Can someone "sound" attractive?

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 9:04 pm

Yes, of course. I have an incredibly deep voice. It's low pitched and 'growls'. I'm told what a sixy voice I have all the time.

My girlfriend is the opposite. Her voice is high, quite high. It's not obnoxiously high and people, both male and female, find her voice sixy as well.

This supports claims that were made in a special I watched on Discovery (or something) about human sixuality. In fact, when a woman is at the peak of her menstrual cycle (most likely to get preggers) her voice will become slightly more high pitched. It's to show how fertile a woman is. On the male side, a deep voice signifies high testosterone which shows good protective skills.

EDIT: Oh, and I love showing off my voice. Hit me up on Skype and we'll talk about...Video games or somethin'....

I have a deep timber to my voice as well. A duel I say!!

Sweet.

Thank you guys for proving my point with 100+ votes in favor of "yes". Person who thought otherwise, (you know who you are): IN YOUR FACE! Muahahahahahaha! :hehe:

Well of course they can. Audible sixy is one of the turn-ons, I might say. We're a visually oriented species first, but sound follows after.

But it didn't sound like you would use us to prove it!

No, seriously, what kind of people does that guy listen to?

She listens to pretty much the same people as us, but for some reason doesn't believe voices can be called "hot". Crazy, right?

Duh, Irish and Russian accents are insanely hot.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and the same can be said about ears...

No voice will sound attractive to everyone.

@Turns Regaurdless of what you think of him, he has an awesome voice.

Nah, it's just crappy Estuary English. Adding "R" after every "A". It's a pretentious faked French that has permeated into the consciousness so that we see it as posh. The old Aristocracy used to pronounce their vowels the same way as northerners do.

Horrible accents: Fake Californian accents, Southern (US) accents, Miami accents, modern Southern English (England) accents, Cuban accents, Utah accents.

See, I have independent confirmation!

Those Liverpudlians on the other hand...

You did that deliberately, didn't you?

Modern Southern English accents... I'm guessing she means the chavs. Nobody could hate a proper cultured English accent... With the exception of you :shifty:

Is that meant to change my mind? Sure, he's a good singer but the interview afterwards doesn't help your case.

Well yeah, I like the old cockney accents where they sound like chain smoking Australians, but Most every monied person from Stoke to Southampton sounds kinda strained, like their wives are sleeping with the Scottish stable lad or something.

I just don't believe that the southern accents are cultured at all, I think they're a forced nouveau rich dialect.

Oh, absolutely definitely. Much as I love Wes Johnson, I'm not crushing on the guy - but I'm totally crushing on his Sheogorath voice! :)
(A lot of girls fall for his Lucien Lachance, but oddly that does nothing for me.)

In real life, I used to talk to a colleague on the phone who worked at headquarters, and I'd never met or seen him. My boss walked in on me flirting horrendously, as usual, with this stranger with the sixy voice. When I'd hung up, he was laughing, and said, "You have no idea what he looks like, do you?"
"Nope."
"About yea big with a face that looks like it's been slapped with a shovel."

I told him not to be mean, but when I met the man at long last, all I could think was, "OMG! He does!"

Voices can be attractive, and voices can be sixy, etc, but I don't think the word "hot" can be applied to a voice. I think of "hot" as an appearance-related trait. :P
