I can't understand why you'd play this on console.

I have got a very decent PC, but I'm scared of buying it on PC for fear of becoming an obnoxious [censored].
Because we all know buying something that's associated with a stereotype makes you into that stereotype

So, pretty much exactly what I said?
Not really what you said. You said I dont have a good enough computer or I cant, not I wont be bothered with, set it up to work on the TV.

Really some people dont take their gaming that seriously as to carry their pc around to enjoy the big screen...

If you have to carry your PC around in order to plug it into your TV, then it implies that you are unable to reasonably use the setup I suggested, so it falls under my final statement. As for not wanting to bother with Steam or Installs, I don't consider that a valid argument.

I edited my previous post if you're interested in why that is.

Not unable. I could do it if I wanted but I simply cant be bothered to do it in order to play for an hour or two.

Actually installs are one of teh reasons why I bought the xbox in the first place...steam didnt let me play half-life 2 because the registration took ages...So I do consider them valid argument.

It's time to think about eliminating the "money issue" part of "why i prefer consoles".

When I was a child my parents made a point that if I ever want to get anything I should go and earn the money. And I did. It really works.

That's how I went from being broke to being able to afford anything I can possibly need within reason (Including a gaming PC for entertainment). And hey, I'm a cripple.

When you say "I can't afford", I say "No, you are just lazy".

I only use my PC to talk with friends and other general internet stuff. Most of the games I like are only on consoles, and the only game I'd ever want to spend a bunch of money upgrading my PC for is Skyrim (just for unofficial bug fixes, don't care about the more extravagant mods). Not worth the money just for one game, imo.

I love how the PC "elite" gravitate to these threads and their blinkered views.

Hey, sorry console gamers, you should not buy this game for your existing console but instead plug your PC into your T.V and get an Xbox controller that works on your PC. Lets not mention the typical crashes to desktop that can occur while playing. We just want you to play on your PC even if it is min spec, because the thought of others enjoying the game on consoles, galls us..

Well svck it up. I played it on my I5 560TI system on Ultra and still prefer it on the Xbox

There are no such problems involving Steam and Skyrim that I've heard of. You spend 15 minutes installing Skyrim, and then can disable steam forevermore, if that's what you want.

Right, that's exactly what I said. I certainly didn't make any references to owning a PC that can run Skyrim according to one's minimum standards of performance.

And crashes to desktop? What about console freezing? It's essentially the same thing. And the CTD issue has largely been fixed thanks to mods and (hopefully) the LAA patch that was recently released.

Don't have the cash to build a decent PC and maintain it. Or the technical knowhow.

Anyways, I much prefer sitting on a couch in front of a big TV, the hunchbacked over my key board.

Either way, my answer in the end is.

I don't understand why you care about what other people play their game on.

I never had problems with having a job while studying. There are a lot of opportunities for freelance and those don't even have a fixed schedule.

Crashes to desktop occur more frequently tha freezes, from my own experience.

I have a fixed schedule 8-17 almost everyday. So no time for work I am afraid...

My Xbox froze up all the time playing Fallout 3. I've experienced maybe three CTDs playing Skyrim, in 250 odd hours played.

So you spent equal amount of hours on each platform and counted the number of freezes versus the number of crashes?

I can't afford, nor the have the technical know how to build a good PC. I have no idea what's good and what's not and I like using a controller.

I love it on console, but Mods would be cool.

Same as me.

So what? I worked at night and during my leisure time.

On the other hand you might not want to work like that because you have a place to live in, a warm bed and a steady supply of food and clean water. I had to do it just not to starve at some point. It just became a habit eventually.

No but from a normal play session I get more crashes on Pc.

Same here, having to quicksave every 5 minutes in fear of losing my game plus the horrible laggy feel on the PC version, meant I switched to Xbox version and to be honest, I`ve had a far more enjoyable experience since. I was getting anywhere between 3-6 crashes an hour and that`s on a new system that runs all other games fine, inc The Witcher 2 on Ultra.

Apart from not being able to afford a half decent pc.

It's not a matter of what I can afford, we don't buy the latest every time something new comes out. I'm only playing 360 because a friend gave me his, otherwise I wouldn't have played Oblivion either. And yes I still have sdtv.

Right. I wonder why nobody uses that "well I think this is probably more that that" approach in actual research.

Sorry about the starving thing. But really if I am going to finish my studies I have to focus on that and I really cant work. I also believe we are from different parts of the world? Today where I am from it is almost impossible to find "freelance" work.

I don't like the fact that I have to download a game even if I've bought it retail. TESV is an example of this. I mean, it's not like I have slow or limited broadband - I have unlimited downloads and 40 Megabit download speeds so I suppose it's just a matter of principle.
