on my werewolf character the one thing i cannot stress enough is that when you level put all of your points into health...This will allow you to stand toe to toe with 4-6 people, especially when you reach the higher levels around 40-50. Your health should then be around 600-650, then add the 100 health bonus from transforming. Another good thing to do when facing down multiple enemies is the 1h power attack, this will throw one enemy about 3 yards or so and will take 1 guy/girl out of the fight for a few seconds allowing you to slaughter his/her friends. Also it is also good to do what you have talked about picking one off right in the begining with the running claw jump, This not only feels good but it normaly takes one enemy out with one hit.

I hope this information helped,
Keep your eyes on the prey, Not the horizon.

No, a werewolves claws are unarmed. One-handed won't help period not even the dual wielding perks.

I just took down my first dragon in werewolf form today. I've got my passive magic resistance to the max now. With my alteration potions my shields now last for more than 3,5 minutes. I chuck down one of those and then cast ebonskin, (haven't got the master spell yet). That's when I transform. By now the beast has landed and I keep sprinting circles around the mighty beast using the spring forward attack. I did not take even 1 hit. Thought it probably would've killed me in two if it had. Felt great !!!

I'm thinking about keeping a journal from now on. Of all my werewolf exploits.

Good show, you beat me to it. Have you tried drinking a fortify restoration potion on top of that? It should boost it even further.
I'll have to try and make a couple alteration potion and a couple restoration potions and see if my theory works, I'm thinking it should work the same way as the potion loop for making super potions.

The first was just a sneak attack on some sleeping hunters at hunters rest they didn't know what hit them and then I found a named mage who was easy picking. The 2nd was a surprise attack on some more hunters at the hot springs place.Any way my ww is a nord named Farangor black claw who wears fur armor, gauntlets and boots of the old gods and uses a steel dagger and a hunting bow

How many mauls does everyone have? My new main character currently has 225 mauls.

Whiterun is my home, so I circle around it and patrol it. My hunting grounds are the forests around falkreath.

I'll try it out today, all though you can already do pretty much the same loop with alchemy and enchanting.

I has returned!
My High Elf, Erissa has been... busy... on her honeymoon. she married her fellow huntress, Aela, a little while back, but the couple was busy dealing with those damn dragons, and missed their honeymoon. so, Erissa decided to surpirse her wife and-
"Ssh! they don't need to know about my love life!"
Oh, right. you guys don't want to know the rest...

but she made a new friend, a Khajiit named Dar'Rakha. but he seems a bit suspicious... and for some reason, he claims to be allergic to garlic.

(ok, the truth is that i couldn't find this thread. but i like RP moments, so pretend that the above section is not a lame excuse)

beast form lasts 180 seconds ( i think), so casting muffle just before transforming is a good idea

The kill cams for werewolves are the best in the game IMO, just wait until you pop someones head like a zit, funny ass shi# !! There's also a bite down animation where you take a bite out of each side of the neck, like I said their the best kill cams in the game

Beast form lasts for 2minutes 30seconds and will increase by 30seconds for every feeding, muffle indeed is a good spell to cast before changing it will help you get the drop on you prey. :drag:

That's what I was thinking, a restoration potion should react with the alteration potion the same way it does when doing the potion loop for crafting. Or you could do the potion loop and make " super alteration potion ", apples and oranges I guess

Freya has 4000 mauls... You'd be amazed how many you can crank out in the middle of the seige on Windhelm. It's like an all you can eat buffet. Took an ingame week before she turned back

I only started to play on-line this year, I was one of those who refuses to pay to play. But I gave in, after I bought the new Xbox.
